Location, history, view, and rumpled luxury. Our stay in the Hotel Imperial was really the cornerstone of our visit to Vienna. From the greeting at the door, desk, and entrance to our room, to the restaurants and hotel services, I can't think of a single thing that appeared out of place or was missed. Not to be missed - requesting...

Dear “VBSC” and partner, Your praise and “perfect score” rating is much appreciated. Thank you for your kind words and compliments. Allow me to clarify for other travellers that whilst we do have some upper floor rooms at the Hotel Imperial that provide restricted views of the Vienna State Opera House, live performances could not be viewed on the public...

From check-in to check out, the staff will go out of their way to meet and exceed your every need and expectation. Elegant and old world charm. May very well be the heaviest room key fob I've ever encountered. Internet options are limited to two wireless speeds at a very high price. Gym area is modest and tiny - will...

Well located, easy access to everything. Discreet and luxurious. Bit old world and stuffy but maybe all the better for that.

We came to Vienna to see the Klimpt exhibits and we could not have picked a better place to stay especially in terms of location. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the museums and attractions we wanted to see. There are plenty a great restaurants in the general area, but out best meal in Vienna was at...

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in October 2011 as the take off point for a driving trip to to Munich. This was our third stay at the Imperial and the hotel continues to delight us. The front desk was warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about everything going on in Vienna. Our room was lovely and quiet...spotlessly...

We decided to stay here as it is supposed to be "the best". However, the receptionist was poor, our reservation was in an incorrect name and without the amenities we reserved for. We were given a smoking room (which in our reservation, we specifically requested a non-smoking) facing an ugly interior wall. When we asked to be moved to a...

Hotel Imperial made me felt like a princess! The hotel is very grand just like a palace (which it was). There are crystal chandeliers everywhere! Our room is very spacious and well decorated with antique furnishings. The marble bathroom is great, I like how they separated the shower, tub, and the toilet. The location is superb, it's right in the...

The Imperial is in an old palace and is decorated beautifully. Crystal chandeliers, old oil paintings and lovely furnishings are everywhere. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Despite this we did not enjoy our stay. The beds are rock hard and the pillows old and worn out. Starwood hotels usually have great beds, even the lower priced chains....

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
