Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a great hotel. Good location in a quiet street close to the centre of the town and very convenient for most things. It has very few rooms but each is spacious, well set out and very comfortable. Breakfast is served in the basement and is very good. Plenty of choice and good quality. Maja, who runs the hotel was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and an excellent source of advice on what to do and where to go. Our first time to visit Malta and a great success.

Lovely boutique hotel just a few minutes from the centre. Bedroom was spacious and comfy. The breakfast is in the rooms at the bottom of the building which are full if character. The breakfast itself was limited and a little disappointing but we loved Valetta itself which had endless bars and restaurants. We visited the old hospital and watched an information film about Malta's history which we'd recommend.

Dear msk9oohs, Thank you for the nice comments about hotel. I must admit that this is the first time I have heard that our breakfast is limited. All foods are freshly prepared: croissants, Danish pastries and chocolate rolls, smoothies, yogurts, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruits and vegetables, 4 types of cheese, cold cuts. Also available are: egg muffins, baked egg, pastizzi ricotta, 3 types of granola, orange and apple juice. breakfast is combined for everyone's taste. If we failed to satisfy your taste from all of the above, please accept our sincere apologies.

What a wonderful place to stay at. Just off the action, but easy to find, we had the upper room with a real treat of a hot tub on the roof. Stunning view of the Basilica. Really friendly staff, plentiful breakfast, clean and comfortable. We will come again and recommend to friends.

We had booked this hotel without looking at the reviews here. We feel the more recent reviews accurately reflect the place, so perhaps the management has been changed. Certainly Maja was most helpful and dealt well with a noise problem we encountered from a faulty pump on the roof, just above our top floor room. We did not look at any of the other rooms and suspect they may be less sunny than ours, even if a bit larger. The place is comfortable and very quiet, well located for restaurants and getting around the city. We we felt the wet room style bathroom, with a marble floor, was a mistake, and a shower screen would improve it and would be easy to fit. Breakfasts were fine once we got some stronger coffee! A definite recommendation from a demanding reviewer.

This is a charming little hotel with a wonderful host. The building is old, beautifully renovated with beautiful big rooms. Big surprise we had a coffee machine in the room with free coffee capsules, a bottle of water refilled every day. Maya is an incredibly kind person, gave good ideas for walks and great restaurants. And the breakfast was varied with fresh and delicious food. The Coleridge Boutique Hotel In Valletta is the best choice in Malta!

A marvellous stay! We could not imagine finding such a lovely place. Hidden in an old house...pretty, confortable and clean rooms. A delicious and well thought breakfast for a good start of the day. Warm and helpful welcome of the manager, Maja. We hope to book again in the near future!

I cannot fault Maja and her team. We had the most amazing time and felt well looked after. The hotel is a perfect location to the Main Street and is beautiful inside. We stayed 8-12 February and due to the weather spent a lot of time in the hotel as it was so wet and windy. Everthing was so clean and Maja was very accommodating. We flew early home (was up at 3am for a 6am flight) and she had prepared breakfast for us to take with us (although my husband forgot to bring it with us when we left) We can’t wait to come back again.

The Coleridge is located perfectly...just far enough from the crowds on Republic Street but only steps away. The hotel is run by Mija who will do everything she can to make your stay a happy one. The charming B&B is comfortable for sleeping with black out curtains and soundproofing. The beds are large and multiple pillow styles add to the comfort. The breakfast room with original stone walls is charming and Mija will make you have your perfect cup of coffee. Vanessa and staff will make sure your room is done to your satisfaction daily. I am a single female solo traveler who stayed here for two weeks and felt completely safe and looked after. I could not have asked for more!
