Hotel's Favourite
Highly recommend this hotel. Ronnie at reception is friendly and full of knowledge on what to see and do. Room was clean spacious and good size, bathroom perfect, the shower is brilliant. We were on floor 5 room 501 which has a balcony and great views over the harbour, cathedral and Sliema. Never tried breakfast as always went out to eat. It’s in a great location , easy walk to the centre. Only downside was the size of pool, only 6 allowed round it and some people stayed there for ages in the afternoon , should be shared or given a length of time allowed at it. Would definitely stay again

The location is stunning, right in the heart of Old Valetta. We were mostly happy, staying on the 5th floor, accessed by an efficient modern lift. However, there were some issues... irritating noises emanating from above when trying to sleep which we took to be plumbing,/aircon/ heating relalted. Otherwise, a quiet room. Added to which we had days with no heating which we would have liked when the weather turned chilly in the evening. We were here during perhaps exceptionally bad weather in December with very strong wind and rain...and both came in through a badly fitted old window, which wasn't great. We were quite happy with the breakfast but disappointed that the hot food wasn't hot ... presumably cooked for the opening hour but if you arrived an hour or two later it was not good ...and sugar free options were very limited. We asked for a late check-out yet despite it stating on Google that this is at 12, it is 11 and our request was refused and we had to leave our room by 11 yet there was a queue at reception so we had to wait there for half an hour! There's a luggage room but it is on the floor below down a very tight staircase and with no staff assistance. So, our departure was not the best! However, there was one very good old - school receptionist who was very pleasant and we enjoyed our chats with him when we saw him in the evening and he made up for the otherwise mostly impersonal staff.

Response from Brian Caruana, General Manager at Osborne Hotel
Responded 22 Dec 2023
Dear Galeria, We appreciate your time to review our hotel. Reviews from our esteemed guests help us improving on the services we offer. We would like however to clear some comments which may be misleading or misunderstood. We do apologise for the heating issue, the setting for heating was switched off for some reason, however when were alerted to this issue our technician rectified this immediately. We will be looking also into the noise that you have mentioned, it could be emanating from a pump that needs attention. As you have correctly pointed out, during your stay, Malta was hit with a violent storm with wind speed up to force 8/9 and heavy rain. Some water might have seeped in through the window. The window in your room is neither badly fitted and nor old, is an aluminium double glazed recently fitted window, however our dedicated maintenance team have already looked into this, removed the sealer around the frame and resealed the window again. The luggage room which is in -1 floor is also reachable by lift, by pressing -1 button. Check out time at the Osborne Hotel is at 11:00am as published in all platforms that the Osborne Hotel is featured in. We will however be looking into what is published on Google to rectify the check out time. Please do understand that rooms on check out have to be thoroughly cleaned and then inspected to be cleared for check in again for the nexts guest. Check in time being 14:00hrs. We do understand that no one likes waiting, but do appreciate that in hotels, sometimes the front desk does get busy and the front desk agent on duty has to see to each and every client one after the other, I am sure that this however, does not take half an hour. As for the breakfast, this is cooked and replenished all the time and kept in heated shaffers on the buffet table and not cooked before breakfast opens and stops there, however with constant opening and closing of the shaffers heat might be lost, but I assure you that food is cooked fresh daily and constantly during the time that our restaurant is open for breakfast. Please also do note that all our staff are highly trained and do their best to assist our clients in all their needs, issues and requests. Hope that above has cleared any questions that might had. Wish you all the best. Kindest regards, Brian Caruana General Manager Osborne Hotel

Stayed here for 4 nights and will definitely return in future. Room was clean and spacious, staff were friendly and on hand to answer any questions. Breakfast and drinks in the bar were reasonably priced. Ideally located to all the attractions Valetta has to offer and a 10 minute walk to the ferry port and bus station if you want to venture further afield. Special mention to the lady on reception on Saturday evening who sorted out our transfer to the airport which was running late. Thank you.

I had an excellent and enjoyable weeks stay at the awesome Osborne Hotel. The check-in was very quick and efficient. The young man on reception who greeted me was warm, kind, friendly, welcoming, and professional. All the receptionists were all warm, kind, helpful, and make you feel welcome. The room I was allocated was a lovely clean and modern room located on the 4th floor. The in room facilities were excellent. I had a modern ensuite, a fridge, aircon with a comfy double bed, desk with a chair, a comfy chair, and great lighting. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made my visit very enjoyable. The location of the hotel is excellent near to all the sites.

I’m just back from a great week in Malta, staying at the Osborne Hotel in Valletta. The hotel is in a great location, at the end of South Street, one of the closest streets to the main city gate - it was only a ten minute walk from the bus station. It’s only a few streets from Republic Street, where most of the shops are, and Merchant Street, where lots of the restaurants are. Despite this, the street itself is quiet at night and even though my room overlooked the street, it was very quiet at night. My room was very well decorated and equipped, with tea/coffee making facilities, mini fridge, a comfortable bed and a good en-suite. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and I was able to leave my bags at the hotel on the last day, as I had an evening flight. I had breakfast in the hotel on a couple of occasions - they have a good basic choice of cooked and continental breakfast options, and the dining room was well decorated and big enough to accommodate everyone using it. It cost €15 though, so if you only want a coffee and croissant in the morning it’s probably not for you. There’s also a hotel bar, which looked comfortable, although I didn’t use it. The other nice feature is the rooftop terrace, which has a small pool and some seats, tables and sun loungers, so if you wanted to have a relaxing time in the sun you don’t have to go anywhere. The hotel also has a small fitness suite in the basement, with a few machines - probably adequate for most people. Overall, I had a great stay, and I’d definitely go back - hard to imagine a better located hotel.

The hotel was beyond expectations. We only had to full days in Malta. Emailed prior for attractions that we could book into. On arrival Savior had two of our options ready to go only needed our approval. Booked there on the spot. Saviour, you and your team rock. Both day trips were amazing. The hotel itself was welcoming from the onset. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. The location was amazing. Walking distance to everything in Valletta. Will highly recommend 👌

Lovely traditional hotel. Staff were brilliant and incredibly helpful. Great location, so easy for the harbour and the town centre. Breakfasts were good and the bar cool and comfortable. Does need to find a way to eliminate the mosquitos!

4 of us stayed for a week. One was wheel chair bound. Hotel generally good, but when we asked Reception how to visit a famous sunday market at Marsalokk, 2 receptionists separately, tried to sell us two 'hop on' and 'hop off' bus tours, costing 25 euros each. (ie total 50 euros) We were given specific illustrated written directions to a pick up point for that sunday market bus. However on arrival at pickup point, the bus was full. The bus attendant stated that this bus was always full at this pick up point due to the popularity of the market on sundays. This attendant said we should have been directed to the bus station and joined the queue there. Being wheelchair bound, we could not go elsewhere easily and so used the second trip we had purchased, to Medina. That driver dropped us off assuring us of the times we could expect 'hop on' buses later. 3 of these failed to appear and we spent a total of 2 and half hours in sweltering sun waiting. We spoke to other receptionists on return to hotel and were told we should have been advised to use local buses which cost 2 euros each to anywhere in the island, and these were air conditioned! As a result we complained to Hotel manager regarding the mis-selling of the hop on/off buses, suspecting back handers were involved. The manager. admitted bad advice but refused any compensation. So we lost most of a day's holiday effectively and 50 euros each. Truly very disappointing. The respective receptionists were still in post too!
