Had the best time in this gorgeous hotel and location! My daughter and I arrived and were upgraded from our Superior double room in the annex to an even better one, with a side-view of the palace and lake. The staff were just lovely. The...More
We only stayed one night but were extremely impressed with the huge room we had in the annex building and very much enjoyed strolling the beautiful grounds. This hotel is not centrally located, but that is the trade off for such a peaceful secluded experience....More
We stayed in the premier lake view room in the annex building. Originally we planned to stay at the main building but the rooms were fully booked. After touring the hotel, I think it’s better to stay at the annex building. For I find it...More

As I recall, it’s about a mile walk from hotel to town. There are a couple of ways to walk. One involves some hills, the other flatter but along streets. I’m a little fuzzy on the walking details. There is a bus stop right near the hotel which we used a couple of times. We also used Uber which worked very well and was economical. We absolutely loved staying at this hotel and woul highly recommend it although we were there in August so different weather than December. If you are a Sound of Music fan you will love it!
