This was my first trip in the South Pacific ocean. And what an experience! I absolutely loved staying at Mai Dive. The staff was very kind and friendly, always happy to make you happy. From the (very cute) bungalow, the view of the endless ocean is breathtaking. I do not dive but my snorkeling experience was amazing. You will not...

What an awesome place .. a remote paradise .. Yes,it is remote, so it takes some travel time, but that's exactly what makes it so great, pristine beauty and privacy. The diving is wonderful and we never saw another boat out there .. Dee (our divemaster) was amazing and knows the area very well (make sure you get to dive...

I Loved my stay at Mai Dive, despite all odds due to a prior Kadavu stay at a different place in 2010. For those readers that have followed my reviews (and for those that haven't, stay with me here), they know I mostly review international dive locations and accommodations, etc. and they know about my negative review of another "Resort"...

Where do I start... Maybe by saying that we've been there twice already? We went to Mai Dive the first time in 2011 and decided to go back over the Xmas break. You're right, it doesn't really mean anything... or does it?... This little piece of beach front on Ono Island is everything that you'll want if you are craving...

I could only spend a few days, but packed it in...the dives each day were amazing, and the activities including the waterfall hike and the village visit were incredible. The team is wonderful and their local village is sadly being threatened by sea level rises and is being relocated to hire ground...so your dollars spent help an amazing communicate survive.

The resort is located on remote Ono Island which makes it a very unique and local experience as its run by local Fijians. Delicious and fresh local food was prepared - 3 hearty meals each day. They even gave us fresh coconuts to drink from, had delicious local seafood every day and they prepared a LOVO, a traditional feast for...

I would like to begin noting that my style of travel is independent, seeking authentic experiences, exploring culture and history. A resort type place would not be high on my list. However, if all resorts were like Mai Dive, it would definitely be my style of travel. Mai Dive Resort is located on the remote Ono Island and is locally...

Let me start by saying that we are a couple of snorkelers (that is the may purpose of most of our trips) and we did spend a fantastic week at Mai dive. Not only we made a great choice going there, it is one of my top three vacations ever (the others being a road trip through Western Australia and...

Hi Vicky,

We have stayed at Maldive twice and never found the menu loaded towards seafood. The last time we were there, we stayed 10 days and seafood was probably served for 2-3 meals. Otherwise the menu is pretty varied with quite an international mix of dishes. If you contact Danielle before you travel, she will take care of any of your dietary requests. One of our group is gluten intolerant and they always made sure her meals were ok, even serving her separate dishes at some of the meals. Hope this helps.

There is a village trip that we do which is taken by the resort manager Joana who is Fijian and comes from the village so this gives you a true experience of the culture.

Because the guys are brought up music there is always singing throughout the day by the staff, generally the chefs while preparing food in the kitchen. When there is a Kava night there would be singing and playing of guitars throughout the ceremony.

I hope this answers your questions.

Kind Regards
