Had a great couple of days at Stobo. Food was amazing staff are all very friendly special mention to Joe who went out of his way to make us coffee when the courtyard cafe was closed. Will definitely be back.

I’m late with my review but here goes. Beautiful building and location. Beauty staff are amazing. My 2 issues are that we stayed in the castle and rooms don’t get cleaned and we have to ask reception for water etc. This may have changed. Completely unacceptable considering the price we paid. The usual management response will say it’s normal practice in the trade. But I can say it’s not. I have stayed at other resorts and my room was cleaned, fresh towels etc.every day. My second issue is, considering the cost to stay, the fresh orange was not fresh pressed but Brakes carton orange. Just not good enough.

Dear Guest, I find your review very misleading as I suspect your stay at Stobo took place a couple of years ago when we were quite rightly following the Scottish Government's Covid guidelines. At that point, rooms were serviced prior to arrival and following departure (ie. not the days in between) to minimise the risk of spreading the infection. We were more than happy to provide additional amenities (water, towels, toiletries etc) on request and the vast majority of guests were understanding and appreciative of the measures put in place to keep everyone at Stobo safe. When the guidelines were lifted, we could safely abolish this policy and rooms are, of course, now fully serviced daily. I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment with our orange juice, however I can confirm we use a top quality, premium product. Perhaps you would be kind enough to amend your review to avoid any confusion for those reading your comments. With many thanks,

Came for a girly weekend away, we stayed in the castle lodge which is cheaper. Although the bedroom was large with two doubles it felt a bit basic in decoration and the bathroom was very small. The spa facilities were great and never felt too busy, there was a good range of gym and activity style classes on throughout the day to enjoy between eating. I enjoyed the relaxed feel in the day, the courtyard is lovely for a coffee and to read a book between treatments or use of the spa. There was a good selection of food at each of the meal times and the food was enjoyable. The staff were very friendly but some quite young and inexperienced, during dinner on one night the waiter couldn’t give us any information on one of the wines. We also didn’t get the wine until half way through our meal. The location is beautiful and there are a great selection of walks or runs that can be completed from the castle. With all that being said I would still come back as this is one of the few destinations spas in Scotland and the trip as a whole was very enjoyable.

Another amazing stay at Stobo Castie. The service from arrival right through our stay was exceptional. The facilities are fantastic, we love the outdoor hot tubs. The food and menu put together by Exec Head Chef Stephen King is delicious, lots of choice and tasted absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful time, a real treat and can’t wait to come back again!

Perfect location to relax and do as much or as little as you want. I always go with great plans to do as much as I can, then spend half my time napping by the pool or in the relaxation room. The food is amazing, service top notch and the rooms very comfortable. You should go for at least two nights so you get a full day wandering about in your robe and slippers. I like to go by myself for maximum relaxation, and stay for three nights. You don't need to add treatments as there is plenty to do, but I would recommend the longer treatments to get maximum pampering. I ate all my meals from the vegan menu, the cauliflower korma was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately no salted caramel cheesecake but I'm hopeful for my next visit.

We have just returned from another fantastic stay at Stobo Castle. We stayed as part of the "blissful" two night package and were indulged in luxury from our arrival to departure. Our rooms were beautiful, we stayed in the castle and park lodge. Rooms were decorated tastefully, were exceptionally clean and had lots of luxury items at our disposal. Our party took full advantage of the fantastic facilities and classes on offer. The aquafit class, relaxation room and hot tubs were a particular hit. Our treatments included in the package were outstanding, and the products used were wonderful. Thank you to Bernadette for making me feel so comfortable and relaxed during my de-stress ritual. The food as always was superb, thank you to Stephen and his team for making sure we were well fed. The venison, beef and seabass were truly delicious and the stobo sundae was an excellent treat to finish off an amazing meal. Plates were totally licked clean! The team at Stobo are well trained and looked after our party very well during our stay. The service was top notch and the staff went out of our way to make us feel relaxed and well cared for during our visit. I had broken my toe just before our stay and Gerard and the team made sure I had great first aid treatment. In short, we had an amazing few days at Stobo Castle and we cannot wait to go back next year! Thank you, team Stobo!

My daughter and I have been coming to Stobo for nearly 20 years and it is definitely our happy place. They just do everything so well, even the little things. We had a lovely room, spa is just the best, food was delicious and the staff are so lovely. Every visit you notice something different and it is continually being enhanced. The grounds are lovely too, with a walk around the Japanese garden with the waterfall being a must. Perhaps one day, the Cashmere Suite!

Absolute Luxury! My best friend treated me to the Stobo Experience for my birthday and I can honestly say was the best gift ever! The castle is absolutely stunning and set in the most idyllic backdrop, especially on a sunny autumn day. The staff were fantastic and so polite and welcoming, could not fault. The Spa is what dreams are made of!!! Cannot fault the variety of thermal experiences and space to relax and enjoy the view over the decadent infinity pool, all absolutely immaculately clean and maintained to the highest standard, as is the hygiene and presentation throughout the whole destination. Food is also tremendous and a lot of care has went into accommodating dietary needs. As myself and my friend are both vegetarian I felt catered for however we sampled some Vegan choices which could have had a tiny bit more oomph to them in terms of flavour/dressings and meat substitute choices, having said that some high end establishments do not cater at all to the needs of vegans and veggies at all so it was still not a criticism, merely a wee tip from a long standing non meat eater. I will be returning to Stobo Castle to indulge in its luxury and ambience as soon as I possibly can and advise anyone else to fallow suit!

Stobo, you never disappoint, just back from a fabulous 2 night break and everything was just perfect, from the minute we arrived we were given a warm welcome, this continued right through until we left, they all make you feel special, the staff are all first class. Our room was beautiful and spotless with views to die for. I must give Stephen the Chef at Stobo a special mention, the food is spectacular and nothing is too much trouble, he found out there was a dessert I loved from previous stays which wasn't on the menu and put it on as a special for me, I was over the moon, such a busy man and yet he went above and beyond to do this, you are all amazing, thankyou for looking after us and making our stay just perfect, see you next time!!

Well Stobo - you were First Class! From the second we entered the front door you Recognised my Wife, Recognised it was her Second visit to the Cashmere Suite and made sure at every turn during our visit you knew who We were and catered for Us very Personally! The Cashmere Suite is actually a piece of art in itself! Five Separate Chambers, Five very Separate Purposes - each with their own Character! Beautifully Decorated, Expertely Maintained and Presented with such Great Pride! We could be Completely Insulated from the outside world, or choose to be Socially Mobile in the Beatifully Relaxing Spa, Cocktail Lounge or in the Luxury Dining! Food was an experince in itself with Fine Food ranging from in Suite Morning Breakfasts, to Wholesome Lunches - packed lunches were also available too if you chose to travel! Evening Dinner was just a Fabulous Experience in the Library with a wide range to meet your every palate. The staff were just Invisibly Expert! Things happened almost Effortlessly but still managed to leave us feeling attended to on an Individual Level! Sure to be back Next Year - Trip Three! Same Suite with the Same Expecations - just So Stobo! Just so Cashmere! x Stuart and Dawn Duncan - October 2023 x
