Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

we book more expensive room with hot tube (it cost ~50 euro per night), but was dispointed with it totally - the temperature is very hot(really more then body temperature) and cann't be regulated, i can seat only few minutes and looking in such tubes in public pools see that only few people can find such temperatures appropriate to have pleasure.

The curtains in the rooms don't block the light good. You can easily read a book when using them. For such price and icelandic midnight sun curtains need to be good to allow people sleep well, be healthy and prepare for next good day. In response to darkness, the pineal gland begins to produce melatonin. Melatonin is a serotonin-derived hormone that promotes sleepiness. However, exposure to light blocks the production.

Nice clean apartment with a small kitchen, and a patio. Comfortable bed, nice to have a small table and chairs to use for breakfast. We took advantage of the washer and dryer on site which we were happy to find. We had a small issue with the TV but it was fixed within 5 minutes by sending a WhatsApp message. Nothing remarkable, but a nice stay.

This place is one of the best option you can choose for a stay in whole Iceland. Great value for a hot tub place. Superb view, location is great, scenery is exceptional. Definitely recommend for all kinds of travellers. But the best part is the staff, very friendly and helpful. Our greatest praise goes to Mrs. Pálína at the reception, she is more helpful than almost anyone I've ever met in the travelling business. She and this place cannot be recommended enough. 10+++.

All members of our family agreed this was clearly the best of the 8 hotels we stayed in during our drive around Iceland's ring road. Our stand alone apartment was nicely appointed, had plenty of space, and had a nice view down the hill to the S. tip of the fjord. It was very comfortable and well lit. It had good appliances, a hot tub, washer/dryer, a good big fridge, etc. Excellent value. Paulina at the front desk made it easy for us to check in despite our not knowing exactly when we would arrive. She was friendly/helpful. She kindly helped me call our next hotel when I was worried we would not arrive there until after the front desk closed and was having trouble reaching them via the phone numbers I had. It would be a long but manageable walk (maybe 25 mins) to downtown Akureyri - but it has plenty of parking and driving distances in Akureyri are very short. And it is right next to the (free, northernmost) botanical gardens. Anything to improve? We had trouble figuring out the stovetop - so maybe instructions for that. If you get an apartment with a hot tub: We were confused/worried that the hot tub was empty. But when you turn the unit on, it fills with heated water. And when you turn it off, it drains. We were only here for one night but this would make a great choice if using Akureyri as a base for a longer stay.

️️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ️️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amenities ️️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location Good little comfy apartment to stay in Akureyri 🇮🇸 ! The bed was really comfy and it was very nice to use the Hot Tub on the balcony in the evening while having a beer ! The only thing could be that the water should be 2-3 degrees warmer…

Firstly, Saelhus were hugely accommodating when we had to move our trip to COVID. We eventually stayed here over Christmas 2021 and we stayed in one of the 3 bedroom apartments. It was a fantastic set up but it was evident that there may not have been many people staying here recently. From day 1 of us being there, lights didn't work, the fire alarm sensor was beeping. Both of these Saeluhus fixed but as we went into the Christmas/Boxing day period when there were no staff around, we opened up the Barbecue and it was totally unusable (dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years) and the hot tub didn't. Although the overall stay was enjoyable, this did put a bit of a dampner on things. Akureyi itself is incredible and we really enjoyed being here.

We stayed here for three nights and had a pleasant stay. Lovely studio for two people and we enjoyed the hot tub and views. The studios are well set up for a few days and we walked into the centre (15-20 mins) for our evening meals. The Manager was lovely and full of personality.

Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Even ocean view from our living room. I belief not all the hotel properties have a view like this. Included everything we needed for a great weekend stay. We were upgraded to a larger house that included a hot tub.
