The journey to Seydisfjordur is stunning. Given the quiet time of year, we checked in via the quaint pizza restaurant and were directed back to the hotel. I'm not sure if we were the only people there, a couple of times the front door banged in the night and I think this was tenants living upstairs.... unsure. We ended up...

Our stay here started with a glitch on my part- I accidentally reserved for the wrong night and we were no-shows. Despite this, the two women working at the hotel were kind and welcoming and gave us a discount and upgrade on the extra night. The hotel has three buildings and we stayed in the building that was once a...

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon in early November. I'm pretty sure we were the only people staying in the entire building (the old building) and I loved our room. The antique/period furniture was beautiful and the bathroom was large. Everything was spotless. They also had a minibar, which we didn't use, but was a nice touch....

Hotel Aldan ís located in Seyðisfjoudur. The town is well equipped with a Vínbúðin store, small Grocery store, cafes, bars and other restaurants. Grab essentials in Egilsstaðir before arriving. Easy to find Hotel Aldan - at the T-intersection on the downward road into the town. It looks like a pub/ restaurant and cafe. Well, yes it is. Stop here and...

Really enjoyed my time in Seydisfjordur, the town reminds me of the joy of being in Iceland before the huge influx of tourism. The hotel was very nice and the staff was exceptional. Will definitely come back and stay there again.

Was a wonderful place to stay! Nice comfortable beds. The breakfast was amazing and the coffee was excellent. Dinner was good but a little pricey, not many options in the area that's open during this time. Place is worth staying at.

We drove around Iceland clockwise and we are fervent believers that a local, genuine hospitality is the best and most effective way to discover a country, sadly we have most of the time found restaurants and bars to be to modern, to "Standardised" well that was before discovering the Aldan, first the location, Seydisfjordur will blow your eyes out, the...

The scenic drive down to the fjordside village of Seydisdjördur is the first thing to enjoy about this secluded corner of eastern Iceland. The second is the village itself (it not unfairly claims to be the friendliest village in the entire country) and, not least, the Hotel Aldan. The hotel is housed in three buildings, the main one containing the...

I would stay again without reservation! The food was good, the town was charming and our room had a large tub! The old bank building had lots of character. Nice little town to explore and great restaurant where we had a pizza with reindeer. Whats not to like about that!

The highlight of staying in this hotel was the drive through the amazing countryside sprinkled with waterfalls of all shapes and sizes and catching our first glimpse of the sleepy little village that is Seydisfjordur....exceptional. Unfortunately the accommodation didn't quite live up to expectations....after we checked in at reception where the restaurant is and then drove over to our accommodation...lugged...
