Booked three nights based on TripAdvisor reviews. As we were traveling by rail, we wanted a hotel that was convenient to the Westbahnhof or within an easy commute by public transit while also being situated close to the principal sights. The Savoy was both. Thanks to the excellent directions provided by hotel staff via e-mail, we were easily able to...

We arrived at this hotel on a cold and rainy night walking from the West train station. It is a 10-15 minute walk. The hotel is very quiet and the lobby is beautiful. We had a large triple room which was clean but the decor was dated and there were spots on the fabric of bed skirts and carpet. Breakfast...

I stayed here in December 2011. The good news is the hotel is cheap and within walking distance of the Vienna State Opera. The bad news is just about everything else. The room was tiny and dark. The desk clerk I encountered most often during my stay was a middle aged man who was the personification of rude and condescending....

This hotel review is being broken down into categories because that is the fairest way to do it. Service: Absolutely brilliant. I cannot compliment the staff enough. When I arrived the lady behind the desk took the time to point out places of interest, let me know easiest ways to get around and what would be interesting to see and...

A triple room costs 149 euro a night. Certainly, Vienna is pricier than most cities, but you certainly don't get the feeling that it's worth every penny. The location is perfect though; if you find the short cut through the shopping center, you can walk to the U3 Neubaugasse Metro in 2 minutes. You're only 2 metro stops from Westbahnhof...

The location of this hotel is ideal. It is 5 minutes from Ring, Museum square and 2 minutes from metro station. Despite of this central location, Lindengasse is rather small and quite place, so you will not hear the sounds of big city. The hotel itself is very nice, interiors of 19th century style. Rooms are large, equiped with fans...

We stayed here with my husband in February 2012. It is very centrally located, just 5-minute walk away from Mariahilfer strasse and from there, you can either walk to historical centre or take U-bahn to city centre. The hotel room was large enough for two persons and it was clean. It was nicely decorated. Breakfast was very nice, especially for...

Stayed here in October 2011, the hotel is really nice. Location is perfect, all main sights within walking distance. Just 2 min walk to shopping street. Rooms are quite large and comfortable with separate bathroom and loo. Breakfast room is really small. Breakfast had a nice variety (cold cuts, cheeses, spreads, a variety of cereals, eggs, yoghurts, fruits, fruit juices...

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
