As most people have said, the hotel itself is nice enough and the staff are friendly, however, the location is not exactly ideal. I wish we'd of been informed about the free shuttle bus on check in but as we weren't we walked it each time and its quite far! On the first day we

The hotel was conviently located near restaurants, a bus stop, and nearby shopping. It would be perfect if it were near the downtown area, but the Get on Get Off Bus stop was right in front of hotel and easy transportation to so many sights. Hotel bar was great, I loved the

Are there any toiletries in the room? I.E shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and shower gel?
Yes there is. They use liquid soap, shampoo, and shower gel. I can't remember about toothpaste, I brought mine. They have large bottles attached to the wall next to the sink and in the shower.

Hello! To answer your questions: 1. Transfer time is about 45-50 minutes to and from airport. Best way to get there is booking with one of the airport transfer companies - we used Fly Bus. I highly recommend them, very reliable. Once you get out of the arrival area, walk towards your right and you'll see their bus parked there. 2. You can book all tours including Northern Lights and Blue Lagoon transfer through the front desk. Blue Lagoon itself you will have to book it on the Blue Lagoon website way in advance - I booked ours 6 months before. If you are going soon, you can still see if there are available slots since its winter time and not as busy. Northern Lights is weather dependent so be prepared for it to be cancelled and if you don't get to go, they will refund you. Refund process is quick, less than a week and it was back in my account. 3. Other places to eat - Restaurant Reykjavik for seafood buffet, Cafe Loki for traditional Icelandic food, Baejarins Beztu for hotdogs, The Steakhouse for steak and they also serve whale and horse meat and lamb. Other places to visit if you are only there for 3 days - take the Golden Circle tour, go to the Grotta Lighthouse (directions to get there is in one of my reviews). 4. Shopping is the same price, it is eating out that can be expensive. You can easily spend $25 up per head when eating out. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast that you can purchase for $22/head which I would say is the way to go to get your day started. If you are not going shopping, I suppose $1000 will be enough or more. 5. Other tips - try to figure out the bus system so it is easy to get around downtown which could require some walking. Try to get the 72 hour bus pass/ticket. The #5 bus stop is just right in front of the hotel, it gets you to and from Hlemmur which is one of tge main bus hubs. They have a small food court there too -Matholl- try to eat or grab some drinks there, its also a nice hang out place. Walk to the Nautholsvik Geothermal Beach from the hotel and check it out too. When you go out of the hotel, walk towards your right and just follow the walking path. It's about a 15-20 min walk. Perlan is also a short hike up the hill across the hotel. There is a walking path as well. Also, if you do not want to do public transport, there is a free Perlan shuttle that can take you downtown, drops you off at the Harpa Concert Hall/Center. It goes from Harpa to the hotel to Perlan. Runs 10 am to 330 pm this time of year every 30 mins. They run until 730 pm between Harpa and Perlan so you can just get off Perlan and hike down to the hotel. That's all I can think of right now, ask more if I missed anything:)
