The location was good, but we thought it was a hotel with amenities such as a bar etc. There were no facilities only a breakfast room in the basement. The room was adequate but could have been a room anywhere in the world no character. The receptionist was pleasant but had only been there for a short time ,so gave us basic information. The breakfast staff were lovely and smiley. The alarm went off one late evening which was very scary as there were no staff on the premises,we stood outside feeling very cold for about twenty minutes before the manager turned up to investigate.

Very well located near to many restaurants, stores, attractions and a 6 minutes walk to the bus terminal, making easy to explore Malta by public transportation. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 202, a spacious room, very well lighted, with comfortable beds and pillows, and a nice traditional Valetta balcony. It was a nice touch having courtesy water, tea and coffee in the room. The hotel is very well decorated, with many pieces of art. The breakfast was delicious and with a huge variety of food and drinks. Like any other old building, it needs some small repairs. Get a better water isolation, it comes out in the shower, making the floor a little bit wet. We had a problem with the toilet flush, but it was repaired the same day. Some days there was a sewage smell from the toilet.

An absolutely lovely little hotel. A blend of old and new. From the lobby to the rooms, you will find old murals and floor tiles blended into a modern renovated space. Reception staff were excellent. We had to book the hotel after our flight was cancelled and the receptionist was so helpful in helping us sort things out. She really put us at ease and made us feel welcomed. Location is good. Just off the pedestrian only boulevards of Valleta, next to a supermarket and food court. Room was clean, spacious with a high ceiling and a nice balcony to view the street life.

First time staying in a room for us 3, we were in the Presidential suit, the room was elegantly set out with clam lightings, colours and original artwork. The bonus of this suit is that you your personal veranda with sofas, sun loungers and a hot tub for four - the very is spectacular over the city. For breakfast which is included in the price you take the lift down to the basement where you have a very wide selection for food from full fried breakfast, cold cuts of meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, cereals, yogurts, pastries - and many more! Plus hot drinks and fresh juices. We were looking around the ground floor at the antique maps of Malta when we got speaking to a gentleman who explained they were originals and dated back to the 1720’s - it turned he was the owner of the hotel, chatted to him for while and he explained he was also the artist to all of the art work hung in the hotel - amazing! Great hotel, central to the city for visiting, lovely to go back to our room and chill in the hot tub - definitely would recommend anyone to stay!! But please leave room for our return!! Lololo

This boutique hotel was just lovely, full of charm and history. The room was very clean and comfy and had all the amenities you need. The location is just excellent for the old town. My only small negative is that it’s on a busy one way street so be prepared to be woken up early if you are on a low level room at the front of the hotel with traffic noise.

The hotel is on a narrow street and doesn't look much from the outside. But as soon as you enter, you will be blown away with the decor - the floor is amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us some tips on what to see and where to go. We booked the suite which had a rooftop terrace and a hot tub and was absolutely delighted with it. There were loungers and a sofa and chairs which we used when we were watching the fireworks at night. And the hot tub had been filled up and kept covered. The room was very big and had everything we needed. The tea and coffee was kept well stocked and we stored our own things in the fridge. The bathroom was also huge with a large walk in shower. The bed was comfy and the room was serviced regularly. We had plenty of towels and these were changed frequently. The hotel is very close to a large supermarket, shops and restaurants so is ideal if you want to explore on foot. it is also a short walk away from the water where you can boats and taxis to other parts of the island.

The Palazzo Paolina Hotel has been a great experience. The staff are helpful and friendly, the breakfast buffet was good and the service was overall pleasant and competent. The location of the hotel is super, just a walk from everything in Valetta, and jet no noise from the night life. It almost felt like a stay in a private palazzo :-)

Space is severely limited in Valletta, thus there is high rise ancient hotels and houses, including basements. This hotel is no different. the dining area for breakfast is in the basement, very small, with several passages leading off to single tables, there is even one table in a hallway leading to other small spaces for a table. Being in a basement means no natural lighting. My stay was pleasant, central to the town, yet inaccessible in the sea except for boat trips. Extremely narrow, hilly roads (several so steep the sidewalks had steps) The pictures displaying the rooms are misleading, few "views"; mine looked out upon the rear of other houses/hotels showing waste pipes and sewage pipes - not pleasant. Another illustrated a rooftop terrace and swimming pool, yet this was part of a de luxe room, not available to other guests. Artistic licence? Travel is difficult, walking nearly impossible, no parking near this hotel, bus station is nearby, yet the streets are very hilly. I advise to get a reputable cab service ASAP, as bus timetables are complicated. Valletta is overrun by seversel immigrants, all speaking different languages, few understand English. Food and alcohol are expensive, drinking water in bottles. NO, I wouldn't visit again.

The hotel was perfect for our needs - convenient, quiet, comfortable and right in the center of town - perfect for our two-night stay. I would argue that he hotel feels more like a good quality business hotel than a true boutique hotel - but then the prices are also far from what In would expect for a very unique and boutique hotel experience. This is not intended to take ANYTHING away from the experience of Palazzo Paolina - bed was very comfy, coffee machine worked perfectly, bathroom was spotless etc. Also the reception staff were very willing to answer any questions and give recommendations - they really acted as combined concierge and tourist advisers during our short stay. And breakfast (included in the price) was very reasonable in my opinion, and very generous. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again.
