Based on other good reviews and the fact that people return, we booked a 2-week, half-board stay at the Avanti Holiday Village at the beginning of October. We were definitely not disappointed. We arrived late and were welcomed by friendly reception staff who had provided a wonderful cold meal in our apartment. Our apartment was very spacious and well-equipped, with it's own terrace to sit out on. The super king bed was comfortable and the Air con was wonderful and completely adjustable. It was hidden among winding paths with palm trees, flowering hedges and shrubs along the way. The two pools were massive, and the complex in general was amazing (always spotless). All staff were really friendly. Breakfast and lunch were available on the village site at the Taverna where we were always greeted by the manager Demetra who treated us like old friends (Efharisto Demetra!). Our waiters, Elsa, Benjamin and Oana couldn't do enough for us (efharisto again), and the food was wonderful and plentiful. Evening meals were at the nearby Avanti Hotel and were buffet-style. The food was good and plentiful, although there was some repetition. The culninary "Theme Nights" were repeated every week. The same could be said of the entertainment. Entertainment was available on both sites, and there were some wonderful shows (Cypriot dancers' show was a must), but also some mediocre ones, and the entertainment was repeated on the second week. Overall, we loved our stay and Paphos was amazing, with sandy beaches within reachable distance, and plenty of historical and archeological sites to visit. There are sea cruises of various lengths and great food wherever we went. We'd recommend a visit to Famagusta and the ghost town of Varosha. All in all, we had a wonderful 2 weeks, and would definitely go back.

This is a large village style complex hence the name. A lot of reviews say about the rooms needing a refurb but they really don’t, probably more 3* than 4* but they are more than adequate. Positives are they are massive in size, beds were super comfy and air con inc in both bedroom and living area too for the kids. The most complete self catering kitchen we’ve ever had not that we used it too much… Your a handy 5 min walk to the beach/promonade, 3-4 mins from bars/restaurants and about a 15-20 minute walk to the harbour. We felt a little bit out the way but we’re ok with that. The village is cashless apart from reception so you either charge stuff to the room or pay by card. My only gripe was I thought the pool bar was expensive at 4e for a local beer in a plastic cup we rarely used it, as did many others as you looked around the pool most were bringing stuff in from supermarkets…. Speaking of the pool it’s large, very clean but absolutely freezing, at least it was in October…. Ents team we’re friendly but not intrusive. Would return…

There is so much too like about the Avanti Holiday Village, would summarise the following as some real positive points... Transfer Time / Location - Literally 20 minutes from the airport, which is is great when you have had a 4 hour plus flight, feels like you are at the hotel in no time. In terms of location, you are within 25 minute walk of Paphos harbour in one direction, with the mini golf, go karting and waterpark all within 10/15 minute walk. Food - We stayed half board and the food was of a really nice standard. For breakfast you had a choice of all your normal English breakfast items, bacon, sausage, eggs etc. As well as that you have freshly cooked pastries and a full range of more continental items, cereal, toast, cheese, yoghurt etc. In terms of the evening meal this is actually served in the sister hotel across the road, which is a 3/4 minute walk, again lots of choice with a theme each night, always lots on offer for most, for children and those who do not like the theme options, you can fall back on the kids corner with chips, nuggets etc. For dessert, lots of cakes, ice cream etc as well as various cheeses if you don't want a sweet treat. Drinks are not included of course, but this were reasonable, 14 euros for 4 large cokes, which is paid at the end of your holiday. WIFI - This was excellent, fast enough to watch videos and all the normal bits and pieces you would want. I am not sure if the signal is stronger in certain parts of the hotel, but everywhere we were it was great. Pool / Sunbeds - The pool is very large and there was never any issues if you wanted to get sunbeds, although like everywhere the prime sunbeds are often taken fairly early, not a rush though like in some hotels. The pool itself is fairly shallow and there is no deep end really, think 1.2 metres may be the deepest, good for those who have kids, obviously smaller ones still need to pay attention. We actually like a deeper pool so this was not quite to our taste but for most it will be excellent. Late check out - We had a night flight so was great that the checkout as standard was midday, you can also extend this to various times for a fee, think it was 60 euros if you wanted a room till 6pm, feels decent value if you want to go out on your final day. If you don't want to pay that the hotel does provide luggage storage so either way you have options In terms of just things to think about... Hotel accommodation - The hotel itself looks really nice, the grounds are well kept, reception nice, that said the rooms themselves I would say are 3 star, they are comfortable but I would nice say they are 4 star. It was nice to have a double bed, which is often not the case, and two single beds were made up in advance, which was good, again though overall the room was similar to 3 star we have stayed at previously. Terrace / Balcony - There are two levels, we were ln the ground floor and had no sun at any point during the day. It was not much of an issue as we spent most days out and about, however for those who like some sunshine as you sit outside, you may not get this in certain blocks like ours, lots of trees and shaded areas. I guess you could request a terrace or balcony with a sunny aspect if you wanted. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return, and for the price we paid for the 4 of us we felt it was good value for a week in October, if there was a 3.5 star I think this would be more appropriate.

Just returned from a fantastic two weeks We have stayed here previously, and it continues to delight. Great spacious and very comfortable apartments The beds are so comfortable. Plenty of sunbeds so no need for silliness in reserving beds with towels. The staff and cleaning staff are wonderful. We will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone at the Avanti.

PROS - Cats everywhere - Very clean! Cleaning staff took pride in their work and were very friendly - Comfy double bed - Daily servicing of apartment was helpful - Ability to charge drinks/food to room was helpful - Nearby convenience store - Frequent busses from nearby bus stops to tourist hotspots - Air-con in room was very helpful - Our apartment was right at the very back near the piazza, was very quiet, our terrace was very private CONS - Despite being allergy aware, no labels on any of the food at the buffet, was offered gone-off almond milk upon request for non-dairy milk - At least a 30min walk to the harbour - The couch smelled of vomit so could not use it - Rooms basic but outdated and had no character Overall, it does what it says on the tin. Very clean, has all the necessities, activities and pool facilities looked like good fun although we did not use them. I would definitely recommend this to families and to those who will be spending most of their time at the hotel. TIPS: If one of your group members is Vegan they may struggle to find some suitable food (also applies to Paphos in general, I mostly survived off chips and pita bread), however, Avanti is not entirely at fault as this could have been discussed with them before arriving which we did not do, so definitely have a chat with them before you arrive. Please treat the cat population kindly, you can buy food from the nearby shop, pretend you cant read the signs telling you not to feed them ;)

This was our second visit to the hotel, and we had a lovely relaxing break here. Lovely pool areas and plenty of sun beds available. Very spacious hotel and great staff, especially Demetra in the restaurant, she was always very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We made a few friends here and we all plan to return in the future.

We went with our family ( boys 7 and 12) and rented one of the apartments. The hotel is a really convenient. The buses into the harbor and pathos are not far and run regularly. We caught them to visit the castle, mosaics and tomb of the kings. We stayed for bed and breakfast, which was okay, standard food. There are lots of restaurants very close by catering for all different foods. All that we went to catered for children (pizza, chicken nuggets etc). The hotel staff were all very friendly, we had an accident in the bed and they cleaned it promptly, when it was to noisy one night (Saturday) they offered us a place at the hotel and upgrade to all inclusive, which we didn't take and the other nights the noise level was fine. The pool is great, very large and much enjoyed by the children. This time of year about 30 mins before the kids are too cold. This was my first time in Cyprus and it's a lovely place. Very much catering for the huge amount of English tourists they get each year. The apartments were very comfortable if rather basic.. No cheese grater, no shampoo or shower gel. Not many places to store items for a family of four. But beds comfortable, nice thick curtains and good air conditioning. Overall a lovely experience.

We are just about to leave The Avanti Village. It's better if you have a young family rather than as just a couple, but the place is well located for Paphos harbour, a 20min walk, and small beaches, but bear in mind this part of Cyprus has a series of narrow shale/sand beaches with rocky areas just under the water... get yourself pass that and at this time of year the sea is nice and warm. The village appts are large and spacious, well kept, but you could be staring in at your neighbours depending on where you are allocated your appt. However, a pleasant enough environment, reccomended. We were right down as far from the pool as possible, with great access to the bars and eateries. Recommend The Fiesta Bar, Tea for two and Rimini's... Pelican bar ok for a beer. Loud ...loud ..music coming from the square ...possibly the fish resturant just outside the far end of the appts near Fiesta bar - but only on Saturday - well into the early hours though... Mixed group here in the appts, lots of families with youngsters, mainly fellow Brits, in Paphos itself lots of Russians and some other nationalites around, but not really staying in this complex A very nice week... good value for money appts. 8 out 10....
