Neighbourhood
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.

Dear LeeCadwell, greetings from Copenhagen! Located just behind Tivoli Gardens, the once seedy Vesterbro area, famous for its red light district, is now the coolest part of Copenhagen. In the streets radiating down from Copenhagen’s central railway station, you will find new bars and restaurants, independent atelier, organic food shops and vintage outlets. The area has become a creative hotspot, inspired by the likes of New York’s famous Meat Packing District, as artists, designers, photographers and filmmakers move in. We generally find that the location is more a pro than a con for our guests as it is a very lively area not far from Tivoli Park, Central Station and many nice restaurants (Cofoco, Public36, Bob, Gorilla, Kul, PatePate, Bodil, Fiskebaren and much more...) Despite the presence of some old sex shops, the area is safe and Vesterbro has been mentioned by the Lonely Planet as one of the "10 of the world’s coolest neighborhoods to visit right now". We hope we will have the opportunity to welcoming you so we can show the good Vesterbro has to offer! Kind regards, Alessandro Mosca Guest Relations Manager grm@andersen-hotel.dk
