#1 of 2 hotels in Husavik
Beautiful cottages with private facilities in Husavik, the Whale watching Capital of Europe. Excellent location on the scenic "Diamond Ring Road": The Husavik-Dettifoss-Myvatn-Husavik round-trip journey. The location is extraordinary as it has breathtaking view, abundant bird-life, spectacular nature and wildlife, country comfort and urban activities and service in town. A unique mixture of country comfort and urban live.

We rented 2 cottages for 2 nights, each for 1 person. Besides being badly maintained 20 years after having been built, with bird droppings on the balcony and dangerous with electric cables hanging out, the bedroom in each cottage was the size of a cupboard (3 walls adjacent to the beds), without bed lining. The bathrooms were ridiculously small with a non-hygienic curtain around the shower. Those cottages claim to have beautiful bay views, which was certainly not the case for one of our 2 cottages. At 11,000 ISK a night per cottage, the value was bad considering the poor state of those cottages and the lack of proper kitchen equipment. Furthermore, after I had written a first review with a rating of 2, the furious owner unethically called our guide who blackmailed me to have it removed. It was the first time in my life such a brutal censorship was imposed on me. I therefore downgraded the rating to 1.

During our road trip in camper around Iceland we met by chance the lovely owner of these chalets in a restaurant in Húsavík. We can never thank him and the charming ladies for their hospitality. The chalet we were lucky to stay in was very cosy and gave us a perfect view of the wildness of Iceland in the morning. It is only a few kms from the town and you are surrounded by nature overlooking a lake. And in a warm and so welcoming chalet. You made our time in Husavik a special memory. Thanks again

Lovely private cabins set amongst trees and water, with a yummy breakfast and even warmer welcome. I hear they are staying open longer this winter and suggest taking advantage of the privacy and sense of silence near to charming and sometimes bustling Husavik, on this northern bay of Iceland...

We spent 3 nights in this comfortable cozy cabin within 5 minutes of Husavik, but felt as if we were totally isolated in this beautiful natural environment. Our cabin overlooked a small lake with many ducks and birds, but beyond the lake was a fjord backed by snow-tipped mountains. This is NOT a groomed luxury accommodation. It is comfortable and cozy with a modern bathroom and small well-equipped partial kitchen. It had 2 small bedrooms and an open living room/ dining area and kitchen. It isn't roomy, but the location and view is perfect. We stayed in cottages/cabins throughout our two weeks in Iceland and this setting was one of our favorites. They also offer laundry service returned in one day, which we were very happy to use, since it is difficult to find lodgings with that service in Iceland. Check in and out was easy and the young woman in the office was very friendly and helpful regarding the facility and things to do in that area. We fixed our own breakfast so cannot speak to that. I highly recommend this lodging if you enjoy the outdoors and are comfortable in a somewhat rustic cabin setting.

Seven of us stayed in the Villa. It has 2 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and at least 6 bedrooms with varied bed configurations. There was plenty of space with a dining room and two sitting areas. One can walk into town on a dirt track plus there is a path around the pond. One bathroom sink was slow to drain and the problem was addressed the same day we reported it. Overall marvelous.
