Can’t beat the location of this hotel - it’s right next to the central railway station and plenty of public transport options, plus there are so countless things to see and do within walking distance. The room was clean, well-maintained and comfortable! I’d definitely stay here again in the future.

Great location nearby the Helsinki train station.
Good location near Helsinki train station. The reception lady staff was delightful and checked us in. Being a member, we received free premium wifi access and later checkout until 3pm, and we paid Euro 20 for another two hours for a room that stayed till 5 pm. Cleanroom. Minibar, tea and coffee maker and iron board available. Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed it. Comfortable bed.

No free drinking water was provided in the room. However as per the reception staff tap water is drinkable so we boiled and drank.
Only one issue we had with their reservation team was not able to modify the date for a non-refundable booking. Even though other hotels in Germany and Luxembourg allowed us to modify the dates for similar type booking.

This hotel has a very central location at Helsinki Central Station.

We booked a standard room for 97 euros but as an IHG Platinum member, we were upgraded to an Executive room on the top 8th floor with stunning views.

The rooms are not extra spacious but very practical. Executive rooms have complimentary water and chocolate, better bathroom amenities, and bathrobes.

The breakfast was pleasantly calm with friendly service. The food selection was very good. The breakfast was included in our room rate. Otherwise, it is 20 euros per person.

The reception staff was very friendly.

The location and the breakfast were great!! The buffet had a big variety of goods to choose and all of them were delicious. Two things however made me add to this review only 3 stars. First of all the room had no safe to lock your belongings in case you wanted. We paid more than 1000 euros per room for 6 nights and because it was a standard room there was not a safe in it. This was the first time i met something like that in a 4+ star hotel.Secondly, the first day i washed my hands and the soap was over. The rest 5 days noone changed the soap in my room. I let the maid know and the reception as well and they still forgot to put soap in my room. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean but the communication between staff should be improved.

My son and I stayed the last couple of days at the Holiday Inn. The room was on the small side but had everything we needed. The bathroom was of a reasonable size. And a great bathtub that we both used on both days as we are not used to the cold. We had dinner here both nights and it was reasonably priced and it was great to eat, kids under 13 est free if the adult eats a main course meal and when you’re paying hotel guest. The breakfast menu was amazing and we enjoyed our breakfast very much. We probably ate too much. I also visited the female only sauna, which is closed in the afternoons, it was lovely to warm up after spending hours in the cold. I would recommend this hotel to other families and couples. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful with the exception of the chap that was on last night at the bar/restaurant, he would benefit from additional customer service training. The location of this hotel is ideal and close to many Finnish attractions. Be mindful if you want an organised tour, you need to book this in advance as everything was booked out when we were there. We needed to figure everything out our selves. The hotel could also benefit with a tour desk or display in different languages. Most Finns do speak English. We had a great time and definitely will be back in the future. Hotel is close to Finnair bus as well as train station.

I knew the location of the Holiday Inn City Centre, and this was my primary reason for selecting this property on this occasion - right next door to the train station, and 200m walk from were I was having a couple of meetings. Ignoring the meetings, its still a perfect location due to it's proximity to the train station and only 10min walk from the waterfront market area (not sure that's the name of it, but you probably know what I mean)

This was my first stay at this property, and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the rooms. The reception & restaurant staff were also very professional, pleasant & well humoured - even though the house-keeping staff were a little dour.

The advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the railway station and the platforms that run to the airport - the walk to the platform was all of 50 metres.

We found the hotel quiet, comfortable and very functional. The staff were obliging and more than helpful.

The breakfast buffet was substantial and varied. You couldn't find fault with the food.

Overall an excellent stay and one that we would be happy to stay at again.

Great Location and in the city centre with its transport hub.You can walk to lots of tourist places within 15 minutes leisurely. The Hotel itself was bright and airy. The room was a fair size with comfortable bedding and facilities. However, the stinch of sewer smell was a big let down. I have never stayed in a hotel regardless what category with such a bad persisting smell. There is a serious plumbing problem and potentially, a health hazard with back flow of sewer gases. Breakfast was the usual affair with a limited choice of hot food. Lighting in the room was rather puzzling too. When you powered off by the master switch, the left and right spot ceiling lights work by the actual side reading lights don't work.I would have award it full marks had it been the sewer issue.

Location is good being so close to the train station as I was coming in from Tampere.

Room size is good as I was there for business.

Good walking distance to the shops, waterfront and supermarket is just around the corner.

Breakfast is a good selection for the holiday inn, others I’ve stayed in didn’t have the same range.

The fitness gym has all the necessary bare minimum equipment (bike, air walk, treadmill..) however no wifi signal in there.
Needs a good clean, equipment is looking a little worn.

We arrived late in the evening from Berlin and had next day May Day lunch with our friends in Helsinki city center. The hotel is conveniently located at Helsinki Central Station. So there is easy transportation by train from the airport.

Our plane landed at 21:55 and already at 22:50, we entered our hotel room. Trains via Myyrmäki arrive at this side of the station where the hotel is located.

We had booked a standard room with my IHG points. Because of my IHG Platinum Elite status, we were upgraded to a top-floor standard room. Previously these rooms were executive rooms with bathrobes and better toiletries. Not anymore. So there has been some downgrade concerning the room equipment.

The rooms are not very spacious but practical. The views from the top-floor rooms are great.

Breakfast is never included in the point reservations at IHG hotels unless there is a lounge where you have access. At this hotel, breakfast costs 21 euros per person. It is slightly better than the usual Scandic or Sokos Hotel breakfast in Finland. So maybe it is worth the price.

Hi There, We stayed here late last year and it's a really nice hotel. As you get off the airport train just head to the North West Corner of the station concourse and as you come out, the hotel is adjacent to the station. Really quick to get to and convenient for sightseeing Helsinki. Grab a half hour to check out the central library on the overside of the road. It's free and the modern architecture is grand in design.
