It was one of our best vacations. The room was extremely huge, romantic, decorated fantastic, well equipped and sooooo clean. Breakfast was amazing, highest quality of products and large variety. We loved everything in this property and above all, the kindness and professionalism of the owners Caroline and Roland. We are dreading to return back soon (:

We were looking for words to describe our stay and had a lot to say, when suddenly, realised that we felt like guests. No one of hundreds in a modern hotel chains, but guests of the place, the feeling was as we had been invited and the hosts did everything, went above and beyond. The building is very old and has a character. The room is perfectly appointed and clean. The cleanliness could only be found in 4 star hotels in Japan. Breakfast is great. For a such small hotel the variety was amazing. While it may sound like a place away from the city - it only took 35 minutes to walk downhill to all the tourists attractions. Uber/taxi ride back was 12euros. Quiet area and high quality mattress played its important role in a good night sleep.

The rooms and apartments, all completely refurbished and beautifully appointed, are set in the context of a centuries old family home and bakery. Many original details have been lovingly restored, but all the infrastructure (bathrooms, wi-fi, televisions, kitchen ) are top notch at the level you would expect in a 4-5 star hotel. The owners are very welcoming and the whole property is immaculately maintained and clean. Easy to recommend as a base to visit Salzburg and the surrounding region.

Such a lovely place to stay while touring Salzburg and surrounding area. We had room number one - which is on the main floor, it is very spacious, has a view of the city, a kitchen, a extremely comfortable king size bed and a beautiful bathroom with a large glass shower. Our hosts, Caroline and Roland, were friendly, helpful and made sure our stay there was most enjoyable. The breakfast was outstanding with a huge variety of meats, cheese, breads (including sweet breads) yogurt, fruits and vegetables. Caroline would cook eggs anyway you wanted them. All delicious! The room had an Nespresso machine and Caroline provide teapots as well. Caroline was able to arrange a horse drawn carriage ride into the city which was fun and informative. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Salzburg.

My husband and I had the privilege of staying at Die Haslachmuhle last week. We were only there for a night because we were on our way to Slovenia to pick up a new furry family member. Our dog Arran was with us. We stayed in the city view room, which has a huge balcony and a gorgeous masonry heater. I loved that room! The walls are surrounded by bookshelves filled with so many books-- most of which appeared to be in German. It was so nice to watch the sun go down over the mountains after our long drive from Germany. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom had a nice shower. Everything was spotlessly clean, too. We also appreciated the free parking, which is kind of a rarity in some areas. The B&B is very charming and even has its own little chapel. Breakfast was plentiful and the proprietor even cooked eggs for us. Arran was very welcome, too. I kept saying we needed to come back and stay longer. I love Salzburg, but two out of the three times we've been there have been just for overnights on the way to or from home in Germany. If you're looking for a unique, historic, and romantic place to stay, Die Haslachmuhle fits the bill nicely! Thanks for a wonderful stay! We hope to be back.

My fiancee and I stayed here for 2 nights duering our recent tour of Austria & wish we could of stayed longer. We were fortunate to be offered a choice of rooms & the 1 we chose had wonderfull views. The room was HUGE ! & had everything that we could possible need. Caroline was our host & could do enough for us, so much so that when I realised I had left my phone charge on the train she lent me hers until I was able to get a replacement. Breakfast was excellent & set us well for a days sight seeing. Bus stops are within walking distance but there is a steep incline to the nearest stop. Some taxi drivers may struggle with the narrow steep access road, especially if it has snowed but let that put you off. I very hope to get the chance to stay here again & it will be my 1st choice if I ever visit Salzburg again. 5☆

After visiting Austria for a week and trying to cram in the 3 main cities, our biggest regret is not staying here longer. The couple who run this place are brilliant, the room was amazing and the breakfast was also very good. Overall value for money was 10/10. Yes, there is a slight walk to town - but in just over 5 minutes you can safely walk down hill to Obergnigl bus stop and from there the bus which runs every 15 minutes takes you to the centre of Salzburg - costing around €6 for a 24 hour ticket. If you wanted a taxi from the centre to the hotel, some may only take you so far depending on the weather as the last part is quite steep but I would recommend downloading MyTaxi App on your phone and they have a number of discount codes which means a journey can cost next to nothing. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone - I can honestly say it's the nicest room we have ever had at any hotel or B&B - the views from the balcony are great and you can sit and watch the sun go down. Overall a faultless stay, 10 out of 10 in every way.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon travelling around Austria, and we could not have been more blessed with a more perfect stay to mark the occasion! Set up in the hills above Salzburg, boasting breathtaking views out across the city, Caroline & Ronnie own the most beautiful, classily decorated home, with a warm welcome thrown in. Our room was just divine. I’m a bookworm, so was over the moon to find our own personal library within our room, complete with an old fashioned fireplace and a balcony wih glorious views. The sunsets from that balcony were insanely stunning! The whole house is charming, cosy, and extremely clean, with a real family feel to it. They even have the most adorable little dog! We were a little worrried about the access to the city, but it could not have been easier! The bus stop is a 10 minute walk away, with busses running to and from town until around 11pm at night. The journey into the city takes approximately 15 minutes, and busses are frequent and dependable. It really was the perfect location: set out of the city for ‘Sound of Music’ authentic countryside views, with easy access to all of the main attractions via public transport! Breakfast was great - the selection is vast, and ranges from breads, buns, toast, cereals, cheeses, meats, pastries, with Caroline taking orders for eggs if required. We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. We would recommend this place to anybody - it is absolutely flawless!

We stayed here for two nights and I wish we had stayed longer. This house is absolutely stunning with lovely views of the mountains and only a short bus journey into the old town. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. There was a large selection of fresh breakfast items each morning. We were even offered breakfast at an earlier time on our second day as we had to catch an early flight. Thank you so much for all your help. What you have there is truly special. Best wishes, Katie.

Die Haslachmuhle is simply INCREDIBLE! We stayed in the "city view" room on the second floor, which was just as amazing in reality as in the pictures. It is huge and just beautifully set up and furnished. It is really a suite, with an entryway leading into the room, and a large modern bathroom. There are seven or eight windows (over three sides of the building) and a huge terrace looking out over the city. Personally, we could not have wished for a better location. Not only is it pastoral (set among hills where you can see sheep) and picturesque, but it's close enough to the center to be convenient (maybe 5 or 10 minutes by car), and there is parking. We loved being near the city, but not in it (such a relief after a long day of sightseeing to come back to fresh air, greenery, and a really beautiful setting). Getting to see the private chapel was really extraordinary as well. You couldn't wish for nicer hosts. It was just perfect!! The only caveat is that the person who parks the car needs to be able to go up and down a steep (but short) hillside.
