The former military base is now a world renowned hotel and photo location, because of the light. You go here by car for the food, the interior design of the posh hotel and the untouched nature. And because it is a famous place to explore. I mean it used to be a hidden radar station underneath that big mountain of... More

This hotel is more like an exhibition of nordic nature and minimalism. Sometimes you feel you are part of an art performance stunt but most of the time you enjoy the contrasts between the remains of the industrial buildings, the tranquil landscape, the light, the dry climate and the comfort of hotel. The breakfast was simple, hearty and high quality.... More

We loved this place. There are few hotels I've been to that literally transport you to an unexpected place. Fabriken did. It combines great architecture, an amazing setting in a nature reserve with an owner whose enthusiasm for art and architecture is so infectious that it makes you want to stay on and on. My family had a wonderful relaxed... More

This hotel (and Gotland itself) was recommended to me by a friend with impeccable taste, so I had no doubt it would be amazing. To be honest, it was beyond amazing! The landscape where the hotel is located is industrial, raw, windswept, and beautiful. The hotel itself is incredibly stylish, a perfect example of Scandinavian Functionalism. Every little detail was... More

Perfect and extraordinary escape. If your idea of luxury is 5 star fawning service, bathroom amenities and bedroom features give it a miss. If you marvel at starry nights, simplicity and nature then this place is not to be missed. In a lunar landscape, with wide open sky and the Baltic on the doorstep Furillen is unique.

So we popped in for a coffee and ended up having dinner cooked by Filip Fastén Sweden's top chef 2014. His concept was fresh locally sourced ingredients prepared on a outside grill/kitchen. The whole experience was wonderful and if you get chance he is only thee for 4 more weeks, so give it a try.

This is a different kind of hotel, not like any other, one of its kind, located in a very beautiful place in Gotland Island. We stayed in it for 2 nights and had a totally different experience, the breakfast is excellent, we booked the large suite (VAG) which was great, the hotel has free bicycles to grab and use, and... A different experience, Furillen is all about concrete, limestone and glass. During autumn and winter when also the skies turn grey the palette is strangely one handed. Its a place to do little, read books and take a walk and see the surrounding grey rock and sea. Facilities are few except for a selection of old bicykles. Food is great... More

Fabriken Furillen is a hotel like no other. Completely true to the minimalistic Scandinavian style with Hastens beds, sheep skin carpets, wool blankets and an industrial ambience, which is cosy in it own rough way. We stayed at the Studio a 95 m2 apartment with room for four people and a huge living space. The breakfast buffet is out of... More

We stayed June for two nights. Nordic design with all the comforts in a simple but beautiful setting nearby the ruins of a former limestone quarry. Nature has begun the inexorable reclamation of the site which stands on the Baltic Sea with bicycle trails of crushed limestone that can be accessed by the free bicycles provided by the hotel. Quiet... More
