The room was a little cold, so we have asked for extra blankets. The room could have been a bit bigger and the bed also. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and the hotel is very close to the metro station. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning.

Considering Stockholm overpriced hotels, this is one of the best deals you can get. Rooms are small but nice and clean and breakfast is great. Location is perfect with everything you need nearby in a cool neighbourhood.

Everything was ok except that the room had no curtains so it was light from the town all night and daylight at 6 in the morning. The atmosphere in the bar is good and also the breakfast is really good.

Dear 539gunnarn, Thank you for the feedback! I'm sorry you did not get a decent night's sleep because of the light from outside. In the room you stayed in, there are blackout blinds, but no curtains. Sadly, this was not enough for you this time. Please contact us on in the reception if you have any requests, then we get...

I've stayed at the Scandic Malmen in the summer of 2016. I was excited to return. The lobby space has changed since my last visit and no features a barber. The hotel is still a hotspot which I love. The bar always has a nice crowd and even though I stayed on the 2nd floor I didn't hear too much...

If you are in a hurry, need a clean and nice hotel, visit Scandic Malmen. The room is not that big and the bathroom is rather small, but ok. The breakfast restaurant is large and you get your food rather quickly. The main attractions are close to the hotel and the best of all, the entrance to the underground is...

The location was excellent because the metro station was opposite the hotel and the grocery was also very close. The service was very friendly. We were extremely happy to get the room early in the morning even you normally get the room at 2:00 PM. The room was average size and even the main street was very busy, we didn't...

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
