Lovely room overlooking the small park in front. The staff were very friendly and helpful, advising on train times to the airport etc for our trip home. The breakfasts were full of choice - fruit, yoghurt, omelets, pancakes as well as ham, cheese etc. Gluten free bread was readily available on asking, even two or three different kinds each day...

Hotel Rival is an excellent choice when visiting Stockholm. It is located a short walk from Gamla Stan (the old city) as well as the Fotografiska Museum and very popular SoFo neighborhood. We had a mid-sized room overlooking the park in front, which was roomy and attractive. The lounge bar was fun, highlighted by unique drinks prepared by the friendly...

Perfect. Centrally located, we had one of the deluxe rooms with a balcony. Fabulous shower, comfortable king size bed, plenty of space in the well-appointed room and a small minibar. Breakfast was excellent, as was a room service burger and beer. We were, annoyingly, twice disturbed by a cleaner entering the room without knocking, but ultimately no harm done. Staff...

Great hotel. Lovely and helpful staff. Fantastic location. The hotel overlooks a lovely square. It's a really good hotel, with some lovely local restaurants. The staff couldn't be more helpful. My only criticism is that the plates on offer at breakfast could be a bit cleaner, I had to get staff to give us replacements a few times. But that...

Went there for a long weekend as a birthday present for my wife. The hotel location was good. The breakfast in the bistro was good. The front desk staff were immensely helpful. The concierge was very knowledgeable. The hotel was slightly quirky - with mezzanine levels, a theatre in the basement, carpets which showed rock music scenes, DVDs to watch...

I loved everything: The practical and stylish room, the lovely bed with comfortable pillows and linen, the coffee machine and tea making facilities in the hall with fresh ice available at all times, the customer service and the best - breakfast, which is included in the price at weekends. The possibility to order different types of eggs, pancakes and other...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
