Great modern hotel in city center

PROs
- Location, Location, Location - you can walk to many places in the city center
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Rooms have black out curtains (which is essential in the summer)

CONs
- None, great hotel in our experience

TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS
- If you are driving a car beware there is no onsite hotel parking. There is a parking garage right across the street but if you are parking overnight beware that the garage does not open till 7am. We had an early morning flight and had to leave at 4am which meant that we had to find street parking, whilst not impossible it does take some time to drive around since you are in the city center and you may have to park several blocks from the hotel.

Had an amazing 4 night stop at the Canopy, Reykjavik. It is worth booking alone for the breakfast which was excellent, most hotels in the area seemed to charge extra for breakfast and by the time this is added in (as food is expensive in Iceland) it made them very expensive for nowhere near the same quality of rooms.

The room was modern and everywhere clean, great facilities in the room (Nespresso machine, kettle, big TV, Bose soundbar, Fridge, huge bed and comfy chairs) Definitely comes recommended and a great location for visiting the city centre of Reykjavik, just off one of the busy shopping streets. We read some bad reviews about a nightclub making noise, but we didn't hear a thing! Book it now!

We really enjoyed our four night stay here. Beautiful modern hotel decorated in cosy, Scandinavian style with classy urban touches. Welcomed with a large chocolate bar and friendly staff and you can go to evening complimentary tastings in the restaurant. Impeccably clean and tidy in all areas. Rooms had lovely bathrooms with high pressured warm showers, nice shower products (including shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower gel). Coffee machine, kettle, reliable Wi-Fi and iron/ironing board. My only slight criticism is that the room got very warm in the night so we turned heater down. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of hot options, fruit, cereals, pastries, juice, hot drinks etc. Centrally located so you can walk to all the main parts of the city and surrounded by lot lots of great bars, shops and restaurants in area. You can hire bikes too and bus stops are minutes away for most excursions. I would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel!

Whilst only here for 1 night we had a lovely stay in room 506 which we specifically requested, refusing an upgrade. This is a king junior suite and you should choose it. It’s the only room on the top floor with a balcony of its size that looks out to the sea and distant mountains. The street and bar are noisy but the sound is distant from this room even with the windows open. The balcony is huge, a roof terrace really. The seating area is as big as another hotel room. The bathroom has more space than most and an excellent shower. The only negative was the cleaners office and station is outside this room. But they were quiet and the size of the room means the bed isn’t near the door. We were given complimentary water and chocolate. The bar and restaurant are warm, cool and vibey with tourists and locals alike. The happy hour was a bargain with 2 glasses of selected wine for £6, cheaper than London. The breakfast is extensive and varied including standard fare and Icelandic delicacies. The shelves are full of books and vinyl and you can take a record player and vinyl to your room to enjoy. The location couldn’t be more central. It is the most central location in fact with tourist sites and museums equidistant and popular shops and restaurants 30 seconds from the door.

Eat at Messin 5 mins away for the best fish I had all trip at a bargain price and local feeling vibes £40 for lunch). Eat at Snaps Bistro 5mins away for a very lively local atmosphere in comfortable and familiar “bistro” surroundings - £70 for 2 mains, starters and a glass of wine.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Good location in town makes walking around the city very achievable to most areas.
Really liked the breakfast, good buffet options and quality.
Dinner was also good we tried one evening
Happy hour drinks 4-6 was good when come in from a days tour
Room was comfortable and facilities of decent quality. We felt not quite the same as we saw online but still good. Like any hotel depending on where you are you might get some noise. We were on 3rd floor and seemed to be close an external door that kept my wife a awake a few times
Service was good in all areas we went to.

This hotel and it's location continues to amaze me. The staff is super friendly, and the location is perfect! You are literally within walking distance to many dining establishments and activities! The view from some of the rooms is breath taking so be sure to ask for a room with an ocean view!

The front desk area is small but efficient! The staff is very friendly and they can even help you organize tours! Across from the desk is a small sitting area, and a snackbar. You can get reasonably priced sandwiches, muffins, drinks, etc and just take it to the desk for purchase. There area also 3 elevators near the desk that you can take, and they are all secure and require a room key to operate!

The rooms are small, but also very comfortable! The doors are safe with multiple locks. The bed also has electrical outlets on each side, and a small night stand and clock.

The breakfast is one of the best I have seen! There is a variety of items to choose from and the food is also very well cooked! There area also a multitude of drinks to select (orange juice, cranberry, apple, water, etc) and plenty of fruits for the healthier eaters!:-)

I didn't see any direct connections, but the WiFi is very strong and fast! We were even able to stream some programs on our devices and it was not a problem! The WiFi is free and did not require any codes or passwords.

The hotel is relatively quiet if you are able to get a room away from any hallway doors. The housekeeping staff is also very quiet and friendly. Everyone that we passed said hello and wanted to ensure that we were having a great stay!

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to all of my friends. The location offers you everything that you may need (dining, shopping, views, etc), or you can just stay in the hotel and have everything if you are doing a working business meeting!

I've never stayed at a Canopy Hilton before or been to Iceland, but both were great! I arrived early than normal check-in but the helpful staff at reception were able to sort my room for me.

The entrance lobby is very welcoming, with the reception and 24-hour coffee bar/cafe located on the ground floor. I had a room on the 3rd floor (#331) and walked into a warm and welcoming room with a nice Nordic feel to it. The room didn't have any air conditioning so it was a little warm even though it was below freezing outside.

The bathroom, with a heated floor, was spotless and had plenty of amenities and towels available, with a big rainfall shower.

The bed was very comfortable, but having to keep the window open meant an awful lot of noise late (Friday) night from the bars or a party outside and meant I had a terrible nights sleep until I closed the window, but was then too warm.

The bar and restaurant staff were helpful and friendly and offered guidance on any drinks or food. Breakfast was included in the restaurant with lots of hot and cold options available, all of which were very good.

The hotel is located in the Old Town and is easy to walk around the area and down to the harbour, with the airport bus connections only a few minutes walk away.

I'll definitely consider this hotel next time I'm in Reykjavik.

Really nice hotel, we only stayed for one night but had a great time. The hotel is very centrally located yet quiet, the building itself and rooms are fairly new so are not showing any signs of tiredness. The included breakfast was also great!

The location of this hotel is excellent: as a tourist, anything you like to explore is within easy reach by foot. The rooms are spread out among 6 buildings so I cannot generalize according to my room which I found to be modern, quite spacious and with a great bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bed was very comfortable and the Nespresso coffee machine was a nice touch. Reading the previous reviews, I was a bit sceptical about my room as it was facing the Miami Bar, which for some people is home to hell. Let say the COVID-19 helped me out since the new rules in place allow clubs to stay open only until midnight but even so I never had any issue with noise (I am a light sleeper myself).
The breakfast service was very nice with a big spread of cold and hot dishes, the staff attentive and helpful.
I loved the interior design: modern and sleek yet not oppressing. The communal areas are so concepted that there is always a quieter place to seat and have a drink, read or checking stuff on PC. Fast and reliable wi-fi.
Highly recommended and be happy to stay at this property again. Hopefully soon.

Flew in early before taking a week long cruise with Viking around the entire island (highly recommend that by the way).

Really liked the location, although as one downside there are many tourist buses and vehicles that are not allowed to pick you up for tours directly at the hotel (it is located in the City Center and I assume they are trying to minimize traffic). Fortunately the bus stop (#6) where tours can embark from is only a block and a half away and super convenient.

Used Hilton Honors points for the stay. Required more points than I was anticipating but better than other Hilton properties in town. Although they did double charge me - which is why I give the review 4 stars.

Front desk was great, super helpful and very friendly. Had no problem storing our bags once we arrived before our room was ready (we got there mid morning and knew we would be leaving to go to Blue Lagoon so this was no problem. Actually if we had to do over again I would have gone directly to Blue Lagoon from the airport to save money). They also stored our bags once we checked out the next morning as we went on another tour before boarding our ship.

Lobby is very cool with lots of books and funky vibe. Coffee shop attached that did not look like it got much use.

They are very Covid conscious and we felt as comfortable as we could in the current environment. Masks required and worn by all employees (and most) guests. Plenty of sanitizer available

Since I am a Diamond Honors member they upgraded me to a beautiful suite overlooking the ocean. I have to think this is probably the nicest room in the hotel. Fantastic view, great room, big and spacious with a lot of windows. Bathroom was spa quality. The only downside was no AC...and Reykjavik was experiencing a heat wave (61 degrees in August, lol that is a heat wave!) so we were a little warm. Comfy bed, super plush linens.

Breakfast was included and was fantastic. Lots of selections and very tasty. Full big buffet, can't think that there is anything you could have wanted that was not offered.

Location is also prime. Short walk to nearly anything. We weren't there long enough to explore much but enjoyed eating at Krost - excellent food within a few blocks.

Would stay here again if returning to the area. Highly recommend
Overall, a great stay

Yes. Just know you need to arrange most cabs (other than the ride to the airport) in advance. By advance I would say at least 24 hours before the needed trip and in busy times 48 or more. You can also take the bus easily.

The main dock area that I saw was about a 20-30 minute walk. I was there in the winter so I didn’t see any large ships but the boats that take you on tours leave from there for sure.
