I recently spent a weekend in Stockholm and was thrilled to have selected Hotel Hellsten for my visit! The location was on a quiet street however only blocks away from many restaurants and shops. The staff were amazing from the time I stepped into the lobby! My room was sunny and bright with exposed brick and original wooden beams! The...

My office actually booked this for me, I never would have found it by myself. The single room I got was the size of a shoebox and not very attractive(I'm sure they have better options) - but if you're in town and just need a bed for a few nights its fine. The staff at the front desk are very...

Spent 4 nights here visiting our son who is an exchange medical student at Karolinska Institute. Hellsten is a pleasant 1 mile stroll from Gamla Stan and in a very vibrant area of Vasastan. Very good breakfast, solid wifi, nice bar, easy printout of boarding passes.... A-plus all-around. If you book in advance, pricing is far less than Gamla Stan...

Beautiful bedroom with four-poster bed and dark wood furnishings. Modern bathroom with underfloor heating. I really liked this place. Just behind the main road, and central. Cosy little bar, and quiet lounge area with tea and coffee available all day. Good breakfast.

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
