Fantastic location and a great base to explore the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Spacious bathroom as compared to other European hotels. Room heating system could be better - was waken up by the cold in the middle of the night. Slow drainage of the washing basin.

We stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier. Just a few minutes walk to the Stroget and Tivoli. Lots of restaurants, pubs, cafes and a little supermarket within a stone's throw. Loved the courtyard out back, where you can take a drink or coffee and sit. I read some reviews where people said the rooms were small....

After initial issues with our room, the staff were all very helpful at making sure we were looked after. Lovely very comfy hotel which was a stones throw from the City Hall and Tivoli Gardens. The complimentary glass of wine when we returned from dinner Saturday night was great! And love that you can purchase many design items from reception...

Hotel is very well located in centre of the city easy to find and a great base to explore from. The staff were fantastic and room was really nice. We stayed in a Sixties style room which was really fun but practical too. Would definitely recommend

Staying for 4 nights at the Hotel Alexandra was perfect. Great location and the staff were each individually accommodating and exactly what we needed at the back end of our travels. A small misfire on our check in room (small bathroom issue) was fixed instantly and we couldn't have been happier in the way it was fixed for us. Cool...

Stayed here for 3 nights from 14th November. From the airport get the train to the central station 36DKK per person, which takes 15 min. Turn left outside the station and go to the lights, turn right go to the next lights and turn left. Walk 200m and the hotel is easy to find on the left. From the hotel...

A very good location right in the heart of Copenhagen. Ideal for our trip watching Leicester City in the Champions League, with the main station just around the corner. Good location for all tourist areas (it is a small city anyway) and also ideal for the underground/railway station. This is a unique hotel and could be described as "quirky" but...

My husband and I stayed there for three nights before a cruise in the middle of August. Because our flight was delayed 14 hours, we arrived in the middle of the night. They were very nice to us. The room was clean and comfortable, on the 5th floor facing the street. We were one block from the Town Hall Square,...

This hotel is very centrally located for exploring all of Copenhagens sights. It's an easy 10 minute walk from the central station. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms while compact have everything you need for a short stay. Our bathroom was a good size with plenty of storage and lovely Orla Kiely toiletries. Our room was at...

We hadn't visited Copenhagen previously, and chose this hotel based on the reviews. It did not disappoint! We had such a lovely short stay, even though the hotel was almost full due to a high profile football match, we slept well over our two night stay. The room was of a great standard considering the price and the communal arrears...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
2013 Was the year where we brought half of our rooms back to the 50's. We decorated the rooms with furniture, wallpapers, lamps and textiles like the design loving Danes did in the 50's. 2014 Is the time for moving ahead. In early March we ended the renovation of the last rooms and they will be decorated just as the design loving Danes did it in the 60's. Hotel Alexandra is perfectly situated right next to Europe's largest pedestrian street and the Tivoli Gardens. ... more   less
