Good location in the centre of the city. Walking distance to green space and to major sightseeings, as well as many buildings of the University of Göteborg. The hotel is in a renovated building. My room on the back was quiet and up to standard, but noise insulation from noisy neighbours in the corridor is not good. The elevator is old and small. I always used the stairs. Breakfast buffet is sufficiently diverse and of good quality. The room is small, but there is a mezzanine in case there are too many people.

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff are so incredibly kind and friendly and willing to help. 24-hour coffee and cookies much appreciated, as was the free waffle bar every afternoon. The only downside was the top-floor rooms were rather warm and didn't seem to cool down even with fan and windows open. But I would certainly come here again.

We stayed here for just one night. The room exceeded expectations, it was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated with an impressive bathroom. Breakfast was satisfactory with a few options. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to Haga and city centre. Overall well worth the price.

We arrived and were told our room had been given to someone else by mistake and that the hotel could only offer us a smaller room with 3 beds, but we were 4 people travelling.

Instead we were given the option of transferring to another hotel in another part of the city which we accepted and were promised compensation for not being in the old town (Vasa) district.

The new hotel was then informed that we had been promised compensation for staying in the room with only 3 beds and no arrangements were made. The hotel manager refused to speak directly to us and it took 3 days before the reception let it slip that it was the same manager of both hotels.

We felt we were mistreated and cannot reccomend highly enough to stay far far away from this hotel.

The young man working at the desk in the evening been so helpful to help me to solve a bank card problem who had nothing to do with the hotel. He took on his busy shift to find a solution for me. Besides for the price the rooms , the breakfast, and the location are perfect. I recommend 100%.

Dirty bed sheets!

I found hair from other guest on a towel and the bed, they hadn't changed the bed sheets. I had to ask them several times to change it. This hotel is disgusting and dirty, spiders everywhere and really, really dusty. Do not book here.

The Vasa is in a great location. Out of the busy downtown and Avenun area, but close enough to get there in five minute walk. The hotel is small and cozy, nothing luxurious. If you plan on vacationing in the hotel, this is not for you, but it is a nice clean comfortable place near everything nice in Gothenburg to those that plan on seeing more of the city than the hotel on their trip. The staff is friendly and the breakfast, albeit modest, is fresh and tasty. There are very nice restaurants and bars along the street as well as nice coffee shops and a supermarket near by. It is a fantastic value for the price. Don't give Excellent because it is a humble modest hotel, leaving a bit to be desired by the more savy travellers, but those that aren't too particular about all the bells and whistles at a hotel will be pleasantly surprised by the Vasa.

The Vasa is a great hotel. Superb location - it was about a 5 minute walk to the main part of the city and has lots of nice cafes near by.

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful - sortin out our airport taxi for us etc. It is a very relaxed hotel - there is no one waiting on you hand and foot but I like that - staff are there if you need them but not in your way.

Breakfast was great -freshly baked crusty bread, jams, eggs cheese meat, cereals, yoghurt - very substansial - kept us going throughout the day!

Our room was lovely - really good size - not just a room with a bed- we had a sofa and chairs in there which was nice to relax after a long day - there's always that risk of falling asleep if you relax on the bed!

There is a lounge to relax in as well which was very useful for our last day when we didn't fly till late. The hotel also held onto our bags all day whilst we pottered about for souvenirs. Gothenberg itself is great - particularly at Xmas. There are loads of Christmas lights and decorations and 2 xmas markets with hot glogg and traditional gifts.

Brilliant place to visit and brilliant place to stay!

Found this hotel in the internet by chance and am so glad I did. When we first booked the hotel staff emailed me with precise information on which trams to get from the Central Station and where to go once off the tram, we also requested an iron/board in our room which was there waiting for us. The hotel staff (family run) are so friendly and helpful. They even stock Gothenburg Passes (although they had ran out). They have maps on the reception desk and are happy to point out any places you want to visit. Breakfast in the mornings is vast, cereal, toast, eggs, yoghurt, crisp breads, ham, cheese, tea, coffee etc. and it's buffet style so you can help yourself as much as you like. We stayed for 3 nights and on our first night went to the Pasta + restaurant which was fantastic (although service wasn't). The hotel were happy to change up our large kroner notes for us whenever we asked. They also sell drinks and chocolate in reception (which is 24 hours) so if you get a snack attack it's no problem. Also recommend Universum, Paddan Boat trip, Lilla London Restaurant and the many McDonalds we visited for lunch - Sweden is expensive so we saved our pennies for lovely meals in the evening and fast food for lunch. Overall we loved Gothenburg and this was helped by the lovely staff and service we received at Hotel Vasa.
