It is very well positioned. The decorations are extremely beautiful. The staff is polite and gracious. The only problem was noise during the wekkend nights. But if you managed to fall asleep, it is ok.

Great location but loud bar witch is fine if you just join the fun. Breakfast was nice and simple. The TV was big and good. Plus there was great pressure and lots of water in the shower. The staff was friendly and helpful specially the pretty blond girl.

Love the nautical theme and looking at the navy photos. This location is very convenient and very central to everything. Nothing fancy but very clean and very friendly helpful staff. I could walk to Gamla Stan as well as the Vasa Museet. Highly recommend.

As you might gather from its title, this hotel was once a sailors' hotel founded in 1908 by (the Swedish) Queen Victoria. It lies in a quiet street right in the centre of Stockholm, very convenient for Gamla Stan and the city centre generally. Unsurprisingly, the atmosphere and decor of the hotel is very nautical, to the extent that I... More

Hotel interior is nice, old interesting things around, hotel elevators are really funny. But all hotel have quite bad smell. Maybe from oldnes. Receptionists are really funny and nice. Breakfast very poor. Very simple and I didn't found what to eat. Hotel are really simple with nice interior.

Just as others have said, noise was a bit much. June, 4th floor, room over street - was loud from people on street. Rooms on opposite side of bldg might be quieter. Breakfast was fine, pretty standard. Really liked the nautical theme! The price and location are best for the area.

We stayed here during the period of Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, 12th -17th May. as a lot of other hotels were very expensive we were lucky to get this for the price we did. It is VERY central to access all the tourist sights / locations you would want to reach, especially Gamla Stan - old town, with its... More

We were in town for business and ended up in this hotel because it was near to the Grand Hotel, which was a tad too pricey for us to stay... This is a wonderful historic hotel founded by Queen Victoria (the Swedish one) about a hundred years ago. The decor is fabulous, nautical and sea-faring references galore, from the port-holed... A basic, inexpensive, hotel but in a very central position within easy walking distance of the Royal Palace, Medieval Museum, the Old Town, the Vasa Museum, harbour tours and the metro. Rooms clean and spacious, with shower and TV. For me, the only issue about the room was a lack of small safe. My room overlooked the courtyard and so... More

The location for the price was the best thing about this hotel. It is within a short walk to Gamla Stan and also very close to a t-bana stop. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Not a hot breakfast aside from boiled eggs, but we enjoyed it for the five days we were there. Staff was friendly and helpful; rooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Örlogshotellet was founded in 1908 by Queen Victoria (wife of King Gustaf V Adolf). The purpose was to give young sailors of the Royal Swedish Navy, an opportunity to stay on land when visiting Stockholm. And at a very friendly price too. Örlogshotellet has, over the years, become more and more popular, not only among military personell. Allthough most of our guests work for, or are guests to, the Swedish Defence. Örlogshotellet offers shower/WC and TV in all rooms. All housed in a very centraly located 1920's building. There are about 40 restaurants, a number of cafees and theatres/cinemas, just around the corner. Breakfast is served daily. ... more   less
