Lying in a secluded dip in the hills prolifically planted with trees and shrubs to provide shelter for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes. The whole site is meticulously maintained to a very high standard from the spotless ablution blocks to the neatly trimmed grass. The site shop stocks a complete range of goods including groceries, alcohol, books, toys, souvenirs, fresh local dairy produce and a selection of caravan accessories. An exchange facility is offered for both Calor and Camping Gas. Dogs on leads are very welcome but are excluded from the shop and toilet blocks. The two excellent ablution blocks provide hot showers at no extra cost, and outside sinks for pots. In addition there is a coin operated laundry, drying and ironing facilities adjoining a small playroom with amusement machine. Two large play areas are provided with swings and a climbing frame. Seats are placed around the site for use whilst keeping an eye on the children or simply watching the world go by. The site is situated halfway between Buxton and Ashbourne at the junction of the A515 and A5012. Carriages restaurant and the Newhaven Garage are adjacent to the site. Within easy reach of the Derbyshire Dales, Historic Houses and attractive Derbyshire villages. Close to the Tissington and High Peak Trails. AA 4 Pennant Site and English Tourist Board Graded 4 Star.

Stayed here for a 5 night caravan break and pleasantly surprised on arrival. Sue had already called to see if we were arriving early but as we were running slightly late it was not an option. However the ‘meet & greet’ on arrival was really nice. Paul noticed some damage incurred to the connection when we got there, needed a new connection bought and then wired up. Paul was happily going to have one of the lads sort it without even a prompt. Through the time there they were always friendly and happy to help. The site itself was super clean and the shower/toilet blocks constantly checked and cleaned. All hard standing pitches set in a surround of trees. There does appear to be a lot of ‘seasonal’ units along with static accommodation but our pitch was in the area beyond so no major issues are had. Evenings were nice listening to owls ‘hooting’ and foxes barking. A tad noisy on the traffic side with the bikers having fun but I doubt you’ll escape that at ANY caravan/camping site tbh. Did have tv signal problems (which I’m sure could have been resolved) but used my iPad instead of the tv so not overly inconvenienced. Overall a great ‘base’ to explore the surrounding areas, we did Chatsworth and Heights of Abraham along with a trip out to reservoir dams and nature walks. I’d go back to this site quite happily and reading some of the other reviews can honestly say they must have stayed somewhere else and reviewed the wrong site. We have been here a few times now as my uncle has a season pitch and we take our touring caravan. Site is very well kept always clean and tidy.situated in beautiful surroundings and not far from matlock bath and buxton. Staff are friendly and helpful. Shop on site has all your essentials. Playground is fab for kids,my 10 year old daughter loves it,especially the ping pong table. Already have plans to return this year before it closes for end of season.

We really enjoyed our time here at Newhaven. The pitch we were given for our Caravan was perfect, very pretty location with lots of space. We found the facilities on site great and always very clean. The little shop is ideal and especially the walk to it, as you pass the site’s ducks which were always a favourite for our dog and little girl. On arrival we were met by Paul and Sue who were very helpful and friendly. With this being our first time ‘caravaning’ we were a little unsure how everything works but they were both kind and spent time with us explaining the site and even the best ways to set up our van. We booked a last minute deal so there wasn't much choice of sites around so when we booked New haven we thought that anything would do. That wasn't the case, it turns out that New haven was just perfect. A quiet site with a good mix of statics, caravans and good grass pitches with hookups. We had quite a large tent and was worried that it would be too big for a pitch but they assured me that it would fine, excellent grass area with plenty of gravel paths around to get about. The toilet and shower block near us were brand new and so clean, there was another block next to the shop and reception that even tho isn't as new is still in great condition and really clean. The location was great, only five minutes from bakewell and around twenty minutes from Matlock so really handy. We also felt really looked after while we were staying, you could always find a member of staff out and about doing their work such as keeping grass cut and general tidying and maintenance, they would always find time to help you as much as they could. Would definitely recommend this site and I will be definitely returning.…

We have a seasonal pitch here and the manager go the wrong way round the site they go over 10 miles a hour and they have tampered with out bike like 7 time don’t come here over all very very very bad the management can suck one
