Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are traveling alone and do not have /wa t to spend sp much money, this is not your choice.
When i arrived there alone, I asked for the cheapest room, a dormitory which costs 125 kr, very nice price, Well, they said they did not have those available and I got into the "single" rooms, 400 kr... uffffff
Them when you get the keys and so on, get into the room and see that it is a 4-5 beds room with the only difference that they are not placing any body else there during your stay.
And I mean that is not my problem, I paid for a single room and that was not it.
Wht I think is that they have a "non written rule" that all single persons who are coming maybe in low season are placed in this rooms, to get maximum money possible.

I could have got easily a 125 kr price with the uncertainty of getting more people to the room or not, true (I dont mind) but they just did not want to, because in June probably they will not get anyone.

Then, that price and no breakfast... amazing,

Internet consists in a cable that you ahve to ask for, connected to a single spot near the reception, but at least is free.

If you want to stay nearby Copenhagen, there are lots of beds available in the city for 3 times less price than this, that is what I did at the end,

I was in a single room, clean and confortable, but very very small for one single bed. A large kitchen is available to cook own food.
Since the restaurant of the camping is very good but also always fully booked with no table available, to have lunch and dinner it is remaining only the bar of the camping, just under the bedroom, where they prepare some food.
The food is good, very good, but the service is not good at all: only young people that try to do their best, but unfortunately they don't have any experience on food serving and so they make many many errors.
Delay (big delay) in taking orders, also because there are no cards of menu available for people on tables, but only one single card on the cash desk. They forget the orders, they deliver items separately instead of all together, so it takes a long time to have food. The tables are not properly cleaned also.
I hope for them that they will get some adult with experience, because the food quality is really good.

Roskilde camping has been our choice of camping site the last couple of years, just due to the fact that we originate from Roskilde our selfs. The camp site is the only one near to Roskilde and with in short driving distance to shopping and train to Copenhagen. This year we used the camp site as a stop our due to bussiness in Roskilde.
In general the camp site is okay. Its not great but okay. the new toilet Building us nice and well maintained, and the view....well that is Priceless if you get the right spot up the hill. But no roses witt out thornes. The Price is in the high end approx. 400 dkr for two adults and two kids) incl. water, elctricity and shower. The camp site it self is "up hill" - you actually live on a hill, this means offcourse.....tilting caravan/tent. This is a bit of a minus, as it can be difficult to even this out. And the last small issue is that the personal at the camp doesent seem freindly and warm. It seems at times that you are more a burden than an valued guest.
All in all we had a good time, nice weather and a good stay while we were there and the kids enjoyed.

For future stays the camp site night look into updating their kids play area, internet (free) coverage and updating the kitchen as it is all non exsiting or out of date.

The camping is situated close to Rosklide. Ideal location if you are considering visiting Roskilde Cathedral and Viking Museum.

But that is all good about it. The buildings are out-dated. Toilets and showers are horrible and dirty. There are unexplainable stains everywhere and hair clogs in the drain.

The camp is on a hill side, half of the site is slanted. There is minimum shadow available, no dividing bushes between the sites.

It is rated as 3 stars in the DK-camping guide and fairly maintained. But the reality is far from the truth. Too expensive for what it is.

We stayed there one night, two adults, a tent and two bikes...the price for a room in a hostel would have been the same...355DK! Around 50 euros..

The place itself is not bad, although if you only have access to the older washrooms, it is a little disappointing (By chance I got to see both, the difference is ridiculous).

What made this one night very disappointing was the campsite's price policy. To begin with, they gave us coins for the showers without telling us that they cost 10DK each (each for 5 minutes of showering). The campsite is located next to a fjord which is open to the public, so we thought they just want to make sure that only guests use the washrooms. Further, the receptionist asked us if we have a camping card which, according to him is obligatory, when we said no, he just said "I'll make you one. In the end this card cost 110DK.
All in all we felt a betrayed and when we started discussing with him that he did not say so or that we haven't needed it so far he answered really maliciously and unfriendly as if he was expecting our reaction to this bill.

So, our recommendation is to ask beforehand about prices in order to avoid a disappointment during your vacation. The cost-benefit ratio is pretty bad, so rather consider another place to stay such as "overnating i det fry".

Stayed here for 2 nights, large campsite consisting of chalets, residential and tourers. We was located to the North in an open field which was located next to the Fjord. Site was located on a bank so ideally you should bring leveling ramps. We found the new toilet/shower block alittle pretentious for a campsite, although very clean and modern. There was not a shop as such, just a canteen type building with products randomly placed around it. The sunsets were amazing across the Fjords and the town of Rosklide very pretty with good rail links into Copenhagen. We found staff very friendly with excellent English!

We had a nice pitch by the fjord. The kids jenjoyed the bouncy trampoline thing and the large chess set. But the washing areas are in need of upgrading..... There were signs up saying that they would be upgraded soon. We had bikes which were great as otherwise it would have been a long walk to loos or shop. The shop wasn't great. High prices and not much choice. The man on the check in desk seemed pretty surly, like he just had too many travellers to deal with. Well placed for the Viking Museum... Again the bikes helped. Only one restaurant nearby which was completely empty and seemed to have a strange menu and again high prices so we didn't bother.

Near Copenhagen at Roskilde. Fantastic mini homes available. Like B&B on your own. Ask for the modern mini houses! You won't regret. Perfect. 2 bed rooms, kitchen, open kitchen and living. Sea view. Modern camping facilities.

Great site, with views across the fjord to the harbour – the odd facsimile Viking ship wandering by, great views across to the Domkirke. The usual good facilities and a very attractive swimming area had it been a bit warmer.

Surprised to read the comment below - we're English and they let us in!
Lovely campsite - good amenities, but if you're in a camper van a bit of a schlep to the showers. Great swimming, and in the afternoons you can watch viking ships from the museum sailing in the harbour (not many places where you can do that!)
It's quite a hike into town though - particularly when hot.
