I am hard pressed to find a fault with this hotel. I had a very pleasant stay. It’s location is very central and with a short walk you are in the midst of shopping, restaurants and sites.
The rooms are very comfortable- they appear small but are not at all cramped. Comfortable bed with a pillow menu.
House keeping is very responsive and will get you anything from an extra fan, iron to other essentials.
The breakfast spread was more than I expected and very good- I wish I had taken pictures to post.
And the staff overall is just pleasant, happy to help.
The gym though small is well equipped with treadmill, elliptical, TRX bands, weights, yoga balls. One of each but better variety than most hotels.
It’s a lovely hotel and I would stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for first time stay in Gothenburg for Rammstein concerts at Ullevi stadium, only stayed here for the first night as it wasn't as close to the stadium as I ideally wanted and there was rather a lot of unexpected noise due to construction work going on next door. The room I stayed in was rather small, but very cosy. Bed was extremely comfortable, there were lovely toiletries provided, but I was disappointed that there was no coffee or tea provided with kettle, even in budget hotels it is in all the rooms. Staff were very friendly, the breakfast included was wonderful, so much choice, but be aware that coffees like a cappuccino or latte is extra charge. The hotel bar was closed, but the Bishop's Arms traditional English pub is a part of the hotel and was very busy when I had dinner there, so I recommend it. This hotel is trendy boutique style, but is a very old hotel dating back to the 1800s, so a lot of history here. It's perfect for anybody who wishes to stay in style in the centre of Gothenburg. Tram stops are just across from the hotel. It's a lovely hotel and I would stay here again, but the lifts are really small and can't fit in more than four people with a major squeeze and no tea and coffee in the standard rooms can't possibly give it a 5 star status, 4 star at most.

A lovely stay at this authentic and traditional hotel in the heart of Gothenburg. A lovely room with a very comfortable bed. The lack of air conditioning may bother some people but was not an issue for us. With the window opened, the room remained fresh and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet is second to none and located in an amazing hall that almost has an outdoor feel to it.
Covid measures were in place but never intrusive.
The Bishop's Arms pub within the same building is authentic and serves cask beer and delicious and authentic Fish & Chips which tasted absolutely "right".

All in all, a great place for short stay when visiting this great city.

Nice and friendly staff, very good breakfast, room up to what was expected and the location is super. Everyone from the reception to the staff that provided service at the breakfast was ever so friendly. The lady who did the room cleaning also did take the time to have a little chat. That's what makes the day!

This hotel is amazing. The hotel is situated in the heart of Göteborg. Close to stores, restaurants and cultural sites. And it is only a short walk from the ferry. The staff are friendly and helpfull. The hotel is very well kept and there are fresh flowers everywhere, even in the rooms. The breakfast is very good, with a lot of local produce. One of the best breakfasts we have seen. The Wifi works, unlike on many other hotels. On our end of the floor I counted three hotspots for six rooms. The chokolate on the bedside table is very good. There is a nespresso machine in the room for coffee drinkers. Unfortunately, we don't drink coffee, but the machine can also be used to make hot water, for tea. We will reccomend this hotel, to anyone whom is visiting Göteborg. Thanks for a nice stay.

We only have minor stuff that would have improved our stay. I would have liked some baked beans in breakfast buffet to go with the scrambled eggs and bacon. The tv only had ten channels and no HDMI. With good wifi it would have been nice to be able to stream netflix to the tv. But these are really minor stuff. We didn’t go the Göteborg to watch tv/Netflix :-)

Although this hotel is located at the center of the commercial heart and is being renovated, we had a terrible room! We couldn’t sleep because of the tram stop right outside where trams ran around the clock and literally shook the ground and made loud noises all night! Plus, our room had 3 tiny windows with latches that looked like they belonged to the last century and that were difficult to operate. In fact, when we arrived in our room, there was a Coke bottle attached to one of the latches to keep it open. The bathroom had 2 larger windows, but one of the latches was very hard T operate.

The best part of this hotel was the courteous and friendly reception staff. Note that they don’t have a porter and guests are expected to handle their luggage.

The breakfast is a good spread in a nice room.

But, overall, given the problems with sleeping and the weird room we got, I would NOT recommend this hotel.

This centrally located hotel is housed in a palatial building dating from 1889. The entrance hall and the main staircase are stunning.

We booked a Junior Suite with a romantic package. The price was 325 euros. This weekend was very busy in Gothenburg and the hotel was fully booked. We got an upgrade to a specialty suite called The Maharaja Suite.

This suite has an area of 80 m2. The Maharaja ballroom can be attached to it and the total area will become 150 m2. We didn't have the ballroom but the living room was very spacious and completely enough for us.

There was a striking package waiting for us on the living room table. A bottle of Deutz champagne, a huge fruit plate with chocolates, and roses. All suites get also a bottle of wine and there was a half bottle of red wine.

Our package included also a room service breakfast. That was quite modest or we didn't know that you will get exactly what you order. For example, if you put 2 salamis, you will get two thin slices of salami, etc.

We have had problems with this same package at every Elite hotel. This time it was that the room service breakfast was added to our room bill. It took 10 minutes to sort it out.

I have stayed in well over 100+hotels in all over Sweden and the Elite Plaza Hotel in downtown Gothenburg City is one of my absolute top three favorite hotels in the whole country.

There is two Elite hotels in the city, the Elite Park Avenue Hotel and this, the Elite Plaza Hotel, which is the only five 5*star hotel in town. It is located in the west part of downtown Gothenburg and is facing the Dome Church and is also near to the water/the canals, and it could be described as sort of a hidden gem.

It’s a smaller hotel with only about 120 rooms in total which allows for gives a more intimate and exclusive experience and with more engaged and attentive personell.

This is the hotel where all the famous people have stayed when in town (such as the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Liza Minnelli have stayed here) and even the King of Sweden himself is known to have stayed in this hotel.

Undoubtedly the best hotel in Gothenburg by far and I really can recommend it!

We were very happy with our three night stay here. The location was ideal for walking to all the sites and we had an enormous 2-room junior suite that allowed us to visit with a friend of ours who was traveling with us and staying elsewhere in the hotel. Our initial concerns about street noise (room was on a corner across for a street full of restaurants) faded as the establishments all closed by 10 or 11 PM, and were not overly bothersome even at full volume. We were provided with two fans that helped moderate the warm weather, but think this hotel, like most others in the world, will have to install air conditioning to counter climate change. I guess I would have to think twice about staying in the dead of Summer. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent and well managed considering everyone piles in during the last hour. We had dinner the first night in Swea and it was truly excellent. We had a car and the parking arrangement worked well. We can recommend highly.

You need to just take the Flygbussarna from the airport! It’s super easy, clean, and inexpensive. You can buy the Flygbussarna tickets online. The hotel is a short walk from the central train station where the bus lets you off- or you can take a very short cab (or cabs) from central station to the hotel- probably 3 minutes by cab.

Yes, they have a deal with the gym "Friskis & Svettis" next door. You just pick up a ticket in the reception, then you can work out out for free in the gym.

Yes there is a parking one block away, better park the car first by the hotel and unload your luggage to the lobby. they will tell you where is the parking. it is 25 euros a full day+night if I remember correctly.
