Reykjavik Campsite is the only campsite located in Reykjavik. We are located in the green recreational area Laugardalur, next to the largest swimming pool in Iceland, only 2 km from the city center. The campsite has all of the facilities one could expect of a modern campsite. These include; 24h reception, wifi, toilet and shower facilities, kitchen facilities, electricity outlets for caravans, etc.

It’s still a campsite, so I’m not sure what people are expecting. We visited during winter months, so the men’s room was closed. The men and women all shared the facilities. The showers are free, which is a plus for those who pay for most everything with a credit card. Biggest

I stayed here for 5 nights. 2 of the 3 urinals were broken 2 of the 3 showers were clogged and wouldn’t drain. 7 of the 9 sinks didn’t have soap and almost all of the toilets were out of toilet paper. Sadly this was also the most expensive campsite I used while in country.

I found this listed on the FAQs on their website, "We do not take reservations from individuals. The campsite has a capacity of around 900 people and is in the period of June– August usually a very busy place."
