The hotel was situated in a very convenient location, close to the restaurants and sights. Everywhere is within walking distance. The first room had a faulty lock but management moved us straight away to another room. The beds were comfortable and warm. The shower room was very compact but I'm tiny so didn't really make much difference to me. Room...

This hotel is conveniently located near downtown for easy walking to shops and restaurants. Their restaurant serving breakfast and dinner and bar happy hour each day are added bonuses worth the money.

Hotel Centrum is a good, clean basic hotel at a great location. The location is right in downtown Reykjavik next to the Settlement museum. The staff was very helpful and was happy to store luggage for us when we went on a multi-day tour.

We couldn't have asked for a more centrally located hotel. The staff was very helpful, friendly and warm. The rooms were just the right size and very comfortable. They had refrigerators, safes, amenities in the bathroom and plenty of space to store our things. We had a view of the street, which we loved but at night sometimes it was...

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Reykjavik Centrum for 5 nights over New Year, the hotel has a quiet location and is situated in the centre of Reykjavik close to numerous restaurants and bars and near to the main harbour. The room was cosy and clean and the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast offered excellent choice with...

I stayed here with a tour group for four nights. Perfect location, next door to the Settlement Museum, convenient grocery/souvenirs shop next door, breakfast buffet is bountiful and worth it... and does not have fish- yay! Quick walk to the harbor and up the main shopping street. Upper floors can get warm. Had to open the window. Plenty of hot...

This hotel is located in central Reykjavik and everything seems to be about 5-10 minutes away. The staff is great and although the rooms aren't particularly large they are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is good and about what one would expect from a 4* hotel.

We stayed here for 3nights and absolutely adored hotel centrum and Rekyjavik itself. Set in a great location (45 min drive from the airport using greyline) and within walking distance of restaurants bars shops and places to visit. We stayed in room 206 which is the 2windows above the front of the hotel sign. Cosy room felt like our own...

The location is near loads of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions but is very quiet location. The staff at reception were very helpful and breakfast was included in our deal and this was good. Good selection of cereal, hot food, fruit etc. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We (3) stayed only for one night after our overnight tour. Our first hotel was fully booked. However, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel since my husband said it's in the old part of the city. The hotel is very nice , with restaurants nearby. We were given a loft room with a balcony which we really liked. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is a new first class hotel in the heart of the city, opened on April 1st 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets, Adalstraeti, in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. On each side of it, new buildings have been constructed in the likeness of their historic predecessors. The hotel spreads over all three buildings, and is designed in the style found in Reykjavík around 1900. During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD.The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini-bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea & coffee set. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath. ... more   less
