Skjaldarvík provided exactly the calm, relaxing atmosphere we were looking for after a long day's drive, and the friendly welcome that put us at our ease at once. I particularly appreciated the quick tour of the guesthouse that Dísa gave when we arrived, as it helped us get our bearings and decide what to do first -- soak in the...

We booked a couple nights at this guesthouse based on the reviews I read on trip advisor, and it was a great move on my part. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and the morning breakfast is plentiful. The guesthouse sits on the fjord, and offers beautiful views of the water as well as the mountains...

I stayed at Skjaldarvik Guest house with my two grown-up kids during a winter trip in Iceland and it was the best accomodation we had. Large clean rooms. Fantastic bathrooms. A very confortable lounge with a view to the fjord. Plentiful coffee and tasty breakfast selection. We all loved the hot tub (open till 11 pm). And I should not...

In april 2016 we stayed at Skjaldarvik Guest House for a week (diving trip). A cozy, familial place in the middle of nowhere. Geese, horses, dogs, wide grassland, the beautiful fjord and the mountains. Very creative interior, clean, comfortable beds and areas to relax, tasty food - every detail is done with a lot of love. The pool outside is simple,...

We LOVED this place! It is perfect for exploring Akeyuri and the surrounding areas. The decor is incredible - all upcycled materials. It was so clean and comfortable and the staff were amazing. They had a northern lights wake-up service - and yes, we did see the northern lights. The hot tub was awesome and the mountain and fjord views...

Stayed here just one night. Room was small but comfortable, was traveling with a friend, were initially given a room with a single double bed, staff was kind enough to accommodate our preference for a room with 2 beds. Beds were comfortable, shared facilities were also clean with extra towels, didn't ever have to wait to use the bathroom. My...

The best stay I had while visiting Iceland. The place is an old nursing home which still shows a little. Real friendly people working there, gave me some great sightseeing tips off the beaten track. Good coffee from a machine available 24/7 with homemade chocolate cake! Diverse breakfast with different cheeses. The hottub is great to end your day with...

This beautiful property is located less than ten minutes from the city of Akureyri but feels like a rustic country retreat. The rooms and corridors have a bit of a student hostel vibe but the quirky, hipster element is strong and there are many lovely corners including a hot tub balcony, a reading lounge and beautiful grounds where you can...

This guesthouse is in a great location just outside of Akureyri overlooking the fjord with snow capped mountains all around. The view from the lounge area is incredible. The view from the hot tub is even better, we were lucky to see a clear night sky and a full moon shining across the fjord whilst sat in the pool one...
