This is a cozy and convenient hotel. Breakfast is great, and there is a wonderful view. It is easy to get to from the tram, gamla stan stop. The rooms are very clean and warm. The wifi signal is strong.

Great location! Helpful and friendly staff! The room was small, but we had everything what we needed. Breakfast was excellent. I recommend if you would like to try a unique hotel in Stockholm. We would love to go again!

We stayed at this unique hotel accommodation for a three night stay in February 2017, on a bed & breakfast stay, since this was a voucher deal the cost was very reasonable. Like most of the reviews on this site it is in an excellent location on the Gamla Stan island, basically it is a one stop tube ride from...

The male evening clerk was unhelpful, but the female clerk in the morning was polite and friendly. Poor breakfast as they clearly served dried out, day-old leftovers mixed with fresh products. The liverwurst was crusty and dried out, and it, as well as the cheese and meats, were discolored from sitting uncovered in the fridge overnight. Yes, it is an...

A relaxed comfortable and different experience. Very central, stunning service, and great views. Plus excellent value. What's not to like? be prepared for small cabins though (this is a boat, after all). I will definitely be returning to the Malardrottningen Yacht Hotel and Restaurant in the future.

Staying here was very convenient being so central, the cabin, though small was very clean and the bathroom modern, and it was also not cold at all despite being in the middle of winter. In fact the entire ship was very well kept, staff were friendly and attentive and the dining room served quality dishes. Recommended!

Near all the locations to visit, sleeping on a boat was one of the top items of our stay in Stockholm. The room is a boat cabin so it is not the largest, but it is part of the magic. The breakfast was excellent.

Firstly, the staff at this location are polite professional. The location of sensational. Stockholm is beautiful. This review is on the small single cabins on the lower level. I cannot comment on upper levels. The points below have all been identified previously in reviews by other trip advisor contributors. In short don't stay in the lower level single cabins. After...

Knowing nothing about this area of Stockholm and on my first solo trip to Stockholm, I trusted Trip Advisor and they did not disappoint. The service is outstanding, the atmosphere unique and genuine. Details mean quite a bit to those who travel often, and this group manages them well. Within an easy walk to Central Station as well as Gamla...

Great hotel- a solid 3 Star Hotel. The cabins are clean, the furniture is a bit old, but that makes it more quaint. The bathroom is newly renovated and very clean and modern, although you cannot control the water temperature. Don’t let kids shower here as the water can be freezing cold and scalding hot without touching the dial. Breakfast...

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
