We enjoyed our stay here. They upgraded us to separate rooms for our teens and my husband and me, and we both had attractive, stylish rooms. The bathrooms were down the hall but easy to get in. The front desk staff was helpful and the...More
My sister and I loved our stay here! Such a relaxing, homey place. I can’t say enough good things about the staff here. They were so caring and considerate. They alerted us to weather issues, made sure we were safe and comfortable the whole time....More
This quaint little guesthouse right outside of Akureyri provided a comfortable sleeping place while traveling the Ring Road. Because it is just outside Akureyri, it provides the perfect setting and opportunity to see the Northern Lights. They even offer to wake you up when the...More

We spent two nights in the guest house. To summarize the main points from our point of view:

+ Nice room
+ Hot tub
+ Horse riding options

All in all a great place to stay :)

Thanks for asking, but I am not the innkeeper. My wife and I were simply guests at Skjaldarvik. We are familiar enough with Akureyri to say that if you are coming from Reykjavik, you will pass by Skjaldarvik before you reach Myvatn and Dettifoss. If you are arriving at the airport in Akureyri, it would be a little bit easier to go to Myvatn and Dettifoss first.
You are going to love it!
