Spent 1 day / night at Purola. Friendly owners (spoke good English as well), excellent food, wooden sauna, nice guest rooms, tranquility, animals. Perfect for a quiet getaway or with kids. Snowshoe walking, fishing, riding with horses, all can be arranged.

We stayed here two years ago and had an opportunity to come again. Place is perfectly clean and neat, inside and outside. Owners are very welcoming, horses just beautiful and breakfast fresh and delicious. Don't miss the traditional finnish sauna on the board of the lake. You can even have the pleasure of setting the fire to the ready-laid firewood in the sauna oven - and one matchstick is enough! This is exceptional and real Finnish experience.

We went to Purola for a few day get away. The farmhouse is far enough from the hassle of the town.the dinners Pipsa makes are really something special and the horses work like a dream. Just plain lovely place to relax and enjoy finnish nature.

Spent 4 nights here in May/June and it was great. Beautiful farm, lake, and surrounding area. Delicious breakfast and dinner with special homemade bread daily. Accommodations- room, sauna etc. all modern farmhouse style and very peaceful. The nice owners offer a comfortable family vibe but with plenty of privacy and space. Nearby forests and nature walks were easy to drive to and fun to see.

A quintessential pleasant piece of the Finnish countryside. Very professional and gracious hosts await you at Purola. The breakfast was way beyond my expectation. The lakeside sauna was a special treat, the water temperature was perfect for a post sauna dip. I can highly reccomend a stay at Purola farm.

Stayed two nights as part of a tour of Finland. Easily found, good location close to local centre (supermarkets, banks etc) but down a graded but untarmac'd road, so felt properly rural. Blissfully quiet. Warmly welcomed by Frens and Pippsa, who pointed us in the direction of localnational parks ( recommended: Fairly was walking.) Accommodation was stylishly and newly furnished, and spacious, both the bedrooms and the communal spaces, which also offered tea and coffee facilities, TV and local jnformation Didn't get to try the the Icelandic ponies, but they looked healthy, happy beasts. Highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the wood-fired sauna down by the lake. Magic. Recommended.

My wife did icelandic horse trekking while I hiked in the fabulous nature seserves and national parks of Saarijärvi. Wondeful breakfasts and dinner at the Purola Farm crowned the experience. The host family is the best, with Pipsa and Franz making the guests feel welcome at home. Fully recommend a visit.

We stayed here at Christmastime. The farm is a quiet, well-cared for property, and includes a genuine Finnish sauna (very large with a separate showering area). Wifi access was strong and reliable. I recommend arranging meals because you really are out in the countryside and dining out options are limited, although you can find some places to eat. Pipsa (the owner) provided delicious meals that varied every night. She set a very romantic table. We booked a double room with shared bathroom and found the room to be spacious and the beds comfortable (breakfast was included and very good). Everything was spotlessly clean. For an additional fee, Icelandic horses can be booked for a ride in the country (helmets can be provided). What a beautiful ride we had through the fields in deep snow. Simply lovely !
