Nordic Light Hotel is a contemporary design hotel in the very heart of Stockholm. Here, the Nordic heritage comes alive in every part of the facilities; in the lighting, the menu, the materials and the art. 2017 the Nordic Light Hotel went through a complete renovation and in collaboration with award winning architect Todd Saunders, a joint vision of what makes the Nordics so special, was formed into shape. The result, we dare say, is both inspiring and unique. All 169 rooms include free wifi, a bright and balanced interior design, maximum noise control and high-quality beds for a good night’s sleep. The interior design of the hotel was inspired by perhaps the most prominent of all Nordic elements – the light. The result is simple, clean and transparent in colour and shape, with an ever-changing light scheme.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights from the 3rd-6th June 2022’

Room- When we arrived into our room, it had a very comfortable double bed, sofa bed, good sized TV, good sized bathroom and plenty of charging points to charge my electrical items. I also liked all the Nordic toiletries and the design of the room.

Facilities- Whilst at the hotel, we had breakfast in the main hotel restaurant.- Lykke. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of continental items (meats, cheeses), a few hot items and a good selection of breads and pastries. As this hotel offers free breakfast with their room rate, I felt the breakfast offering was very good at this hotel. On our first night, we had a few drinks in the hotel bar and it had a good selection of local beers and Gins.

Location- This hotel gets a 10/10 for location- It’s near all the major sites, attractions, shopping etc. The hotel is next door to the Stockholm Central station where you can catch the Arlanda Express to the Airport. It takes around 18 minutes and trains depart every 20 minutes. The Gamla Stan (the old town) is around a 20 minute walk from the hotel and there’s plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. If you love ABBA, you should go to the Abba Museum. The Museum is located on the Djurgarden island and it’s around a 35 minute walk from the hotel. Alternatively as Stockholm is surrounded by water, you can easily pop on one of the ferries to the other islands. The ferries are frequent and are reasonably priced. I would also recommend going to the Vasa Museum. It’s about a five minute walk from the Abba Museum and it’s very interesting learning about the history of the boat- It was epic. Lastly I would recommend doing a Archipelago boat trip around Stockholm. The tour takes around 2-3 hours and costs around 345 SEK per person.

Dining- Stockholm is also blessed to have a great number of restaurants in the city. If you are interested in looking for a yummy informal Nordic meal, I would recommend going to Bistro Bestick. The restaurant is around a five minute walk from the hotel and the food is fabulous- You should try the Vension Loin and the Truffle Crème Burlee. If you are looking for a contemporary modern restaurant, I would recommend going to Rolfs Kok. It’s around a 12 minute walk to this restaurant from the hotel. Whilst the food is pricey, it’s definitely worth having at least one dinner here. The food is wonderful and you should try the Beef Entrecôte and the Ox Cheek- It was so good!

Overall, I loved my stay at the hotel & Stockholm and if I ever came back to this city, I would consider staying here.

The price of a dinner package with a three-course dinner for a superior room was 1990 SEK (199 euros). As a Nordic Choice Platinum member, we were upgraded to a deluxe room. For our date, the club rate including only breakfast for this room type would have been 2763 SEK (276 euros).

Our room was ready on arrival at 13:00. Deluxe rooms are spacious rooms facing the street. The decor is stylish Scandinavian minimalist. Deluxe rooms have a separate rain shower and a tub that is always nice. The only criticism we could find was that the quite small television could be watched only from the bed.

The breakfast was pleasantly calm on Saturday morning at 10:15. The food selection was not the widest but of good quality.

The service was friendly everywhere.

I had a problem with my room quite early after checking in, however the staff were able to move me to another room without any problems. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, its not often I sleep so well in a hotel bad as I did in the Nordic Light. The rooms have excellent sound proofing and you cannot hear the city outside. The breakfast was very good too. But its a fab location right on Vasagatan, outside of the Arlanda Express terminal. Perfect stay.

If I had not have eaten at the restaurant, this would have been a 4* rating. The rooms are very nicely designed and the beds comfortable. Not the largest hotels rooms, but for a city centre location acceptable. Convenient location but the rooms on one side of the building directly face an office block so don't expect any attractive views of the city. Breakfast was delicious.

Even more surprising therefore was that an evening meal in the restaurant was such a let down. We had to wait over an hour after ordering for the food to be served (all identical dishes so not a complex order). When the food finally arrived it was cold and the portions so small that you remain hungry afterwards. Simply requests like "no onions please" were not fulfilled and the waiter didn't even place the food in front of me, choosing instead the empty space opposite. I had to reach over and collect the plate myself. The cork in the wine bottle split and instead of serving us an alternative, the waiter attempted to filter the wine in a sieve and serve us this. The waiter didn't even handle the card payment personally, simply left us with the payment machine, said enter the price and left us to sort of the paper receipts ourselves. Considering the restaurant price, it was a bad decision to stay in and eat in the restaurant.

This was one of the most impressive stays that we had in many years traveling to Europe.
I will start by that there is nothing, absolutely nothing negative to say about the hotel, which is huge because there technically should always be opportunities.

Location: 1 minute walking distance from the Arelana Express, a shuttle train connecting airport and the city (the most convenient airport transfer I experienced). Also, it is 3 minutes walking distance from the Central Station, where we ended up departing from to Oslo 4 days later.
I did have a slight reservation when booking the hotel that it would be too close to the train station (with all its bad elements) but there was no notion of that at all in reality.
The beginning of Gamla Stan (old town) is about 7 minute walking distance.
A more hip Norrmalm with great restaurant scene is 10 minute walking distance.
A short walking distance from the famous Ice Bar.

Staff: friendly and courteous, an epitome of hospitality.

Room: not too large but not super small either. We were traveling with a 7-year old child and she had her own full size retractable couch instead of the rollaway bed. The room had simple modern decor in a Nordic minimalist style, very clean with all the amenities needed, including a table fan, which saved my life because everywhere indoors is always super warm.

Breakfast: oh, don’t even get me started on that… anything, I mean anything the the soul desires. The salmon spread is the bomb! As well as the crepes or blitzes (called “pancakes” there) are to die for. We also had dinner there on the first night of arrival and it was fabulous! Great wine selection.

Highly, highly recommended this hotel!

This hotel is in the perfect location for a city break in Stockholm. Situated just a few steps from the Arlanda Express station (airport train), opposite the Ice Bar and on the main Street to catch buses and the Sightseeing bus.
Gamla Stan is a short walk away (10 mins) as is the bustling newer town full of shops and restaurants.

Look no further for a hotel with the perfect location.

Bedrooms are light and modern and styled typically Scandinavian. My room was a corner room on 5th floor (529) with 90 degree window views - perfect for snow watch!
Bathroom
spotless, modern with products to use. Hairdryer, plenty of storage, complimentary tea/coffee and purchasable snacks and drinks in room too. Everything seemed very new and clean.
Recption/bar area had a very calm ambience and Fri/Sat there was a DJ playing chilled music to compliment the cocktails! This hotel gave a great modern vibe, suitable for all ages. A wonderful venue to kick back and enjoy a drink after a long day exploring.
Breakfast was typically continental but with ample choice and nicely presented. No typical English fry-up on offer but hot scrambled eggs and crispy bacon is there. A gluten free section included. During peak breakfast times it may prove harder to find a table.
Luggage storage available which was secure and well managed.
Our room was not cleaned during our 3 night stay but upon alerting reception they were swift to rectify and assist with our needs.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

We arrived at Stockholm central station via The Arlanda Express from the airport and were very pleased on exit to find the Nordic Lite Hotel immediately outside within 50m of the exit. The surrounding area including the Hotel frontage was upmarket and pleasant. The hotel reception staff were efficient and friendly. It was a very hot weekend though, in those circumstances we would recommend requesting a lower floor room. The hotel is modern and has well equipped rooms, although a little on the small side our room was perfectly adequate. The ground floor bar; restaurant and breakfast area was airy and spacious. We didn’t use the restaurant but breakfast was varied and there was plenty to choose from. Around the hotel there was a good choice of other bars and restaurants. The shopping district and city centre is a short stroll away. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the waterfront area. There is metro stop just opposite the hotel if needed.

The hotel is just fantastic, everything from the decor to customer service is spot on, and the location is a dream for getting to and from the airport.
The restaurant in house is higher priced than places you can find in town, but then again the food is of gourmet quality, which makes it understandable; breakfast was included when I stayed also which really got my day off on the right foot.
I'd recommend the hotel to anyone who's happy paying 4/5 star prices, I had no complaints at all about any aspect of the stay.

I stayed at The Nordic Light Hotel for 5 days/ 4 nights for a long weekend trip.

The hotel is about a 30 second walk (no exaggeration) to the Stockholm Central train station and bus/ coach station.

The hotel is modern, swanky and nice to the eye.

The staff were great, helpful and always smiley. They were great with local recommendations and things to see and do.

The hotel rooms were also great. Extremely clean, spacious and modern. They all have an iron, tea/ coffee maker and a large mini bar (which is an extra charge).

The hotel is a pretty decent location to all the well known attractions and a gentle stroll to most areas, but there’s always the metro trains if you want to hop on and off them.

Breakfast is included and to be fair, is pretty decent for a free breakfast. It had hot and continental option, juices and hot drinks.

The hotel also has a bar and restaurant. The bar was great to enjoy and few drinks in with gentle acoustic music.

The hotel was overall excellent and we have a wonderful stay. Highly recommended and I would definitely return.

So booked this hotel through a BA holiday package and let me tell you, at first glance I was think that it won't be a great stay, but actually ended up being one of the greatest places to stay at.

It is located close to the Arlanda Express, as well as the famous ice bar (FYI if you tell them that you are staying in this hotel you can get discounts).
The rooms have a nice feel to it (interior is nice, but it does give you some Ikea, utilise every space vibe)

The breakfast was filling and offers a wide variety of food (from continental, nordics to an actual full breakfast)

The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. From the guy who helped my friends and I check in the middle of the night, to the bar man who helped me teach my friend swedish.

Big praises to Malin though! She was energetic, funny and friendly! She had a lot of insights on what to visit, helped out with the baggage and was one of the most courteous staff member encountered. Really made the last days I stayed there enjoyable! The service she provided was exceptional!

Hi, we've stayed in a deluxe double room with our 15-years old daughter. The sofa-bed for her was very comfortable and pretty big (it may fit even for two persons actually). It was plenty room for three of us.
