Korineum Golf & Beach Resort is lauded for its clean rooms and pristine grounds, though the pool's cleanliness sometimes falls short, guests have called out. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness often receive high marks, but pool bar service can be hit-or-miss. While the spacious rooms are a highlight, some travelers suggest they could use updating. The golf course and beach club are popular amenities, yet dining options and additional transportation costs could affect the overall perceived value.

We stayed here for a week, played golf 4 times and had a really great stay. We were pleasantly surprised with so much about Korineum.
Pros:
Fantastic golf course, really interesting and well maintained with great views
Super service and friendliness from the golf guys with bags and drinks and buggies etc.
Large, quiet rooms with good housekeeping
Beautiful outdoor restaurant with great views over the course, hills, sea and countryside
Brilliant practice putting area and driving range
Loved the beach just a few moments away with grass under loungers, table tennis and bar etc
Staff in the bar and restaurant were the same each day and they were super helpful and friendly
Pool area is nicely kept (service a bit lack lustre and music was too loud occasionally)
Really well kept grounds areas
Peaceful location
Parking good
Communal areas and seating areas really tastefully decorated and clean
Buffet puddings were good
Breakfast buffet was good and fresh
Staff staff lovely staff
The breakfasts we paid for were super tasty

Cons
Rooms are a bit tired looking (peeling wallpaper) and the colour brown is a bit dull and dark
We had a la carte menu the first few nights as there were hardly any guests so they don’t put the buffet on then. A la carte was good but would be nice to see more local/Turkish items on the menu rather than burgers
When the buffet dinner was happening we were not impressed. The fish options were dry and didn’t taste good and the overall quality was not what we expected from a place of this standard.
They had 2 weddings on the final weekend which didn’t affect us until the music started and was very loud and lasted until the early hours which we could hear from our room (wasn’t great with a 6am flight the next day)

Overall we had a great stay and will surely come back however, Our only complaint was that we missed out on breakfast in the 4 days we played golf as the breakfast was from 7-10am and we played golf at 7-11am due to the heat. When we asked if they could keep a breakfast plate for us afterwards we were told no… so instead we made a quick cheese and bread in a napkin to take on the course and then had to pay for breakfast when we finished our round. This was a disappointing lack of understanding as to play golf past 7:30am in order to get breakfast at the buffet was far too hot. I’m sure at other times of the year it is different but in August… a little flexibility would have been good.

After an 18 month postponed golf holiday we arrived at Korineum late on a Wednesday evening. Although the restaurant was closed the staff were waiting our arrival and we had a very pleasant meal and the staff from then onwards for the whole week of our stay, all of the staff, reception, catering, restaurant, bar, pool staff, could not have been more pleasant or attentive.
The golf pro shop staff, the caddy master and buggy staff were always smiling, helpful and nothing was a problem for them. The Hotel is in the most beautiful setting, offering a very relaxed atmosphere. The golf course is quite challenging.
At this time when everything is a little uncertain the Hotel did their best so ensure everything was safe for clients, our room was serviced very well every day and the Hotel management organised on our behalf our PCR tests, needed for our return to the UK.
A huge thank you to all at Korineum. We hope to return in the not too distant future.

We went to Korineum for the golf mainly. We had visited previously in September 2018 and loved it. This time we were disappointed with some aspects of our stay. The golf course was fantastic, beautifully kept and well maintained with great practise facilities.
The staff at this resort were it's greatest asset. Everybody friendly and helpful, all wanting to help as much as they possibly could from the waiters to the managers. Cleaners to greens staff all had a continuous smile on their faces.
The room was large with a sea view, the bathroom was massive with both a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Spotlessly clean and towels changed every day.
The disappointment was in the lack of transport to the town and the beach. The hotel is somewhat isolated and to get a taxi to Kyrenia was going to cost about 30 euros each way. The bus to the beach was not scheduled to operate until 10 May. Last time that we visited both buses were running and were a great way of seeing more of the area so we did feel out on a limb.
The food in the restaurant was the usual buffet style with little choice of main courses and if we found something that looked ok it was never hot, only ever lukewarm. The breakfast was ok, the egg lady was great, but the bacon was fatty and uneatable so eggs every day. The last time we were there we visited the A la Carte restaurant but that had now closed down. Another disappointment.

Great to be back after 3 years! Once again had an amazingly relaxed time. As solo female traveller felt completely safe & made most welcome.

Restaurant & bar staff so friendly & they work so hard & long hours. A mention for Elvan, Arslon (thank you for the book), Hassan, Yungus & small guy with lovely smiling face (sorry wasn’t quick enough to get name). In fact all staff very helpful from housekeeping, restaurant, beach club & reception, nothing too much trouble.

I didn’t use pool this time preferring beach club where there’s more of a breeze & having the regular shuttle to & from the club is really good. Just wished shuttle from hotel to Kyrenia was still operating as £15 each way in taxi makes expensive night out, especially if you travel alone.

There were several weddings during my stay & music varied which can be heard from hotel rooms but it doesn’t go on too late & I personally enjoyed sitting on balcony listening to it.

Food was again really good, something for everyone, huge salad bar, ice cream bar, fresh fruits, 2/4 meat dishes, veggie, pasta/pizza/ flatbreads & desert bar. Last time I visited there was bigger displays but felt a lot got wasted so good to see less food waste at end of night.

Drinks reasonably priced, bottle of Italian wine £15, Cocktails £5 each.

Thanks again for a lovely stay, see you again soon.

We recently returned from 2 weeks at the Korineum and had a fantastic time. Although it was quiet that did not diminish from the standard of service. The staff were all incredibly pleasant and helpful.
The staff in the restaurant were outstanding. We were always met with a hello, how are you. They remembered how we liked our tea an coffee so never had to ask again. Also our drinks from the previous evening. I would like to mention Sammy, Zakir and Wendy personally but all the staff were brilliant.
The food was very good too. Although there was no buffet because of Covid we still had a good choice every night. It always tasted very fresh and there was always plenty.
The golf was very challenging. The course has some interesting holes. Even the locals warned us to take plenty of balls out with us. The Pro Shop staff always greeted us with a smile and were very helpful.
The rooms were big and had all the facilities you need. If we needed anything it was brought to us straight away. The pool area was great with comfortable sun loungers and large brollies. At one point we were the only guests in the hotel so it was like having a private pool. The pool bar was always open even though it was quiet.
If you want a holiday where you are well looked after and the facilities are good I would recommend this resort. We would definitely look at going back.

Dear Linda W, Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time here. Our restaurant buffet is currently being renovated and we hope to open it as soon as possible with the new changes. The pool area is one of my favorites too however I really enjoy the beach just as much. It's a big motivation to read your positive review and we will make sure to pass on your kind words to Zakir, Sammy and Wendy. We hope to see you back here soon. Kind Regards, M.Ç. Gürtunç

Just writing this review before I leave after a 3 week stay.

Visited Korineum many times now as solo traveller & once again made very welcome by everyone & sad to be leaving.

Upgraded my room to Elite as staying such a long time & was nice to have extra space. Rooms are little dated but perfectly clean & well equipped for your stay. Sometimes noisy with wedding guests as this hotel does cater for many weddings during the summer months. September onwards golfers start to arrive. Grounds are tended & kept beautifully. Evidence of cleaning & maintaining grounds daily.

The greatest asset to this hotel are the staff. Nothing is too much trouble & so friendly. From housekeeping to restaurant/bar/beach & pool bars & reception all go above & beyond to make you feel welcome. Special shout out to Khairul & Sapana who cooked my eggs/omelette each day & of course Elvan, Yunus, Hassan, Nelma & Haider & everyone else who made my stay enjoyable again.

My only comment is that the buffet was very repetitive meatballs & grilled chicken every night but that said plenty of other food available just wasn’t my choice some nights.

Enjoyed the pool every day swimming early morning. Pool was cleaned regularly & was lovely temperature & welcome especially as my first week the weather was very very hot! Towels are provided at beach club & pool. I do wish guests would put used towels in bin on leaving. Such laziness as pool bar staff then have to go round collecting so that new people can use beds. How difficult is it? My only comment would be the umbrellas need replacing as hardly any now work & the surrounding pool area needs washing down more regularly as people treading dirt into pool even after showering. Again beach club needs little maintenance especially near steps into water.

So, thank you again Korineum for a nice relaxing holiday & hope to see you all soon.

WOW! What more can I say, we have just returned from a holiday at the Korineum resort and can’t wait to go back.
From the moment we arrived everyone went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed to have a great time, even down to making a birthday cake for my son, which was delicious.
All members of staff, the front desk, restaurant, pro shop, course and academy, spa and house keeping were fantastic, a big thank you to all, but a very special thank you must go to Meriem on the front desk, what a lovely special lady she is, we wish here every happiness with her soon to be born baby, Meriem you are a star.
I would recommend this resort to all adults, golfers, those looking for a great hub to sight see from or for those seeking a peaceful escape.
The golf course is challenging but beautiful, take a buggy, there are some long steep holes, we hired clubs to save taking our own and was not too disappointed being allowed to select what we wanted and ending up with a very reasonable set of Taylor Made’s each.
The pool is nice and secluded with a bar that does snacks, the beach is a short 2 min drive away is lovely and again has a bar that you can charge to your room, it is laid out with plenty of sunbeds and simply great, and the Spa is the place to get rid of any aches and pains gathered on the course, leaving you ready for the next round, a bout of sightseeing or simply to go to dinner where you will be served a broad selection, all of which we found to be lovely.
Once again, we can’t praise this resort enough and give it 5 stars.

Return visit and not disappointed. As solo female traveller Korineum is perfect whether you play golf or not (I don’t). Safe & friendly.

Food was varied & plentiful & the staff are so friendly/professional. To be remembered from last year & welcomed with a hug by restaurant/bar staff was lovely & even reception took time to comment that they remembered me.

Weather was very hot again but pool & beach club are perfect for relaxing days. Didn’t do much sight seeing this year so enjoyed the tranquility of the hotel/facilities.

I had an upstairs sea view room overlooking driving range/practice greens which was spacious & clean with everything you need including large bath as well as large shower. My only thought is that the furnishings need upgrade now. The bed runners/cushions/curtains are looking a bit tired. Housekeeping was spot on & nothing too much trouble. I didn’t have my room serviced every day (my choice), I don’t change sheets/towels daily at home so no need when I’m away.

Towels are provided at the pool & beach club which is great, no bulky towels to pack.

Drinks prices aren’t too bad, on par with UK. As I was on half board made use of buffet (salad bar amazing) but did have couple of lunches in the Clubbers Lounge & Beach Club. Little pricy but nice.

I’d recommend Korineum for a quiet holiday, don’t expect lots of entertainment, music a couple of nights, very laid back. It does host a lot of weddings so be prepared for music from these (in the distance) which are usually held across the greens. I like sitting on balcony listening to different music & it doesn’t generally go past 12/1 am.

There is a free shuttle to/from the beach club several times a day but just wished there was at least one into Kyrenia as previous years. I’d be prepared to pay a small fee. Taxis are not cheap.

I will be back soon.

The Korineum was a really nice hotel. Although we did not use the golf course, the scenery from the hotel is amazing, and the hotel hosts weddings & guests every weekend , sometimes two are going on in one day. That said, the pool area is small and not suitable for large groups . We noticed the pool area was not always tidied & cleaned on a daily basis( wet towels & rubbish left on beds next day, beds & chairs not straightened up) and we struggled most days to get a drink at the pool bar until at least 12.30pm.
The hotel does have its own beach, so a short ride on the shuttle bus there & back, and sometimes the driver left early which was a nuisance.
The food was good, varied & fresh , staff were attentive and friendly.
It is a hotel geared up for golf, tennis and weddings mainly.
The gym had no working air con or towels or water station, so it was stifling hot in there when using it.
The room was nice, but balcony was tiny, we had garden view and the drinks tea/ coffee in the room were not always replenished.
All in all a fabulous holiday but unfortunately I would not stay here again, as there are much better hotels in this resort.

Hello, Thank you for your detailed feedback on your stay at the Korineum. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the scenery, the food, and the attentive staff. However, we’re sorry to learn about the issues you encountered, particularly with the pool area, gym facilities, and the shuttle service. Your observations about the pool’s cleanliness, the limited balcony space, and the lack of replenishment for in-room drinks have been noted. We will work on improving these areas to enhance our guests' experience. While we’re pleased you had a fabulous holiday, we regret that we fell short of meeting your expectations in certain aspects. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to provide the best service possible.

We were here for 2 weeks with golf tours; our aim was to get our golf license; a beautiful golf course with a fantastic view and very well maintained, our trainer Burcin was very patient with us beginners and with his humor we managed it in the end (just about). The food was very varied every day and there was a great selection of buffets; (now warm dishes please...) Service was competent and friendly, prices were moderate, Turkish wine: delicious! the real wood fireplaces are cozy every evening... the spa component still has potential, sauna small and well-behaved, gym small and well-behaved, no whirlpool, outdoor pool not heated, 14* is fresh... WiFi works, you are not in an EU roaming country (switch it off otherwise it's expensive) trips to Girne with its monastery and castle are worthwhile, if you like shopping there you can buy cheap fake Rolex etc., we felt really well looked after in our golf tour group... the risk is that a lot of golfi golfi fressi fressi drinking drinking is not a diet....

Was the drinks expensive in the bar. How much was the pints of beer, gin & tonic or cocktails?
Answer from Howard S

Sorry for delay- only just seen the question! the drinks were very cheap- mainly because the Turkish Lira is good value for us. A decent bottle of house wine around £12, a pint of beer £3, and a gin/tonic under £4., The A La carte restaurant was an extra 10 Euros, but well worth it if you want a quality meal- having said that- the evening buffet was always plentiful and varied.
