Scandic Helsinki Hub is a central haven for many visitors, who celebrate its prime location close to shops and attractions. Guests commend the modern, stylish atmosphere and the extensive amenities, including a praised breakfast, gym, and sauna. While the hotel's service and cleanliness receive positive marks, some guests note room noise and extra charges that detract from the perceived value. Despite these concerns, the hotel's well-designed rooms and efficient staff contribute to a pleasant stay.

This is a great addition to the Helsinki Scandic range, converting an old building into a stunning new hotel. It is pretty big (over 300 rooms) but there is enough space for everything to happen.
Rooms are lovely and well designed. Rooms sizes and shapes vary because of the building conversion. Some have baths. The superior rooms are all gorgeous and face the church square. Everything in the room worked well and internal noise insulation was excellent. Good air-con and free wi-fi. Blackout curtains were efficient and lighting very well managed.
Breakfast is in a vast but multi-roomed area with some seating outside in the atrium. Nothing was missing from the buffet and despite the number of guests it all worked well with plenty of seating.
The location of the hotel is also good, very central, 5 minutes’ walk from the Kamppi shopping centre (and metro) and 3 minutes’ walk from tram stops.

Scandic Hotels are all pretty good in my experience and this is no exception. Calm, quiet and peaceful hotel. Great breakfast. Decor great. Really clean. Very welcoming and was a nice treat to find some chocolate and a note in my room too to thank me for being a Scandic Friends members. The location is great - very close to all the shopping. Impressive!

Dear thomprobert, Thank you for your stay and for putting your valuable time to give us such a versatile feedback. I'm delighted to hear you had enjoyable time with us. The location is definitely one of the best in Helsinki - you can find all the shopping, museums, theater and the main attractions few steps away from the hotel. Maybe you could try our cold water bucket shower in the sauna next time! I wish you a sunny spring and welcome back soon! Kind regards, Kind regards, Marjo Front Office Duty Manager

Marvellous staff, excellent rooms, fancy place! Everything in order and for a such reasonable price. Will be visiting this place soon again, whenever I spend time in Helsinki. My 6-year old kid was with me and she fell in kove with it also. Location is perfect, you can choose a room with or without bathtub, breakfast was very pleasant, rooms quiet, views very nice and relaxing. Absolutely one of the nicest hotel visits in my life, usually travelling and hotel life feels inconvinient because it is big part of my work and personal life. Life changing experience. And photos of the place are in this case lower quality than the hotel itself

I cannot get over the fact that I found a previous guest’s OLD CHEESE in the minibar of my room?
I went to the counter to say about this.
The “apology” was the removing of the old food and a bar of chocolate.

I also asked for the bed linens to be changed, because after finding someone’s food in there, I really did question whether they have impossible time standards for their employees, so they don’t have the time to do a proper cleaning?
I’m blaming the chain and managers here. The people doing the cleaning are absolutely not paid enough to do so.

This was our second stay at this centrally located modern hotel which was opened a few months ago. This time we booked a Superior Family room to get more space. According to the room description, these rooms are 29-49 m².

Despite my partner being a Scandic TOP Level member, we got probably the smallest one. The 29 m² doesn't sound very small but when the space was used for a huge vestibule, the actual living space was cramped. I wonder if the sofa can be opened for an extra bed. After moving the position of the sofa, we could watch television from it. The bathroom was spacious. It was quite practical but two hooks for the hand towels would have made it perfect.

The next morning after complaining, we were moved to another Superior Family room which was somewhat more practical. There was more space around the bed and a separate sitting group but the television could be watched only from one chair and the bed, not from the sofa. The bathroom was smaller but it had a lovely big and deep bathtub. The hook policy was a little strange also here. There were hooks but there was not enough space for hanging the hand towels properly.

The new room had glasses and cups for three. The previous room had only two of each. So the previous family room was probably meant only for two persons and the new one was for three persons. So if you are only two, don't book a family room. A normal superior room is better. We had our first stay in that category.

The color scheme was very stylish in both rooms but for us, practicality is always the most important thing in hotel rooms.

The breakfast was excellent on both mornings. We had also one enjoyable dinner at the hotel restaurant with friendly service.

The value for the paid 139 euros per night was after all good considering that my partner got also two 15-euro restaurant vouchers.

This is a genuinely great hotel for a trip to Helsinki. It is superbly located… we walked easily down the Espe to the market and harbour and we also walked easily to the Tallink terminal for a day trip to Tallinn. The hotel in only one block from Stockmann’s and is only 15 minutes max to the railway station.
Breakfast is an incredible selection of foods to suit every style and tradition and it is immaculately presented. We used Il Centro restaurant at the hotel as well, one evening and the food and service was top-notch. The bedroom was immaculate with funky features and excellent comfort and housekeeping service. All in all a really great hotel.

First of all: The location is great. Close to the central station and all the main streets as well as the harbor are easily reached by walking.
I liked the design of the hotel and the breakfast which is included was good. A few things missing but still a solid choice of foods.

I booked a Standard room with a King bed although I was traveling alone and they checked me into a room which def. did not have a King Bed so I had to change rooms as I do not like to sleep on small beds. Plus I paid for the bigger room.
I asked for a late check-out on a Sunday and they wanted to charge 10Eur per hour which I find a bit of a rip off. In this case they should not provide this at all as in other hotels of this category it is either no problem or they tell you they cannot offer you a late check ou.
I also didnt like that when I asked to store my luggage the luggage room is open and accessible to everyone and they don´t even look who enters. I could have easily taken another bag or someone could easily walk in and just walk away with any suitcase. I think it is not too much to ask to provide bag tags for this and have someone from reception walk to the room to pick up the right luggage.

Other than that it is a decent hotel. I liked that they have a Sauna and the Gym was accessible 24/7

Positives: Location
Breakfast
Comfy beds
Nice balcony on Superior Plus rooms

Negatives:
Some trash was left from the previous visitor on the table with coffee.
Some noise could be heard from neighbor room through the walls.
Service at the reception: We were told the hotel was fully booked when asked about the possibility to stay one more night. However, Scandic website showed us several free rooms. Ended up going to another hotel due to this, feeling a bit unwelcome.
Slippers listed in room properties, no slippers given though. Not that they were necessary.

Summary: All in all a nice hotel and would stay another time as well.

A hotel information card indicated that I call 131 for room service, but there was no phone in my room. The receptionist admitted that there had been some problems and not all rooms had telephones. I spent four nights in the hotel, but my room was never cleaned. After my first day, a cleaner knocked on my door late in the afternoon, but since I had returned having been out for much of the day, I declined the service. I was out all day for the next two days, but my room was never cleaned nor towels changed. Indeed, I don't see how I could have requested that other than going down from my third floor room to reception since there was no telephone. The only sign in the room that I could hang on my door said "Do not disturb"; there was none requesting the room be made up. I regret that I didn't book an Airbnb! It's a new and stylish hotel, though my room wasn't very practical: no closet and you hang up your clothes on the wall! The seisovapöytä buffet breakfast was excellent, and there's a nice sauna.

I stayed one night at this hotel and was very impressed. A nice, clean "business-like" hotel with lots of cozy areas to relax or work. A very peaceful atmosphere continues through the whole hotel. The superior room was very spacious and clean and had a lovely scandinavian interior. Some noices carried to the room from the inner ward and the rooms smoke detector had a flashing light which was a bit annoying in the dark. On the website, the hotel describes the gym as a fitness-room, but it's in fact a whole gym with new and versatile equipment. First I was shocked how loud the music was but then I realised that the music can be adjusted by the door. Right next to the gym was sauna area. I like that there is a separate sauna for men and women and that there are large pin coded lockers. In the middle of the two saunas, there is a common cooling area with cold bucket-showers. The hotel breakfast was a very versatile, surprisingly fresh and with vegetarian options. Falafels, tsatsiki, chickpea pancakes with pea dip for breakfast, absolutely! I would have hoped that there would've been the chiapudding that was advertised but maybe next time. Altogether, I was very happy to stay here and would definitely come again!
