We had a fantastic stay in this city centre hotel.

We had requested a quiet room and were really impressed with our room as we were in a corridor with just two other rooms (we are Radisson rewards members so also had a room upgrade, I think this was a Junior Suite).

The room was spacious with a large bed, single put up bed and a sofa, chair and coffee table. This was great as we stayed a few nights so were able to bring food in as eating out is pricey!

The beds were extremely comfy and the spacious bathroom was amazing. Loved the artwork in the room and the waterfall wall in the shower.

There is a 24 hour convenience store called 10-11 just around the corner. Excellent range of sandwiches, biscuits and other food such as porridge pots/pasta pots for a quick breakfast/lunch. The posthus food hall opposite the hotel is also excellent and we had a takeaway pizza from there the first night.

The hotel staff are very friendly. The hotel is clean. The room had everything you'd expect and more (usual toiletries plus sewing kit, razor, toothbrush etc).

We were given a complimentary breakfast on our first day to try it out. Despite the negative reviews the breakfast was really nice. There were cereals, Skyr, toast, croissants, pain au chocolate and donuts. Fresh fruit and salad, various meat and cheese plus a small selection of hot food (meatballs, boiled potatoes, bacon, beans, egg and I think porridge). If it hadn't been as expensive we would have gone again but as a vegetarian I didn't feel I'd get the value out of it.

The room was very quiet considering the location but you could hear cars and people outside. It didn't stop us sleeping. I noticed the hotel provided earplugs in the room.

The location is great. Easily walkable to the museums and a massive choice of places to eat. The harbour was only a few minutes away. The Flybus transfer drops at bus stop 3 just a few minutes walk away. The tours we did were from bus stop 6 also close by.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in Reykjavik.

This hotel is lovely, great decor and a welcoming feeling. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating with any issues we had. The room was cosy and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was a huge variety of options and there’s a bar available in the evenings. The hotel is nearby a lot of key sights in Reykjavik with everything being within walking distance. The only slight issue is the noise from a nearby bar can be quite disturbing, it sounds like live music so the thump of bass is quite prominent in the evenings it’s being played. My only advice would be ear plugs which worked wonders, there’s not much the hotel can do about the noise and it’s not their fault at all, I would recommend staying here for price and comfort and location despite that issue. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, couldn’t have asked for more really and all of the staff are fabulous.

We stayed here for 3 nights while on business and the stay was generally very good. The room was clean and well appointed with enough space for our suitcases although if you are in for a longer stay the wardrobe space mat be limiting.

Being downtown it has a great location with a number of good options for dining and shopping within a very short walk. Breakfast was a bit of a hit and miss affair though. The first morning the selection was very impressive while the following morning there were items completely missing from the previous day (most of the pastries missing). Being a very expensive breakfast, even by hotel standards (~€33), I would expect the standard to be much higher. There is also a tight space between the food serving areas and the tables which would make it rather cramped on a busy morning.

If attending for business please note that the small and large meeting rooms are in the basement of the building, and if you are planning a meeting in Winter you are unlikely to see the sun that day.

This hotel has a great location in the middle of Reykjavik and is a convenient walking distance to many of the city's attractions. However, compared to some of the nearby hotels where business colleagues stayed, I feel it's cost does not offer the same experience. My room was adequate, though had some damage to the floor, including the bathroom. There was a thick layer of dust on top of a large wardrobe in the corner. It was otherwise clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel does offer a reasonable fitness center and I enjoyed dining in their associated restaurant. The staff was generally courteous but not particularly helpful with any issues that arrived. Overall, this is a fine place to stay. Though, given its cost compared to other hotels, will likely consider other options on my next visit.

We had an amazing stay at the Radisson Blu in Rekyjavik. The hotel is beautiful and perfectly positioned to see the sights in Rekyjavik; to catch tour buses from either bus stop #3 or #6, only a 3 or 5 minute walk from the hotel; and to dine out.
The hotel is immaculate and has an amazing coffee shop, restaurant and gym. The room was spacious enough and had 4 beds to accommodate my 2 children, and the facilities were fantastic. The bathroom was huge, and everything was provided. There was a fantastic hair dryer (very important to be powerful for my long hair) with sockets in the bathroom, lots of toiletries including shaving products, toothbrushes and nail kits so if you forgot anything you were covered. There was also a coffee machine, kettle and all the trimmings to go with that, fresh still and sparkling water every morning and night, pillow mist sprays, and turn down service every day, they really have thought of everything.
We also paid for breakfast to be included in our stay, and I'm so happy we did it was amazing! There were selections of cereals and yoghurt with all the trimmings, nuts etc. There were juices, milk, tea and coffee (even cod liver oil if you wanted it) pastries, meats, cheeses and a huge variety of fruits. There was bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, tomatoes etc and the best bit for me was the freshly cooked omelette of my choice cooked by the chef to order. It was the best omelette I have ever tasted.
I can't thank the staff at the hotel enough too. They were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. They responded to emails even before we arrived in Rekyjavik quickly answering questions I had about airport transfers and room choices and provided helpful suggestions to make our stay run smoothly. When we arrived, we also received news that one of our tours had been cancelled and they provided details of other reputable tour companies to use when I couldn't reschedule. Every question we had was always met with a smile and the day staff and night staff were equally as friendly and terrific.
I honestly don't have anything negative to say.
I will comment on other people's reviews about the noise as there were times when the outside noise was laud but it didn't trouble us and we are early risers. There are trucks clearing and gritting the roads yes (which are needed in winter for sure), airplanes overhead and people walking back from evening entertainmemt making noise but if your enjoying your time in Rekyjavik it won't disrupt your sleep.
We will definately stay again. Thanks Radisson for everything!

As has been stated by previous reviewers, the hotel is in an excellent location within close proximity of lots of bars/restaurants and at most a 5 minute walk to Harpa Concert Hall and the sea.

Check in was efficient and we were even able to check in to our room early which was a bonus. Staff at the reception desk were always on hand to help with queries and as with all staff at the hotel were professional and friendly.

The room had plenty of room, lovely shower in the bathroom and a super comfortable bed. The room was kept very clean and housekeeping was good.

There is an adjoining coffee house to the hotel that serves good coffee and worth calling in for as it was quite good value.

There is a nice bar area at the hotel and we stayed for a drink one evening. Breakfast is great, with lots of choice, all very fresh. The omelette station is brilliant and you get quite a good sized omelette which is cooked on the spot. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet and calm which is a lovely way to start the day.

The hotel ordered us a taxi to the airport and even double checked it was on its way the following morning to make sure the driver was on time. He turned up 2 mins late which wasn't an issue - it was reassuring that someone on reception was checking all was okay.

Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this hotel. Its a comfortable and professionally run hotel where the staff take care of their guests. Really well done to everyone working there.

Staff were friendly on arrival and when we checked out.

Really spacious bedroom with sofa and chair, overlooking the famous hotdog stand!

Breakfast was really good - plenty of continental options and cooked breakfast too.

The central location was good. 20 minutes to old harbour, 10 to the Rainbow Road, 50 minutes to Perlan.

After reading the reviews about noise, I'd asked the hotel in advance if we could be on a higher floor. They said they'd look into it but we ended up on the first floor of bedrooms - directly above the restaurant/breakfast area. We didn't notice much street noise but we heard every scraping chair, at times at 3.30am.

The restaurant is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Stayed at the Radisson Blue 1919 in Reykjavik for 5 nights in Oct/Nov 2024. Rooms clean and spacious, reception staff very friendly and helpful, particularly Kristofer. We dined out so cannot effectively review restaurant and bar. The location is very good and central, very close(5 mins walk) to bus stops 1 and 3.

To put in context, the hotel charges 300EUR+ per night at this time of the year. Starting with one positive note, the breakfast selection of the hotel was very good.
Here in brief the other side of the coin:
- front deck check-in without real welcome and much information; signing the paper and getting the keys could have bern done by a machine
- they did not get that we had two rooms and every morning the same procedure (you have only paid for one breakfast)
- room cleaning not done properly, had to come and clean the bathroom / shower again
- ask for repair the shower sink - never happened (despite told it was done)
- replacement of towels only done half
- hotel staff taking out the room key from the power socket in the room - not allowing the plugs to work and electronics charging could not happen as intended
- asking for the front office manager - being told is on vacation; just reflect my feeling that overall hotel is run by summertime students

I could continue the list but it gives a good enough impression why there are hopefully better choices in town for the next visit.

PS for people with issues of the back or like a particular firm/hard mattress - this hotel serves very soft ones (cant recall when this happened to me last time. Some might like it but I dit not.
coming out of the room this morning to find someones used bed in-front of the door 🤔 - someone wanted to sleep with a harder ground

The hotel is really well located if you want to explore Reykjavik and does have a few things going for it. The room was small but clean, and the reception upon arrival was reasonably quick and efficient - our rooms weren't ready, but we didn't wait that long. The night staff were also very helpful when my wife became ill after eating out one night (not at the hotel I want to add!)

I can't really comment on the breakfast as we chose to eat out given how much it was going to cost, but we did hear comments from other guests and were happy we missed it.

The biggest problem for us was the noise outside, I know it's not the hotels fault as such, but the windows (one of which we couldn't close) didn't really help. It was especially bad on the Friday and Saturday nights where the shouting, screeching cars, and loud music continued to the early hours. Toward the end, I found myself looking forward to getting home for some sleep.

If we were coming back for a few days mid-week though, we would definitely consider coming back here.

Dear guest Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your visit to Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel, Reykjavik. We are delighted to read from your review that you enjoyed your recent stay with us, however it is disappointing to hear about your disruptions. It is one of the downsides to being located in the downtown area, that it does come with noise from the nightlife. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest and we would be honored to get the chance to host you again in the future. Sincerely, Júlía Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel, Reykjavik

Hi we used Flybus it leaves right outside the airport and drops you off at bus stop 3 which is 5 minute walk to the Radisson Hotel and the same for the return journey bus stop 3 to the airport. Also while on your stay most trips you book your pick up point will be bus stop 3 except private tours then they will pick you up from the hotel reception make sure you check the pick up point

I believe that you can get a room with two queens, which is what I booked. We ended up with one King, but didn’t care, we were so tired.

I was going to need parking but then we decided to not rent a car. There is a parking garage near by that is not part of the hotel. I think the rate is 370 K per hour but its best if you email the hotel for more details.
