Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Although a high amount of the traffic moved onto the new highway, this place is still swarming with people. It is on the national road with a big sign in front of it, so difficult to miss.
The pension has a big private yard, where cars or even a bus can be parked safely.
The place is relatively quiet. You have to know that it is isolated, there are no shops or other money-spending places in walking distance.
Food is very good and mostly is a local cuisine.
It is a good option who want to spend time away from the noise of the city, but still a few minutes drive from it.

I have stayed here several times and the rooms are clean. Dinner ( meat ) is recommended. Very friendly staff even though the level of English is not high. No too much noise from the nearby highway since the rooms are located at the back. On the terrace in front the noise could be disturbive.

This is a very good option for a overnight stay. Owner is very very polite, being a perfect host for everyone. Also the price is excelent.
Motel is conveniently located before Sibiu's entrance.
They are preparing food at request.

Pension Izabel is an all too familiar story for everyone who watched the movie “Cars”. Once a must-stop for all the truck drivers on Romania’s busiest road, Pension Izabel had to reinvent itself once the 500-meters away motorway had has been opened for traffic. Fortunately enough for the new kind of tourists, the only thing that gives away its lorry-linked past are its oversized parking space and the oversized portions offered by the restaurant. Just 5 km from Sibiu airport and 7 km from Sibiu city center, Pension Izabel is ideal for those wanting to explore Sibiu's arias of natural beauty, go mountain biking or visiting the near-by XIV century fortified churches.
We stopped there for two nights as part of a group, taking over the entire 8 rooms lodging capacity. The rooms are not large, but well furnished, tastefully decorated and equipped with a LED TV. The bathroom in our room was fitted with a shower cabin with multiple hoses. Shower gel, soap and a hairdryer were also provided. Everything was squeaky clean. The breakfast may look frugal [tea, coffee, orange juice, boiled eggs, sausages, slices of ham, butter, cheese, jam, cereals etc.] but talk to the kitchen lady and you will see that the local’s hospitality is not a myth and you will be provided with all you want.
WI-FI signal was good both in the room and in the restaurant.
Now to the serious stuff: the restaurant is a temple for meat-lovers as the ones who run the place also own a small meat-processing plant that produces all the local meat wonders ranging from traditional sausages to smoked meat and pastrami. The menu offers things like “the knight’s sword” [several schnitzel, pieces of pork, beef and lamb spiked over a tray with wedges, roast potatoes and grilled vegetables] that can easily feed 8 people, “the sausage barrow” or the “meatball [mici] barrow” leave little place for imagination…it delivers what is says. This is not to say that this is not a place for vegetarians – they will certainly find some good thing to eat [various local cheese, salad vegetarian cooked meals etc.] but one has to recognize that this is the place for carnivores.
To conclude: a wonderful family-run business that offers visitors lodging and food with warmth and hospitality.

This is a perfect place to stay and eat on your way to Sibiu. The best "mititei" ever! The rooms are nice and clean the people are kind and respectful. Try it and you will go back for sure! The hotel is right on the road , plenty of parking space and free wi-fi. If you want to meet the manager ask for him and he will personally take care of you.

I was stunned to discover this place which is located not far from Sibiu.
Maybe the venue is not the perfect one but, if you're on the road and want to stay for a night or you don't want to stop in Sibiu (beautiful city, by the way), you can stop, sleep and eat at Izabel.
The food is very good, the place is spotless (very, very clean) and the people are very friendly and, most of all, very honest.
I forgot my purse there, they found it and returned it to me with all my stuff (nothing was missing).
So, if you pass by and want to have lunch or dinner, or if you want to sleep for a night, please try it.
