My husband and I stayed in one of Gunnar's apartments for three nights in June 2012. Our stay was fantastic - we can't wait to stay there again. The location was great - off the main area so it was quiet at night but just a few steps from downtown. Gunnar was a great host - he stocked the fridge...

Gunnar was really helpful and very welcoming when we arrived. He also gave us a great map (hard to explain but one side was normal and the other side had the houses and buildings of all the roads illustrated on it ie. gunnars house was painted yellow and all the landmarks like the churches were drawn in). He also gave...

We stayed at the House of Spirits for one night and it was a great way to end our tour around Iceland! Gunnar was the most thorough, friendly and informative host we encountered in any of the Guesthouses we stayed in! He was very good about email communication before the trip and answered our questions when we arrived. The Guesthouse...

The studio we rented (as a couple) was ideal for a few days in Reykjavik. Gunner was extremely helpful before our arrival. He answered all my questions and gave me very detailed instruction on how to find his place. He also offers guided tours if needed. We had issues with our flight and came in a day late which he...

I will keep this short and sweet. The location is perfect (we saw the northern lights above our room). It's in city center, everything is a short stroll away (tourist info, coffee shops, pubs, churches, everything!) Gunnar is amazing! he is helpful and kind and informative, and just wonderful to have around! he helps with tours and travel and everything...

Excellent apartments in the heart of Reykjavik but still in a quite area, great for couples or groups that want a "self-catering" place. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly.

Our apartment was on the top floor with nice views across the city. The location is perfect: quiet street but literally less than a 2 minute walk to the old city center. Many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Apartment worked out very well and was always warm and cozy when we returned because of the use of geothermal heat...

We stayed at HoS for 8 nights and it immediately felt like home. We were in a studio apartment on the third floor of the building, and the fact that Icelanders actually lived there made us feel like little residents ourselves. Gunnar was a wonderful host- the night we arrived he gave us muesli, milk, tea, coffee, juice etc. for...
