I stayed there with my friends over New Years weekend. The hotel itself it's quite small. Also the rooms are small. But the location and the staff are perfect. There are plenty of places to see just walking distance from hotel. Also the Wien Mitte -station where CAT-train from airport arrives is within walking distance. Good restaurants and cafes are...

My daughters and I certainly enjoyed our stay in this hotel . Unbeatable location, warm and efficient staff and a filling breakfast ! Everything I asked for in a hotel , this hotel delivered. I would like to commend Klivia, the front desk staff who printed our museum tickets, gave us recommendations, called a taxi for us. The thai lady...

The location itself is unbeatable, 1 minute or less from Kärtnerstrasse, you have all the Viennese attractions at walking distance. Even the laziest of the lazy can not complain in this respect. The hotel is located in an old, not very big building, consequently the space is really squeezed. The rooms are tiny and the bathroom is almost hidden in...

In my third visit, I found the same completely congenial and efficient small staff on duty 24/7, the same excellent breakfast, and the same unexcelled location. This really is exactly the best block in the old city, quiet yet only a half block off the Kärtnerstrasse, much nearer to everything south and west of St. Stephans (Hofburg, Operhaus, Musikverein, Rathaus,...

A Rick Steves recommended hotel, and a classic recommendation of his. Hotel was very nice, rooms were well appointed, free breakfast was good, everyone was friendly, great location near the main walking area and nearby u-bahn and train stops, and overall the hotel was very good value.

Very nice, traditional family-run hotel right in the middle of the city center and just steps away from the opera house. Quite popular. Very copious breakfast included in the reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice traditional touches such as period chandeliers, wallpaper, sconces, headboards, etc. Very quiet in the room. The single rooms are very small, especially the...

We had such a great stay here. The rooms were very nice with plenty of space. The staff was so friendly and helpful as well. And the location right around the corner from the Vienna Opera and right off the wonderful pedestrian only shopping avenue was just terrific. We would definitely stay here again.

We selected this hotel because of it's convenient location. The hotel is attractive from the outside but not on the inside. The rooms are very, very small and exceedingly hot due to a lack of air-conditioning. The hotel is located on a busy walking street so the rooms are very noisy when the windows are open.

This hotel looks attractive from the outside but it is totally shabby and tacky inside. The rooms are so small you crash into the beds and bruise your legs when attempting to walk around the room. There is no air-conditioning so the rooms are unbearably hot even in the autumn. You have to leave the windows open for air, but...

The location of the hotel was excellent: close to the subway and in a walking distance to museums, opera and shopping streets. The Staff was very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast room was small but cozy. Our room and especially the bathroom was very small. The only negativity about the hotel was the lack of the air conditioner.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
