We arrived in heavy snow accompanied with a bitingly cold wind, and quickly checked in at their reception, which was richly decorated with eclectic furnishings, being a mix of vintage and antique which I love. The lady that dealt with us was warm and inviting and I believe that we were the only guests at the hotel that night, as it was very quiet.

Our room was annexed to the main building up a flight of (incredibly snowy stairs…. this would have been a problem for anyone with any mobility issues, as it was treacherous, but we faired pretty well). Once we were safely installed into our room, (102) we found it spotlessly clean, warm, very comfortable and decorated to a really high standard; with lovely high end fixtures and fittings, Sóley Icelandic toiletries etc clearly being renovated to a high standard throughout. I especially loved their carefully chosen artwork and reeded glass shower.

The bathroom, while perhaps for some a little bijou (I noted a few negative reviews around the size prior to arrival) however I want to stress that it was very well planned, luxuriously fitted out and offered everything we needed including a heavenly, skin strippingly hot shower!

A sidenote note to anyone that may travel here out of ‘season’ and on a Monday! We were aware prior to our arrival, that sadly, the hotel’s (excellently reviewed) Moroccan restaurant was closed (Monday), but it turned out however that pretty much every other dinner option was too! :) We had ear-marked a little Fish and Chip place just around the corner as our ‘fallback hot meal option’, but yup, you guessed it unfortunately this too was very much shut! I would strongly advise (from plenty of experience in Iceland over the years, when travelling in the winter months) always come armed with a few snacky supplies just to be safe!

Food options aside, it was a quirky little accommodation option, comfortable, warm and very quiet... and who knows perhaps we'll make it back someday soon and feast!

The decoration of the hotel is done with great taste, as you get inside you will be surprised by a cozy atmosphere and nice spaces. Our room was a little small for three but you forget that as soon as you have a tajine at the restaurant : one of the best ever lamb tajine (better than the Paris mosquée and even the ones we tasted in Morocco some years ago). The chef is amazing, the orange dessert was perfect and all the restaurant staff absolutely lovely, friendly and professional. Thank you ! We had a very nice evening and stay in our roadtrip to the whales the day after

Decorations/designs of the hotel and room are unique. Room is huge and comfortable. Good view of the streets and town. Location is near to restaurants and a nice bakery. Most restaurants are closed in November, Siglunes offer dining services but will need to pre-reserve. Staff is friendly and provide good recommendations.
Parking spots are right beside the hotel.

We detoured off the ring road to take scenic drive to Siglufjordur. This guesthouse had a comfortable and eclectically furnished reception area with some books and games set out. Our room was in an "annex" next to the reception area. The room was basic, comfortable and adequate for the 10 hours we stayed. Bakery nearby was great and we were able to take lunch with us for later.

A beautiful room, nicely decorated and very well equipped at a very reasonable price. This is very unusual in Iceland, but it exist at Siglunes Guesthouse in Siglufjordur. Excellent diner and very good breakfast at the restaurant, where the chef from Morocco makes an excellent tagine.

Centrally located with parking next door on a vacant lot. Our room overlooked the street but was not a problem . the main entry area we felt was dark and gloomy.
Breakfast was satisfactory. The only downside was that we booked this hotel pre covid for travel in 2020 and for this 2023 travel the price had gone up more than 40% which we were advised was due to inflation!!!!!!!

Rooms are lovely, very nicely decorated and feel modern and sleek. Bathrooms are also modern and lovely. The rooms are not massive but they’re big enough when you’re not spending much time in there. Breakfast was simple and basic with no hot food but it was nice all the same.

Very friendly staff.

Really nice, cosy lobby lounge which reminded me of an English Country house.

Small, but lovingly decorated room.

Bathroom was tiny, but nice. Only issue was the water from the shower flooding the whole bath room within a few minutes.

No coffee and tea facility in the room which is always a minus for us.

Our room was in the extra building which meant that we had to walk through the rain to get to the lobby, reception and restaurant.

Overall very good value for money.

We had great expectations to this guest house before arrival. A nostalgic house with a popular restaurant with Moroccan chef. Centraly location. Our room at 3rd floor in end of corridor at right was as nostalgic as expected. The small (modern) bathroom sorrowly had a bad smell. Good and comfortable bed. Wifi well functioning. We corresponded with hotel four days before arrival and were told to reserve table for dinner. We did but when arriving this was neglected and we could only be served after 21:00pm. At all the staff was invicible throughout stay.
Luckily they served their breakfast at Bakery 150 m away. That was very comfortable with a lit of choices and very friendly staff. Our best memory from our stay.

First, a qualifier, we were there is the off-season. However, if your are open, then you should be open! Except for check-in and at dinner on night (the restaurant was closed the second night), there was not a single person in the building. We and two other guests ww the only occupants of the entire building. Had to pay for breakfast, which we had to go around the corner to a bakery to get. Not worth it.

Hello Didier, now it costs 13 € but last year it was included in the price. Thank you for pointing this out to me. Best regards, Ásta.
