I was in Stockholm on a business trip in a different hotel but for unexpected reasons had to stay an extra night and ended up at the Kungsträdgarden Hotel. This hotel must have the most friendliest staff in Sweden. Warm welcome at the reception, at the bar and at breakfast. Nice, small and quiet room. Lovely bathroom, fluffy towels, great breakfast. I did not have the chance to do a lot of sightseeing but I'll definitely come back on a city trip and I already know which hotel I will stay at. Perfect location near shops, ice skate park and train station (15 mins. walk).

Interesting old hotel in the formal gustavian style, which can be observed to better effect away from the main entrance which is down a narrow pedestrianised side street . This access is certainly discreet and the ensuing reception area is tiny. Fortunately it opens up into a stunning covered courtyard which houses the bar and restaurant. It's an astonishing eyeful of metalwork, staircases, chandeliers and skylights; quite the jewel in this hotel's crown. We were located on the open side of the hotel with a pleasant view through a pair of very large windows onto the cobbled steps leading to the actual Kungstradgarden. Our King Deluxe room wasn't overly large but certainly adequate for two whilst being interesting for its high roof, curved inner walls and chandelier. No shortage of storage or shelf space, and the light grey decor was well maintained and restful . We noted the interconnecting door to an adjacent room which, fortunately, seemed unoccupied during our stay, so no noise from the neighbours and, in fact, the nights were perfectly quiet during our entire stay. There were some downsides though. Immediately, we noticed a constant musty smell in the room which was only solved by getting the strongest scented sticks from a Rituals shop in the nearby mall , and leaving them in situ. The otherwise comfortable bed was afflicted by a squeaky headboard which kicked off at any movement. Also, we were not impressed by the large crusty stain on the bed runner which was the first thing we saw when we opened the door upon arrival. Neither could we get the room anywhere near as warm as we would like, despite constant manipulation of the thermostat. Reception did arrange for the bed runner to be replaced immediately. Presumably the comments about the odour and temperature were just noted. We put up with the headboard. Happily, no problems with the bathroom; a heated floor and plenty of space with a large, effective double shower which was completely watertight . The trough-style sink was much better than individual bowls and there was a decent hairdryer to hand. Moving on, breakfast is taken in the impressive restaurant, and the self-service buffet is mainly facilitated via a small room just outside the kitchen; it can get crowded very quickly . There are all the usual items and nothing cooked to order. Plenty of components for the usual staples and everything is good quality and fresh. The self-operated coffee machine seemed quite cantankerous so often worked sub-optimally. We enjoyed our sole visit to the restaurant and we used the bar every evening although there is very little seating nearby. All the food and beverage staff that we encountered were very cheerful and efficient - and, happily, most welcoming after a long trudge around the city. There are loads of restaurants in walking distance, many quite close. Positionally, the Kungstradgarten was ideal for us. Many attractions are easily walkable (Gamla Stan especially so) , a metro stop is round the corner and trams and ferries aren't far away. Communication is no problem - everyone seems to speak excellent english. We were quite self-contained, but the hotel concierges are very keen to offer useful local advice to those that need it. Whilst the Kungstradgarden has a lot going for it, obviously our perception was rather affected by localised room issues. An unfortunate blip and not the norm, I'm sure.

The Hotel Kungsträdgården was an extraordinary hotel experience. Yes, the rooms were comfortable. Yes, the breakfast buffet was excellent. Yes, the location was convenient. But what the made our stay extraordinary was the staff who were generally amazing. A special shout out to the concierge, Kiki. Her recommendations, suggestions, directions, and the like were beyond flawless. Couldn't have had a better hotel experience.

The Hotel Kungsträdgården offers wonderful accommodations and value. We stayed for five nights and didn’t want to leave. The staff is warm and professional. The hotel (room and public space) was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was included for no additional charge and served in a restaurant setting. The selections were very good (the waffles were delicious). The location of the hotel was excellent for a tourist’s needs. We strolled through the garden next to the hotel each evening. I especially enjoyed the seating areas for guests to use on the third floor and relaxed there every day. A lovely place to stay.

I stayed 4 nights at this beautiful, centrally located hotel. I can't say enough good things about it. Before leaving for my visit to Stockholm, I communicated several times with Kiki, the concierge. She was extremely helpful and arranged an excellent tour guide for me (Joel) whose service was invaluable in showing me around. I arrived at 7:30 p.m. - it was dark and raining. I was exhausted, jet lagged and hungry. She recognized my name right away when I presented my reservation and came around from the desk & gave me a hug! I have never felt so welcome at a hotel. My single room was small but spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, good reading light, decent sized bathroom. I loved the heated floor and towel rack in the bathroom. The breakfast selection was not huge but satisfying with wonderful bread, cheese, eggs, meats, fruit, yogurt, coffee machine (including cappucino). I ate dinner all 4 nights in their top notch French bistro. Every meal was excellent. The hotel is within close walking distance of all major sights including the Royal Palace and the Vasa Museum. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in October, two nights, then 8 days later, one more night. The staff at the hotel is friendly, provide great service and speak English well. There is free Wi-Fi, they use a card key and toiletries are provided. The card key has to be used in the elevator and to turn-on the lights. The lighting controls are very interesting in that there are both dimmer switches and on/off swtiches. Being able to dim the bathroom lights is advantageous since you do not have to use a night light. The hotel is centrally located as I was able to walk to it from the Arlanda Express, the train from the airport. You can also walk to the old town, Gamla Stan, and the food hall. Stockholm's major departmetn store, NK - Nordiska Kompaniet, is around the corner, and this is good as they have many restaurants and a food hall and grocery. The hotel breakfasts are great as they have a wide variety of food including, juices, coffee, smoothies, hot and cold cereals, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, waffles, and breads.

Great location, Easy walk to major sights, our JR suite had 2 bathrooms! Most of all the the staff made you feel like you were in a large family home not just passing through. Their concern for how you were enjoying your stay in the hotel and Stockholm felt genuine.
