We stayed here on a recent trip to Stockholm and really loved it. It's in a really trendy part of town, Sodermalm, and is convenient to the Metro. The hotel itself seems very young and hip (although we are neither, LOL). The bar was really packed in the evening. The room was average sized, but decorated really nicely. The staff...

My sister and I went to Stockholm for the Red Wings hockey game at the Globen. We chose this hotel from previous reviews. We could not have been happier. It's close to the subway, very clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds, great surrounding area, good restaurant, quiet. I would highly recommend this Hotel Rival.

This hotel has taken a *major* fall. I've stayed here 4 times and will not return. The rooms are funky and a tad awkward, which is OK if everything else is good. The courtyard rooms can be very noisy. The bathrooms could not be smaller. A large pigeon would be claustrophobic. The restaurant/bar has become unfriendly and quite hostile to...

Great hotel, location in a trendy neighborhood near to restaurants and convenient to the metro. The staff was very nice and helpful and the breakfast was outstanding. The room was rather small but was very quiet and lacked no ammentities. A nice business center with free internet. It was a great experience.

I recently stayed at this smaller boutique hotel with my sister, and together we had a wonderful experience at Rival. The hotel has only 7 floors and very trendy hotel lobby with a very popular bar and bistro next door. The desk staff is extremely helpful and were able to give us our room when we arrived at 9am after...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
