Beautiful resort and very central and close to the airport. Just walking minutes away from Santa’s Village. The rooms are nice, but not sure you get what you pay for as they provide you with extras, such as wine, champagne and more. However, there is a catch, there is a hefty price tag associated with each item, unlike other fancier hotels we have stayed at in the past. Young children are also charged as adults. We spoke with the food wait staff who were very friendly and extremely helpful. They had mentioned that during their entire time working for the past 6 months, they had only seen the Northern Lights 2 times total, one time in December and another time in March, it’s currently April 5th. If you are expecting to see the lights from these expensive rooms, the lighting/windows and the neighboring units do cause lots of glare and light pollution making it difficult to see. You will be forced to go outside or spend another $100USD for a tour, if the lights even decide to show in Rovaniemi. The front desk staff is not very friendly or welcoming, however, you will feel safe as it seems as though their main objective is to watch your every movement on their premises. Just be prepared as their jacuzzis are outside facing and visible to everyone with very little privacy. I would not recommend Glass Resorts to friends or family. Not sure whether every room has a sauna, but ours did and that was a nice touch.

A beautiful resort set just off the Santa Claus Village. The apartments are very comfortable with each having a sauna and an outside hot tub. There is a buffet breakfast to suit just about every taste - cereals, cold meats, bacon, mini hot dogs, eggs, fruit smoothies and freshly baked bread. The evening meal is of a high quality. The staff on our trip were just excellent - every single person we dealt with was helpful and genuinely pleasant. It's a good base for things like snowmobiling , husky tours and other experiences. Like everything in Finland, it's not the cheapest, but the whole set up is excellent and that includes the staff (such as Nina and Verna and others whose names I didn't get). As above, it is a 100m walk to the Santa Claus Village and though that didn't interest me much, for others it would be vital. Highly recommended.

We (family of 5) just spent the week leading up to the Easter weekend at the Glass Resort and would really like to praise the team -- an overall exceptionally joyful and relaxing stay. While the resort is located close to (behind) the Santa Claus village, the layout has been set up in a way that means the location still feels secluded and private. The entrance to the resort area is thru a driveway that leads to the reception / main building on the right hand side. The restaurant is also located in this main building (and thus you take breakfast and dinner unless you stay in the Premium lodge, in which case you can opt for the chef to prepare your meals in the lodge). From the reception, a walkway in a slightly roundabout / courtyard style leads around two rows of (regular) bungalows, each of which contains two rooms. Given the proximity of each room pair, they are very good when sharing among members of a family or close friends -- the doors are literally only two steps away (but you do have to step outside). We used two rooms to split ourselves up and found this very convenient. The view from the rooms is into the woods, which we found very nice. Each room has its own sauna -- that was our absolute highlight to relax after a day out on excursions, and a hot tub next to the cabin. For those who want to prepare some light snack in between, there is a kitchen in each room as well, equipped with a fridge and stove, cutlery and dishes so if one wants there is good ability to prepare a pasta or a salad. Coffee and tea are also available (complimentary). The downstairs area comprises living room and bathroom and then there is a master bed upstairs. Overall, we felt the room was very nice, perhaps a bit on the smaller side but sufficient if you either travel as a pair / couple or spend time outside on excursions. It's probably not a setting you would want to spend your entire day in over a week -- but clearly, then, almost no hotel room is ... The restaurant is stylish and the quality excellent. There is a buffet breakfast, offering a variety of choices from hot and cold dishes, sweet and sour, muesli and eggs, cheese, meat, fish, fresh fruit, bread and smoothies/juices. While we soon had our favourites, we also found something new to try every day. Your choice of drinks is served by the team -- our special thanks to Emma, who was particularly caring of us during our stay. The evening menu offers a choice of starters, mains and dessert with the possibility for kids to pick from a separate child menu. Again we found the choice excellent, working our way thru steak, reindeer, whitefish and other excellent picks. The quality of the food is really very high. Perhaps a small note for improvement might be that the kids portions are a bit small for older kids / teenagers. We have found, though, that the staff were very accommodating when we asked for larger portions for our youngsters. The team are extremely kind and good spirited, it's an international group from a number of countries and that makes for a lovely setting with great conversations between courses. Rounding things off are our comments about the team at reception, who are really just great as well. We arrived very early in the morning on the overnight train from Helsinki and had an excursion booked at 2:00 pm the same day. Our travel agency had neglected to mention (and I also overlooked) this would normally mean we would have no room ready upon arrival and thus no ability to shower/change. The resort team were super nice and managed to let us into one of our rooms by lunchtime, which was incredibly helpful to get everyone into warm winter gear for the Husky safari. Throughout the stay, the team was always extremely kind to us, very helpful in assisting to change reservations and just super super kind. It made such a difference and we really felt very much at home. Overall, as said in the beginning, an extremely nice stay, we can only speak in the highest tones about the Glass Resort and would give a wholehearted recommendation to everyone to come here.

Excellent service and amenities. The staff at Glass Resort is truly exceptional. Especially Nathali and Francisco. They were so warm and friendly we always felt at home. The glass igloos were spacious and well appointed. Having your own heated jacuzzi & sauna on made our stay.

There's so many 'unique' accommodation options in the area, however as we only had our car for part of our trip and were flying our of Rovaniemi we decided to stay at the Glass Resort based on the excellent reviews and close to airport location. Easy to book online, and great pre-arrival communications from staff answering our queries. Our driver picked us up in a 'luxury' minibus at the time we booked and was extremely friendly and offered lots of advice. We arrived at the Glass Resort, and alothough earlier than checkin time, were quickly handed our key and the driver loaded our suitcases on to a sledge and pulled them to our accomodation. I'd previously emailed to ask for room 7B, and they'd kindly given us this room. Upon arrival our driver took us around the back of the igloo to show us how to use the hot tub. He then took us inside and showed us the essentials of our room. Wow! It is just stunning! You enter and on the left was a large bathroom with toilet, shower and sauna (the shower has aromatherapy oils when you start it). There is a kitchenette with coffee maker, fridge, hob, kettle, dishwasher, crockery, glasses, cups amd plastic ware for use outside. There is also a small wardrobe for clothes which had three robes, three pairs of slippers and a safe. There is a tablet that you can use to order room service or essential items and also chat to reception. You then walk through to the 'living area" with full floor to sky windows. There is a chair, dining table for four people, sofa bed and a TV. A spiral staircase takes you up to the main bedroom, with a large velux window and the most stunning views from the glass windows. There's even a button to press in the room to clear Snow from the windows. Sadly it was too cloudy both nights for us to see the Northern lights however it was still a mesmerising experience laying in bed looking out at the beautiful Finnish scenery. The outside hot tub was amazing, there's something wonderful about sitting in a hot tub surrounded by snow, watching the reindeer pull the sledges behind you. We booked on the DB&B rate at the Gallis restaurant (reviewed separately). The restaurant is beautifully decorated, small and intimate with floor to ceiling glass windows. Breakfast consisted of half a dozen hot options, from memory sausages, bacon, eggs, pancakes and porridge. There was also lots of cheeses, hams, pastries, muffins, cake cereal, yoghurt, sourdough bread (which I overheard them say was made in house), jams, honeys, and a few location Finnish delicacies. It was a great selection and tasted amazing! This was a bucket list experience for me and it exceeded my expectation. I would highly recommend staying at the Glass Resort to anyone looking for a unique stay when visiting Finland.

Wow! This place is fantastic! We arrived late and they kindly delivered sandwiches and a charcuterie board to our room. The glass apartments are fabulous, well equipped and private. The hot tub is hot and clean and the service provided by all of the staff is exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble for this team of service professionals. The Gallis restaurant is a lovely restaurant and everything we ate was excellent. The lobster was also fantastic! The local area is ok but aimed largely at children but if you book excursions this is not a problem. We were sad to leave this wonderful, tranquil experience and would love to return in the future!

Amazing place! The resort is beautiful and each apartment has a private sauna and hot tub. Everything inside thoughtful and good quality, from a warm blanket to snuggle up on the sofa to underfloor heating, dishwasher, nespresso and dressing gowns and slippers to walk round to the hot tub in. Upstairs sleeping, looking up at the stars, with the lightest, but warm duvets and comfortable pillows. The restaurant was cosy with full height windows looking out onto the snow. Lots of food choices, beautifully cooked and served. The staff were excellent. Very efficient and were happy to help with all our requests. Nothing was too much trouble and acted upon immediately. Within easy walking to Santa Claus village, but tucked away quietly from the noise and crowds. The resort offers a collect and drop-off from Rovaniemi airport, again very efficient - they were waiting for us and dropped our suitcases at our apartments. On leaving, they collected us and luggage from the apartments. I would definitely recommend The Glass Resort and would choice this as a place to stay again.

We stayed here for three nights in February 2024. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the food was generally excellent. However, there were two major drawbacks that would prevent us from returning. First, there was no effort to remove genuinely dangerous ice buildup on the steps into the reception and restaurant areas. If you’re young, maybe you don’t mind falling, but for older folks (59s / 60s) it is a concern. Certainly in winter you expect snow; however, there’s no excuse for leaving entrances unsafe when they could be easily cleaned in just a few minutes with a good pick. Second, the units have the beds up in the loft and the rest of the facilities on the lower level, including the toilet. The levels are connected by a tight spiral stairway with very small, highly angled steps. Good luck trying to navigate it in the middle of the night when you need the toilet - you’d better be wide awake, and leaving the lights on downstairs too. A small point, some of the wait staff were confused as to which items are included in the dinner packages, though they tried hard. Overall, quite a disappointment, definitely not worth the $950 USD per night that we paid.

Response from Glass Resort, Owner at Glass Resort
Responded 9 Feb 2024
Dear Steve, thank you for leaving review. Feedback is very important to us and we have forwarded this to our management to improve our services and to take these points into concideration when planning the future. We do our best to keep the area as unslippery and safe as possible in all weather conditions. We are very sorry to hear that we did not succeed this time, and we have gone through the maintenance procedures to prevent this in the future. Every Glass Apartment has similar stairway to upstairs, on the loft. We do our best to have informative pictures in our reservation channels. Our team is also here to help to set the sofa bed in the downstairs if the guest does not feel comfortable with the stairway. We hope your holiday in Lapland was otherwise successful and you enjoyed your time here.
