Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great small boutique hotel on a quiet street. A renovated old townhouse with just a handful of bedrooms. Very spacious room. We had a twin bedded room (2 doubles). Great breakfast - a varied selection of both cooked foods, pastries, fruit, yoghurts and savouries.

One of the best locations , you do have some stairs to climb to get to the hotel , the usual ( old European city) style ! Wifi not great , so don’t depend on that. They have a lift that services 5 floors , if your room is on then6th you’ll need to walk up two flights . They had a power outage , that shorted the aircon , so it was really hot until that was fixed ! And the water pressure was non existent , they advised also due to the power outage . Lovely staff who seemed to work tirelessly to fix minor issues, just small things that keep happening …. If you can choose the junior terrace suite !

The reason I am rating this lower is for one thing: not enough hot water for more than a 2 minute shower. Seriously. I timed it. I even woke up one morning at 4:30 AM, thinking I would beat everyone else. Nope. This is a developed country in Europe, there is no excuse for insufficient hot water. Minor complaint: The shower grout was filled with black stuff that was either mold or missing grout. I wasn't getting close enough to find out. Internet speed was around 20, but it would randomly shut off at least once a day. Would be a pain if you were in a work meeting. Hotel itself is in a good location. You're within a 5-10 minute walk of great restaurants. Also 8-10 minutes from the bus station. Bed was OK. There was only one pillow and it wasn't that soft. Towels were usually slightly damp, likely from hang drying. They were big though. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion provided but they are teeny tiny bottles. Breakfast was good. Selection of hot and cold food. The staff was exceptionally friendly and always helpful!! I want to move up to a 3.5/5 just for the staff.

Fantastic hotel - perfectly situated in the heart of Valletta, beautiful rooms (well sized and very well decorated) and really great staff (super helpful and friendly). Breakfast was provided and was satisfactory. Highly recommend a stay here.

I had a really comfortable stay here, just felt at home. The hotel is pretty trendy, bed was super cozy and the breakfast is delicious. They provided a dressing gown and slippers, and having the nespresso machine in the room was great! They let me check in about 1-2 hours early which was very much appreciated after a 3am start. The location is excellent, around the corner from busy streets and the harbour. Under 10 mins walk to the ferry terminal to Gozo and to the bus terminal. A few doors up there is really fun live music on Fri and Sat nights at a restaurant and its 3 mins walk to Upper Barrakka gardens. Only negatives were that the safe in my room didnt work and wasn’t attended to even after asking a couple of different people to help. They replaced my towels every day which was unnecessary. Watch out for charges, I was charged for some snacks and not others and not for the water.

Dont let the title fool you, I had an amazing time at SU29 and the hotel has wonderful staff, great location and great amenities; However one does have to wonder why the hotel has to continually bind itself to the 'boutique' hotel idea when a few simple adjustments could make it a much better experience for the guests. The open plan bathroom looks cool in the photos but imagine sleeping in the same room after taking a stinking dump? The rooms are beautifully decorated but lack any sort of storage space (no drawers, closets or hollowed spaces). Similarly, the table is chock full of items/amenities but that doesnt leave any space to open a laptop or even place a plate. Final short gripe is the lack of any sort of view in the junior studio. But as i said, in the end, my stay was actually defined by the always smiling, always helpful receptionists for whom none of my crazy asks or questions were too much! The breakfast was wonderful for a European city centre hotel with assortment of cakes, pancakes and fruits and was continuously stocked. The location was amazing as well but since the hotel is accessed through an inclined road with steps, it might be difficult to reach for some. The room had all the amenities you could ask for (kudos for the great coffee, AC and smart TV) and the wifi was flawless and quick! The hotel can easily hand out 5star experiences if only it decides to choose utility over aesthetics ...

I recently just visited the excellent city of Valletta, and I stay at the very nice Su29 Hotel, its located in an nice and quiet street right near the centre of the city, everything is in walking distance although there is lots of steps and hills! But it's good exercise! This Boutique Hotel was very pleasant with friendly and helpful staff and a nice breakfast in the mornings. The room was perfect for a solo traveller. Hope to return in the future.

We had 2 nights stay as a short break from the every day life in our capital city, this boutique hotel offers the great atmosphere for one to relax. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had the loft room and was very spacious with all the commodities. Cleanliness was super and the housekeeping did a very good job. Also they abide to the restrictions and safety of covid 19 regulations. Breakfast was super amazing and all the food was cooked to perfection. Thanks a lot for making my stay wonderful we will visit again

나는 다시는 이 호텔을 예약하지 않을것이다. 이 호텔은 나의 말타의 추억을 나쁘게 만들었다. 내가 투숙했던 호텔 중에서 고객 응대 최하이다. I will never go to SU29 hotel, again. This hotel made Malta' memories very bad. Costermer service is too bad. I have experienced all hotel of 1st to 5th grade. It is the lowest hotel I have ever experienced.

My wife and I stayed in the Sky Villa at the top of the hotel which has amazing views, a large outside deck and huge, comfy bed. It was very quiet at night and close to many bars, sites and restaurants. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. If it's available, spend the extra money for the Sky Villa - you're worth it! As others have mentioned, the water pressure is sometimes very low for the shower but if you wait a minute or two it was fine. We really enjoyed this hotel and would gladly stay here again.
