Warm welcome from George and team who are always smiling and ask about your day. They offer lots of tips on the area.
We paid 160£ for four nights and had a large seaview room on floor six. The view is fabulous looking out to the other side of the harbour towards Valetta. It's a great base for sightseeing as the ferries are outside for trips and buses to lots of places.
The room needs an update but the price reflects this and was clean and comfortable.
It was my birthday while I was there and it was a lovely surprise to get a card and wine from the hotel.
The ladies all got a flower on valentine's Day at breakfast. Nice gesture.
Breakfast isn't the best quality I've ever had but once again this is not a pricy hotel, there was everything you could need from hot dishes, pasties, cheese meats salads cereals juice and hot drinks.
The WiFi was adequate and there was TV with sky and BBC news .
Very happy with our stay and thanks to the lovely people who work so hard there

The hotel is in a great location on the seafront and is really well served with bus routes. The staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful and always ready for a chat. Our room was clean although in need of an update and this was reflected in the price. Good choice of food at breakfast. Ladies were given a flower at breakfast on Valentine's day which was a lovely gesture

Our stay here was all very lastminute.com
and what a fab surprise it turned out to be!
Friendly staff especially vanja on reception, what the lady didn’t know about Malta wasn’t worth knowing.
Chocolate croissants at breakfast were delicious and very moreish.
Our room super clean with very comfortable beds and the best hotel shower I’ve used in a long while.
Great location and would definitely recommend.

This hotel is a treasure in Sliema that made our stay unforgettable. First of all the location in the front of Sliema harbour 1 min from ferries and all the bus stations made this hotel super convenient for our holiday in Malta. Litelally 1 min. walk to catch the buses for Gozo, Mdina , Mosta and of course Valetta and the airport. You dont need a taxi from and to the airport since the TD2 and X2 are almost in front of the hotel. Also the hotel is 2 min walk from the central market of Sliema and the restaurants not to mention the restaurant Greyhound in the front door for the case you dont want to walk from your room any further!!!
Concerning the hotel is a 3 star hotel functional very clean with super big rooms (the problem is that the rooms are so big that they need extra furnitutr to be filled or the high season are rooms for 3 or 4 persons). Our double room was enormous with a balcony with a super view in Valetta and everything inside was ok. There is a money safe with a small extra charge and the only negative was the luck of a small refrigirator although for us it was not a problem for that season but I beleive during summer months it is necessary. Buffet breakfast was included and it was super filling and fresh (eggs, bacon, cheese, fruits , even tuna salad every day, croissants).
But the most important it was the service and the staff in the receiption they were
AMAZING and EXCELLENT PROFESSIONALS!!!
Vanjia every day every second she was there for us giving us infos , maps and advices with out even asking. So helpful, friendly and polite. The same George every day was coming in breakfast asking us how was our stay if we had any problem always with big smile, no words to say for this warm behaviour . The same for Shyrr a nice and friendly young girl who also was very helpful and kind.
If it is to stay in Sliema and you are looking for a budget but descent and excellent hotel go there.

Staff at Sliema Hotel are exceptional. Friendly and helpful as well as welcoming. The hotel is affordable and offers good value for money as well as a prime location opposite the ferries and where the bus tours start. There are lots of bars and restaurants close by and it is on good transport links for St Julian's, Valletta, M'Dina and most other tourist attractions. The food is very good also. Highly recommended with a great view. Room with a sea view and balcony is very reasonable.

The hotel is ideally situated in Sliema adjacent to the harbour where the ferries leave from. The rooms are clean well maintained and ours had a balcony and a harbour view where we sat and had lunch while watching the comings and going in the iconic harbour below. Breakfast was included and was very good indeed with a good selection to chose from. The staff were all very helpful especially George the hotel supervisor who went out of his way to ensure that everything was okay. George even changed the mattress on our bed when he discovered I had a bad back. We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying in this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it highly.

Please don’t book this hotel, any pictures you find online are deceitful and probably taken 20 years ago.
I booked this hotel based on the pictures I saw online, unfortunately when I arrived it was a different story: the hotel is dirty and smells of bio, the room was horrible: rust and dirty in the bathroom, dirty and old appliances, noisy aircon. Overall very dusty and old furniture, the bed and pillows very uncomfortable.
We got a room facing the street, the noise coming from outside was unbelievable. After the first night we decided to move to another hotel, they refused to refund the second night even when I showed them the pictures of the dirt of the room. I have never walked out from an hotel in my life, I guess there’s always a first time! Btw the pictures of the outdoor areas are completely fake, they don’t have any outdoor space, they offered us to use the swimming pool and lido of the sister hotel 600 mt distant from the hotel.

Before going to this hotel I read a number of pretty bad reviews and was, in all honesty, dreading it a bit. In the event our experience was very positive overall. Firstly, the staff were all extremely helpful and courteous. The breakfast waiting team were very friendly and helpful and we would like to mention in particular Sebastián from Colombia, the supervisor. He was great and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast itself was OK without being spectacular but definitely in line with what you would expect from a three star hotel. If you want and expect a five star breakfast go to a five star hotel

Our room was spacious and with great views across the bay to Valletta and the hotel is very close to the ferry stop to go over to Valletta (which only takes 5 minutes). Location-wise it's excellent.

Some criticism has been made of the fact that the hotel advertises a swimming pool yet doesn't have one. As guests of the ST Sliema we were given full access to the Aqualuna pool which was very good and only about 7 minutes walk away. Maybe this is a bit misleading but walking for 7 minutes is hardly a great hardship.

Points for improvement. The bathroom(s) in the bedroom(s) does/do need upgrading urgently and as does the lift whch seemed to have a mind of its own! I'm not a big fan of carpets in bedrooms in hot countries either, tiles or parquet would would be much better and definitely more practical and hygienic.

Firstly I would like to mention I do not write reviews for every place I go to as I am constantly traveling for work, however I feel this hotel deserves a proper mention.
I was welcomed into the hotel with a reasonable receptionist and check in was smooth.
Upon entering my room on the first floor it was clear the this is a very budget hotel with no maintenance carried out, the bath is chipped and scratched, toilet seat cracked and loose, soap dispenser leaking onto the floor and a shower head that wets the wall only as it will not stay up.
House keeping is poor and the room is serviced in the late afternoon or not at all depending on the day.
Breakfast, the scrambled eggs are ok if you like shell and no taste, the sausages are ok if you like them raw in the middle, the juice is from a machine that adds syrup to water and the pineapple juice tasted like water and the baked beans what can I say....... basically I was sick 30 minutes after eating breakfast
The bed is old and can be felt the springs inside, the bed linen fits poorly
The air conditioner blows directly onto the bed and when turned off leaks water after it defrosts.
the doors to the rooms do not fit properly so you need to close them a little hard however at 5am the last 3 mornings someone has managed to close it loud enough to shake the building
Room paid for was to have city views yet please see the photo
All in all this is the worst hotel I have stayed in this week and I am up to 37 hotels this year alone.

We stayed for 5 nights on first arriving in Malta. It was easy to get to from the airport via the X2 bus. Located right next to the Sliema to Valetta Ferry (€2.00 return ticket).

The hotel is basic in style and the buffet style breakfast was a great start to the day. Showers were always hot. Aircon was a god send. We had a small balcony facing the waterfront on the 5th floor which had a great view.

We used the pool at the sister hotel about 10 mins walk further along the waterfront, which was good.

Overall a good experience. Not the best hotel we have stayed in but a really good start to our holiday abc s great base from which to start to explore Malta without being stuck in the heat of Valetta.

We would return if the opportunity arose.
