Very central Clean and comfortable. Worth paying small extra for harbour view. Breakfast good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Coffee out for early departure. The lift is a historic gem! This a good hotel for a short stay and the main sights of the capital are within easy walking distance

I enjoyed my first couple of days on the Faroes Isles at the Hotel Torshavn. the staff were also very friendly helpful and chatty, it was a shame that the restaurant staff weren't as attentive, often left waiting for a table or to be served?

The first time I visited this hotel in 2003 and 3, it had a different name and did not sell alcohol. In 2016, it has been rebranded and upgraded and now sells alcohol. I had a very comfortable stay and the bed was lovely, soft and welcoming. Despite the first autumn storm outside, I was cosy and warm inside. Would... More

This is a centrally located hotel that is very comfortable and homey. I arrived on the ferry from Iceland, at 3 a.m. Check in was quick and efficient and shortly I was asleep in my room. Breakfast is a full European buffet. The room was clean, bright and airy, quiet and reasonably priced.

We stayed here for 11 nights recently and loved it. We had a lovely large room (301) which had a fantastic view over the harbour. There was seating and two tables in the window-space overlooking the harbour, where we sat with a glass of wine and watched the world go by. It was lovely. The bed was comfy and there... More

By sheer coincidence I wound up in Tórshavn during Ólavsøka, the Faroese national day. Hotel Tórshavn is right in the middle of the festivities. That being said, noise was never an issue. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and generally speak Faroese, English, and Danish. They're very knowledgeable about the area and can easily recommend restaurants and sights. Located a... More

Comfortable rooms with plenty of hot water for showers (we were cycling). We were worried that there would be noise from the nightclub across the road but closing the double glazed windows seemed cut out most of the noise. The staff were extremely helpful, finding information we needed and even lent us a screwdriver for bike repairs. The food in... More

Restaurant and hotel service is good, but let down by poor quality rooms. Bathrooms are small and showers particularly basic and cramped. Room smelt of cigarettes. Corridors are uncared for, some carpets look dirty. Disappointing

You couldn't get any more central than this hotel -- it's three steps from the harbor. The problem is, that it's getting old and tired and is in need of a major facelift. The carpets are old, the mattresses are lumpy -- but the kids who staff the front desk are excellent.I would definitely stay here again. I had originally... More

Hotel is situated in a broader centre of the town, close to the Faroese parliament. There is not a plethora of hotels in the area, so this could be a good choice for budget travelers. Rooms are rather tiny with a very simple bathroom. Shower is no way separated from the rest of bathroom which perhaps causes a slight but... More
