Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rooms are small - a standard Ibis room is much larger. The bathroom is also squeezed. Good enough for a single person. No cleaning of the rooms - I stayed 5 nights there and had to empty the trash bin by myself. The cleaning ladies were very unfriendly - those were the only people I've met in Finland who didn't smile in reply. Breakfast was good. Heating of the room was ok. The ventilation of the kitchen is not good, therefore in the evening one could smell the main dish in corridors and rooms. The sauna operated according to schedule.

Terrible experience. Expensive hotel that is not at all worth the money paid. We went to Rovaniemi for few days and the holidays were destroyed by an awful dinner at the hotel. When the experience was reported to the staff they didn't care about what happened and started to share a number of excuses. I don't recommend this hotel

Cheap as chips compared to alternatives so can't complain too much, but this is a no frills, does the job abode. With that said, if you need somewhere to hunker down for a few nights then by all means, go for it. A couple nights is more then enough.

Cheap hotel near Centrum. Stuff is not that nicely behaving and some parts of the hotel are having serious moisture issues causing mold which you can smell. I can't recommend it if You have any breathing health problems. Anyway, because it is cheap you get approx what you should

We didn't know what to expect as it was a reasonable price for rovaniemi. Pleasantly surprised as couldn't fault it. Breakfast included was buffet style and only a 10 min stroll into city centre. Approximately €30 in taxi from airport although you could get bus in city centre. 10 min walk to catch direct bus for santa village.

Perfect place for a budget stay. Food was excellent with both breakfast and dinner buffets having a vast choice of well cooked local food. Room was warm and basic with a comfortable bed I couldn't ask for more as I had no intention of spending all day in it. Tv worked and there was a fridge all we needed. Staff could not do enough for us all though they were extremely busy and when a taxi did not turn up to take us to the airport on our way home the manager/owner dropped everything and took us himself you cannot beat that

The rooms were warm and some days cleaned. The staff were over worked some times helpful and cheerful and other times snappy and didn’t care to help. The food was terrible, we had Christmas Dinner here and we know we are in Finland but what is it with Chorizo sausage stew with plum sauce. To be fair there was also cold slice ham and turkey which we also had for breakfast everyday. Still not sure what the shower situation was as the water flooded the en-suite floor. On the first day the toilet roll holder fell off the wall, we reported it straight away, our room was serviced 4 days and it was still on the floor 7 days later. The hotel is close to town, a real nice pizza shop and supermarket, my advice to travelers is beware, if staying more than a couple days, perhaps go 4 Star. My advice to the hotel is please update your towels

Hotel is very close to city center and restaurants. Warm and cozy. Clean and decent. Rooms are a bit small. Restaurant is nice, but very little food options. In some rooms heaters were not working. So needs to improve. Would recommend to anyone.

The owners were nice enough, and the space for sure was adequate minus a tiny shower that leaked water all over the bathroom floor leaving it wet and slippy. The location is good - a short walk to town and easy enough to get around. The breakfast was typical and simple but they seemed to reduce items as our stay was 10 days we saw that variation. For example fruit - one day the delivery “had not arrived” so there was apples - which reduced selection. Someone cut the oranges into ridiculously small pieces. The housekeeping was poor in terms of daily maintenance- one day our room wasn’t cleaned, the floor not swept ever and I found an apple under the bed. They left the dirty glasses so we brought them down almost every day and asked for new ones. The sauna is nice but the women get 5-6 and 9-10 pm and the men get 6-9pm giving them an extra hour and better time! Other women commented on this. Hope this helps

We stayed in the self contained chalet on site called Kokki. This is a charming little 2 bedroom place, with kitchen/living/diner room and bathroom. The accommodation has everything you need, and is lovely and warm, even when it is -14c outside - the underfloor heating in the bathroom is so good! We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 young children and it was the perfect size. Breakfast was served in the dining room of the main hotel building. There is a fair amount of choice, and the food was of a good standard. Location is good. Overall I would highly recommend the Kokki chalet as a great place for families
