Justa 20 minute drive from the Olympia Ferry terminal, this premise is part of the Finance and Business University, place at the end of a lovely garden and overlooking a lake in the distance. We stayed in the building where reception is. The rooms are clean, have all the modern conveniences - kitchenette, internet connection and ensuite. There are 5...

First off; there ARE no cheap places to stay in Finland, outside of.... well... park benches. So once you get that out of the way, just understand that this place seems a bit dodgy outside--there's a dirty pub across the street, and just a lot of what looks like street urchin hanging around, but it's pretty safe overall. Just understand...

Everything is good except it's too hot to live in summer. It would be nice if the bigger window can open.Supermarket is just opposite to the entrance of the building , nice. Don't forget to search anything u need in the common area, like a roll of tin foil....

The staff at Hostel Academica are spectacular. The property is a student housing dormitory of one room en-suite efficiency apartments that they rent out to tourists in the summer when the university is out of session. The cost was a small fraction of staying at a hotel in central Helsinki, and we were completely pleased with our experience. There was...

I didn't expect too much from this hostel and it pretty much met my expectations. It was reasonably good value for money compared to other options near the conference I was attending. Staff were fairly warm and welcoming (by Finnish standards), the room was a good size and contained everything I needed. However, it was far from perfectly clean, the...

We were three of us (students / teenagers), so we booked a three-person room. If I remember right, that was an extra bed in a comfortably spacious 2-bed room. I booked through their online interface. The reception was friendly. I don't recall which building we were in. The room was spacious enough for three people and had a small kitchenette...

Helsinki is not a cheap travel destination, so I thought this accomodation is a good value for what they offer. Apparently there are two buildings, old and new, with the older building is currently being restored. I stayed in the new buildings, which is modern and clean. You will be given a keycard which operates two front doors, lift and...

This is a good hostel to stay at. Very clean, a little spartan but better than seedy plushness by far. The rooms don't have pots and pans etc. but there are plenty in the common room and you can just select what you need and take it to the room. Nice wee stove (with oven) and fridge - but no...

This was my very first European hostel. Can't say it was completely terrible, as I did make friends with a local Finn roomie. However, I found the staff to be a little vile. They were great the morning I arrived and when my luggage arrived (a day late haha), but for the following days whenever I'd ask them anything they...

Great personnel, good value, room was clean and spacious, with kitchenette and small bathroom with WC. One of the best things was the location of the hostel-only 5 minutes walk and U were in the city center and the opposite direction will lead you to the beach!I hope I will return there next Summer!
