Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As many people write I confirm that the male receptionist at the early shift is indeed rude and arrogant to guests! There were group of disgusting and disrespectful guests on the 2nd floor - rooms 212 and 210 who were shouting, screaming and running from room to room until 1am!!! I have called the receptionist but she didnt do anything, so they finally stop after I had to shout at them. How can you have staff that tolerate some horrible people disturb all the guests of your hotel during night!?!?!?! The swimming pool was closed. This place is also run off, very old and dirty in need of urgent renovation. I havent had such an awful stay for such a long time. Please avoid it at any cost. Hopefully will be closed!

Are you sure you stayed at our hotel ? The swimming pool has been open since June the 1st until september the 30th. On the other hand, the cleanliness is ona of our hallmarks, as many guests confirm. A main renovation has been done in 2016, even if the hotel is here sinces 1940 . That is why we are sure you have not stayed in our hotel. In the future you should better focus when you write a review, and be sure not comment on a hotel you have not stayed at.

Well located right near the centre and a mere 10 minute walk (uphill) from the bus station. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the rooms were a perfect size for a two-night stay. Breakfast was very good, as was the dining area. The hotel bar was more than adequate for a chill. Best of all was the swimming pool on the roof of the adjoining building, with stunning views and great for freshening off from the summer heat. I'd stay there again!

Subtitle: (A Face Like...) Thunder In The Mountains!!! Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. Some positives; the roof swimming pool right under the mountains was really vibey and atmospheric; the wonderfully changeable weather (with lots of sun but briefly interspersed with mountain thunder storms and monsoon like rain which I LOVED!), the lovely reception lady who was there some days and the regular bar gentleman couldn't have been more helpful; and the general feel and furnishing was charmingly old fashioned, quaint and classic. The negatives; the young male receptionist who radiated unfriendliness and did not crack a single smile on the several occasions we interacted (truly the most unwelcoming hotel staff member we have ever encountered; hence my feeble attempt at a witty subtitle!); the key card system needs replacing - almost every key we went through lost its magnetism within hours and had to be recalibrated; and the restaurant, called the 1940 Restaurant, didn't open until 20.30! (Not that culturally unusual, I admit, in Spain/Andorra, but more unusual for a HOTEL restaurant.) So, all in all, not bad but could do better!

Quaint and older style hotel. Parking in separate car park payable to the hotel at €16 per night. Comfortable bed and good shower facilities. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room but did have a fridge. Swimming pool not open until after our stay. Good location very close to Casa de la Vall and shopping facilities. Cheap petrol close by.

We visited Andorra le Vella on a city break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel were very prompt even before our stay when we emailed them with queries regarding the room amenities. Everything was explained to us about the hotel on arrival clearly and the man behind the desk sorted out a reservation for us that evening to dine at the 1940s restaurant which was excellent value for money! The food was very tasty and the restaurant was well kept. The rooms are a bit small which I already knew before booking so if you want more space then I’d recommend upgrading your room but this was fine for the 2 of us for three nights. The rooms were kept clean and tidy, the only issue we had with the room was that we found it too warm which was centrally controlled and the aircon wasn’t on with it being winter. Breakfast was lovely and again what we expected which was a continental breakfast and a nice selection of meats and cheeses I must say. You could pay a small supplement if you wanted something cooked. It was a great idea to have sittings for breakfast so it was never too busy at one time. My only suggestion would be to start breakfast from 7am as 8am was too late for us to catch breakfast before our transfer. That being said, the hotel organised us a breakfast to go which was ready and waiting for us the moment we checked out. The bar on site was very relaxed and the bartender was very friendly even letting us taste some of the drinks that we hadn’t heard of before. The pool and table tennis weren’t open with it being winter however we did take a walk to see where they were. They are situated in the most unusual place at the top of the parking lot, I just think that walkway up could do with being refurbished as it wasn’t very inviting but this didn’t affect our stay at all. Overall we found the hotel to be very cosy and welcoming and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonable stay in Andorra! To anyone considering whether to stay in Andorra or just visit for the day then 100 percent stay in Andorra as there’s so much more to offer here than you think! Thank you for a lovely stay!

My room (single) was quite small and with no window facing backyard, which was not surprising after I had seen some pictures. Sometimes a bit noisy from the backyard and the corridor, but not unbearable. Good breakfast served in time slots of 45 minutes from 8 till 10.30. (cereals, salami, ham, cheese, some sweet options), a good variety of coffee, tea and bread. Eggs and warm dishes paid extra. Two-minute´s walk to the Town Hall and church, 5-minute´s walk to restaurants and shopping centres, 10-minute´s walk to the bus station. Staff helpful and friendly at the front desk as well as in the breakfast lounge.

A nice hotel in a charming part of the city. The most idyllic restaurants found in this area. The room was very cozy and had all the amenities you can wish for. There is a pool but it's located on the roof of a neighbouring building. The breakfast was quite good and had also some salty options such as cold cuts, eggs etc (which is not the case in many hotels in France, Italy or Spain). It would have been nice to be able to buy some drinks to the pool, but there is no bar and we were left with the impression that it wasn't allowed to buy something from the lobby bar and take it with you up there. The receptionist told us that there is a vending machine by the pool, which there was, but it was almost empty. Only a few cans of soda left. The garage is a good thing, but like almost everywhere in Andorra la Vella, it's quite expensive.

Room was very noisy; was kept up from people shouting in the corridor all night. Booked a table in the hotel's restaurant, received a confirmation email for my booking only to show up and be told by a member of staff that the restaurant was closed. When I asked why I received a confirmation email, the member of staff just shrugged his shoulders.
